I think I'm finally going to stop playing Super Meat Boy. Fantastic game, but I've reached my limits. Can't make any progress on Salt Factory Dark World. I think I'm going to start Foul Play now. I picked that up when it was released and was only $2 or something like that. I hear it's a lot of fun.
Wow. Weird. All versions are gone. Wonder if there's some game breaking bug? Here's the listing for it as found in my download list, but there's no download option any more: https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/foul-play/cid=UP3643-PCSE00484_00-FOULPLAYSCEA0001
Yeah, I think there was a bug or something. Hope it comes back, as I don't think it's available on the other mobile platforms, and, TBH, I didn't know it was available on the Vita until you pointed it out.
The devs say Foul Play will be back in the store soon. I don't have any idea what caused it to be pulled in the first place. https://twitter.com/Mediatonic/status/663806401744142336?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw I was able download it to my Vita from my download list. Going to check it out tonight.
This needs to come to the US: http://gematsu.com/2015/11/dragon-quest-metal-slime-edition-ps-vita-announced-japan Sooooooo nice looking!
In North America at least, Persona 4 Golden is on sale for $9.90 in the PSN store. I finally decided to pick it up. I have no idea if I'm going to like this type of game but I figured I'd give it a shot.
Jus saw this and was going to post it. Looks like a good deal. I have it, have not yet played it. Started playing Bravely Default on 3 DS a few days ago - pretty fun game.
I haven't played my Vita in months and am totally out of the loop. My favorite games on my Vita are Rayman, Jet Set Radio, Tearaway, Mutant Blobs Attack, Velocity Ultra/2X, Thomas Was Alone, TxK, Bit.Trip Runner2, OlliOlli and I also really enjoyed Soundshapes and escapeVektor. Looking at that list, are there any games you would recommend me? (I already have Spelunky, Luftrausers, Fez, Katamari, Stealth Inc, Steamworld Dig, Hotline Miami, Guacamelee)
So I'm thinking of finally getting a Vita. My question for you guys that have them or have had them, is it worth it? I mean are there enough quality games on it to justify getting it? It seems like I'm always seeing people post that a game I'm waiting for on my iPad is already out on vita. Games like Dragon Fin Soup for instance. I don't have a console just an iPad Air. Mobile is just more convenient right now. Also, I'm assuming you download games through PSN, correct? And what are the standard prices of games. I'm guessing around $15? I mean it's almost worth it to me for Borderlands 2 alone. I've also heard games like Killzone, Guacamelee, The Binding of Isaiac and Spleunky are great. So I need some advice. I have an iPad Air and I'm saving to get a new upgrade next year. Money is tight. So, do you guys think the Vita has enough good games to justify getting one? Are memory cards interchangeable? I mean can I use multiple cards, like a 16g card to save some stuff then have an 8g card for some stuff? Also, if anyone has one for sale I may be interested depending on what responses I get here. The cheapest I've seen one for is $160 for a used "very good quality" on Amazon. It's the Borderlands version which as I said is pretty important to me. Thanks in advance guys!
Loads of Black Friday deals at the moment. Get them before tomorrow. I have picked up Ys and Danganronpa.
Depends on what you're looking for. Vita has a pretty good library. One thing that has made it worth it to me is the fact that it is region free. Sadly, some games released only in Japan don't make it out to the west. So you have to import. You should do some research on the games that are out now and go from there. Yes, you use PSN to download games. Indie games tend to be around $15 dollars or so. Bigger budget games like Borderlands 2, Persona, Killzone tend to be higher. There are always deals out there so you could get those for cheap. SONY seemed to drop support of the Vita. So no more 1st party games like Killzone, Uncharted, Soul Sacrifice. (I recommend all 3). I personally don't care much about 1st party games on Vita TBH (I got my consoles for that). Memory cards are sold separately. You'll have to invest in one especially if you're going to do digital. Games like Killzone and Borderlands takes over 3GB of space (if you go digital). Physical carts barely take up any room on the memory card. I started with a 4GB card and I realized QUICK that I needed to upgrade. Go 8GB or higher. Because they are proprietary memory cards, they aren't cheap. You can't use a SD card. Again memory card prices drop as well. You can find deals on those too. In short, Vita has a pretty good catalog of games even with lack of 1st party support. If you can deal with the proprietary memory cards, its a solid purchase IMO.
Thanks for the feedback. About memory cards, could I say, use a small one to save a digital version of Killzone, then another small one to save another game? See what I mean? I really like the fact that I could import games. I use to play a lot of imports on various consoles so that is really cool. I think it'd be worth it for the first party games that do exist and the indie stuff that keeps coming out. Thanks again!
Yes, but as far as I know it would be really impractical and expensive (for exaple, KZ Mercenaries is around 4.6 GB so you'll need a 8 GB memory for that), also, yes, get a Vita, if you are signed up on PS+ you can pretty much survive with what they have each month (specially next month, there's Freedom Wars, one of my favorite games on the system) and a couple of crossbuy indies (CounterSpy, Hotline Miami, Titan Souls, Lone Survivor, etc.) so yeah, I bought mine last June and I'm loving it and I'd recommend it, even if people say it's a dying console
Vita is an awesome little handheld, but I recommend using a grip with it. It's a bit uncomfortable for me if I use it without a grip. I have and like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZG8CV2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage This is for the Vita-2000 (aka "Slim")
When I got my Vita, I made sure to pick up a 64GB memory card. Best thing I did! Never a worry about space again!
There are more than enough quality games to justify a Vita purchase. Unfortunately, as a huge Borderlands 2 fan I can tell you the Vita version is not one of them, it's really really terrible. Some folks in here will probably disagree with me and tell you otherwise but don't listen to them as I played extensively the PS3 version and the Vita one is a big meh at best. I have an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 6, after getting the Vita (and a 3DS XL) I pretty much NEVER use them for gaming anymore. Also, if you like indie games, Vita is pretty much the dream portable indie machine. It's just incredible for those games, lots of amazing titles. On the other hand, almost all AAA games are mediocre.
