Stopped playing Crimson Gem Saga and started Broken Age. I died in CGS and lost about 5 hours of playtime due to not saving and well the game isn't good enough to replay 5 hours again.
Turns out I was wrong about not having battery problems. It's draining like crazy now, pretty much a full charge overnight. Bummer.
My Vita-2000 seems to be unaffected by the battery drain problem, but I've got friends who have run into it for sure. I think they are all on Vita-1000s, so it may be specific to that model. Hopefully they get a fix out soon.
Found out why my Vita-2000 wasn't having the battery problem... I hadn't actually update yet. LOL. Or really not funny at all. Battery is dead today when it had 50% charge left last night. Well, I hope they get the fix out ASAP. I wouldn't have updated, but you have to. You can't do anything without updating.
Does anyone know how large the patch is for Gravity Rush? Thinking of getting it but curious how big it could be. Just downloaded Helldivers today since it's free this month and the patch is over 1.5 gig lol. Crazy! That is by far the largest I've seen so far.
Seems like the Vita issues have been fixed? http://kotaku.com/sony-says-theyve-fixed-the-vitas-network-problem-1756875403 I didn't have any issues so I can't confirm.
Store is working fine. Will test battery problem but it theoretically should remain as I always leave wi-fi off except when I'm online on PSN or downloading something, so it shouldn't be related to network issues.
Unless the store was trying to access the wifi or attempting to do something while the Vita was asleep that was causing the battery drain. Maybe trying to load, even with the wifi off?
But if it's trying to load while the WiFi is off, then that's a software problem that they'd have to fix and they claim there's nothing to fix. Great. I'm going to test it out, though. Will leave my Vita unplugged tonight and see if it's dead tomorrow.
Charged my Vita up last night and then unplugged it and left it asleep. This morning it was nearly dead. The store fix didn't do anything for the battery problem. I'm going to try rebuilding the database tonight and then repeat the test and see if that helps. I'm not sure how rebuilding the database could affect the battery problem, but since I guess Sony's not going to do anything about it I might as well try.
Man that sucks and nothing from Sony. Sony said there was no issue with the FW, just the store and didn't even mention the battery issue. Sony:
I've finally stopped going to the TA front page and just jump directly to the forums. Sooo much faster then stopping first at the lethargic front page. Does anyone know if people on Vita can join a PS4 party or vice versa?
Last night I booted into safe mode and rebuilt the database, then let it sit over night in sleep mode. Right now it's at 100%. Of course this could be coincidence, but if you're still having battery problems it's worth a shot. We'll see if this sticks....
Mine has lasted the week since posting the problem, a bit of Rocketbirds, Nova-111 plus some remote play on Fallout 4, probably about 2-3 hrs all up, standby the rest of the time. Battery says it's about 50% but would expect this to drop to about 30% if started playing something which is what I would normally expect.
