... I know its not just for gaming but thats exactly my point, what will justify buying a new one? A brighter screen, faster and more powerful for what, just to surf the web?
I don't know, did you read IGN's Ridge Racer review? It was such a thorough thrashing that I thought 3.0 was pretty generous... Also, going back to an earlier discussion: it's tempting to buy Unit 13 and Lego Harry Potter through the PSN, but being able to trade in games once I've finished with them is important to me. I buy a lot of games (far, far too many, my wife would say), so when I get a game, I like having the peace of mind that I can trade it in towards something else if I don't like it.
Its strange, I normally think gameradar folks are pretty good with their reviews and scores, but they gave RR a 7 or an 8. Way way too high for the price to content ratio. Hence another reason to read multiple reviews, forums, and try the demo.
Erm.. No. What's up with every mod hating on the Vita? iOS has become stale to a lot of people, we can see that throughout this thread. I don't think downplaying the Vita will change anyone's mind. iOS is basically run on DLC, just look at IB's 20$ coin packs.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my vita. I haven't put it down since the day I got it actually. My statement was in regards to DLC in general. But every game for vita on launch basically has DLC and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. It's a moot point really, I just can't understand paying $40 for a game and having another $30+ for all the DLC, maybe not so much for alternate costumes but I know Marvel vs Capcom is missing some characters without having to purchase them separately.
Yeah agree 2 characters you can purchase seperately for 4quid each but they are optional on console version too-also costume packs are cheap but not essential Uncharted has a treasure map for 79p-hardly broke the bank there and from what ive seen the only other dlc is online passes-which if you buy the game new you wont need anyway So in terms of Vita having extortionate DLC i disagree And i know your always on ur Vita, i keep seeing Virtua Tennis notifications lol
I'm just tired of the DLC, on $0.99 apps it makes sense to round out the game to completion for an average of $5 like cogs. But I can't understand it on $40+ game day one. Like I said it's pointless to bring up, bitching won't do anything I'm just choosing not to buy it.
Sorry vita newbie here, so please bear with me I was looking to purchase super star dust delta, I want to get the full game with the dlc to save a few bucks instead of buying them separate. How do I buy them together, i didnt see an option on the store. And I sorta figured but no one around me has a vita Can you change the distance from km to mi somewhere?
Yeah, I agree. I think the Internet media has a lot to do with it. Leading up to the Vita's launch, most of the attention surrounding it was 'can Vita compete in a mobile dominated market?' and now that the new iPad is on its way the attention seems to be 'the iPad3 is more powerful than the Xbox360' when, IMHO, that's complete nonsense when the thing likely won't even match the power of a PS Vita, not to mention the new iPad will be triple the cost of a 360, at least. What is the draw of the new iPad? A few annual hardware bumps? Or is it the Apple logo? If the Vita had an apple on it, do you think the media would talk a bit different toward it? I think so. But it would cost at least double.
There should be a 15$ package for SSD, if not then they most likely reserved it for early adopters only, which means they must have taken it down sometime after launch. You don't really need the extra content, trust me. The core game is great, though, and you won't be missing much without the add-on. In all honesty, I'd recommend skipping the add-on content and putting that 5 dollars toward Tales of Space or a PSP game. Btw, there are at least 50 people in my immediate area with a Vita, I read somewhere that it may take some time for near to work right when you barely get started.
Within 2 miles there seems to be roughly 50-60 vitas in my neighborhood. I found this to be fairly impressive.
I didn't intend to buy another game until my next paycheck but I found myself buying uncharted today on a pure impulse. Guess I just read one good review to many or lost a little common sense. I guess I also kind of wanted a game with a little violence added at least until I get a proper FPS I was quite tempted by Unit 13 even though the reviews were so so. Only played the first level on uncharted so far and I'm impressed it does seem very polished, probably won't get a chance to really get into it until tomorrow though.
Has anyone tried Remote Play out yet? Was wondering if it worked with Mass Effect 3?? Now that would be cool
Unfortunately haven't a PS3 myself but I think Sony has still to fix up remote play It's quite possible I'm wrong, I do think I read something about them working on it though. Played a little more uncharted the graphics are amazing, especially the rivers and water in general. I thought everybodys golf had amazing water effects until I saw uncharted. Also hard to believe the amount of details on character clothes. Game seems very fun.
Got my Vita today! Fifa and Unit 13, though i've not done anything yet besides sign into psn and mess about with the homescreen. Have to say, i'm really impressed with it all... I really like the ease of switching between apps and shutting them down. I've also got 3 downloads set to download. I read so many negative comments on the web about the interface and people crying because they couldn't sign into psn before updating. Personally, i'm finding the interface pretty slick, very different to ios but good in its own right. I have found that wifi tends to be on 1 bar even though my router is in the other room.... And my iphone/ipad2 seem to have either max or at least 2 bars.... Are there known issues with wifi range? I've not yet disabled bluetooth, perhaps that could be somehow restricting signal?
Congrats on the purchase! I have the same problem with WiFi my dad told me it appears to be looking for a higher strength signal or something unlike the iDevices which allow for the lower one. It was something like that can't remember exactly.
I don't even know how that's a problem. I wouldn't listen to reviews by those people That's called impatience and laziness to update.
