I have yet to play Freedom Wars and Phantasy Star Nova, but if I had to choose now, it would be Soul Sacrifice. BUT Toukiden: AoD is growing on me. Wish there was better monster (boss) variety. And its on the easy side imo (with the right gear). Toukiden Kiwami probably fixed those issues though. That SS Vita does look pretty sick.
It's Anubis with one n! Grrrr! I found your message humorous though so I'll let it slide. I think when you get a bit of spare money it's worth upgrading. I highly doubt you will ever find one significantly discounted. You can keep an eye on Amazon. You probably could use a used one since it is hard to damage them. I feel like the used ones wouldn't be that much cheaper anyway. What size memory cards do you have? Once you get a 64GB, you could probably sell the rest to make back some money.
Did Phantasy Star Nova come to the U.S, or are you talking about importing it? Not including that one, the only one I haven't played is Toukiden. SS was my favorite. FW was fun but lacked variety and some polish. Ragnorak or whatever it's called I didn't like at all. Thanks for posting that image. I can never get pictures to work when posting through my phone. That Vita is seriously sexy, why didn't they bring it to the U.S.?
Import copy. I lost hope of it ever coming to the U.S. And apparently, the U.S. prefers Assassins Creed/Borderlands/Call of Duty LE's than Soul Sacrifice I guess. Or because the system is red. NO ONE in the U.S. would buy any system red. Its all about the black (and sometimes white) over here!
I think my finger was trembling when i was typing your name. Sorry. I have 2 16 Gb and 1 8 Gb cards. I got the 16s on sale at 15 or 20 bucks each, and the 8 came with the system. Yeah, used would be reasonable. I will keep an eye out. Starting FF7 again. Bought 1. $88. The 16s are going for 25 each and even a straight trade in is $15 so makes the 64 pretty cheap.
I personally would never import a game because I'm not awesome enough to know multiple languages. I feel like dialogue is essential in most games so it's all or none for me. I think 2/3 of the LEs you mentioned were just the standard system packed with a game. I think he Assassin's Creed one was just a white system. I personally prefer black systems except when it comes to handhelds, then I like to go all out. I wish they would give the option though.
Nice, good decision in my opinion. I think mine was only a few bucks more so they don't seem to change on price much. I think it was like $92 to be exact. I had a 32gb and an 8gb memory card before I bought the 64GB. I bundled them both together and said the 8GB was a bonus. I think the ending bid was $67 before shipping costs. That really helped to make some money back. Congrats on your purchase though, enjoy!
Blue Vita-2000 coming to the US: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/08/31/aqua-blue-ps-vita-coming-to-gamestop-this-november-2/ Japan is getting an orange one. I'd buy the orange if it came here (and I needed a new Vita): Apparently Japan is also getting white and aqua blue (I assume the same as above). Why can't we have all the colors. Boo.
I can't wait to get my hands on that new Danganronpa game. I ordered it online so it should be here in a couple of days. I love how they came out with a free Daganronpa theme also. It looks pretty good actually. Also, I may have just wasted a decent amount of money on Vita related stuff for pretty much no reason at all. Well, I hope the OLED screen is as good as people say it is.
The OLED is good, but really the LED Vita-2000 looks good too, at least once you get use to it because it does look different and that takes getting use to. The 2000 is superior in every other way. It was totally worth the upgrade from my perspective. I wouldn't go back to the Vita-1000.
Post some impressions. I'm interested in it but I gotta play Danganronpa 2 first. Sitting in the backlog sadly. ...Wait did you buy that LE SS Vita??
I actually got the game today. So far I'm liking it a lot. I really love the Daganronpa series but I'm not sure if I could handle another one in the same visual novel style. The mechanics in the first two games weren't too stellar in my opinion. I'll admit I was pretty pessimistic when I heard that they were making a TPS. I mean, going from developing visual novels to making a TPS? A lot could go wrong. Suprisingly, they seemed to have pulled it off. It definitely feels like Daganronpa and not like some cheap spin-off. The graphics still share the same style as the first two games despite being completely rendered in 3D. Blood is still pink, bodies are a neon blue or pink depending on the gender, and even stuff like fire has a neat stylized look to it. The story so far seems interesting. I don't want to spoil anything so I'm not going to talk about it. I will say that I can tell it takes place between the two other games. I don't want to spoil how I know that, but you could probably play 1, AE, and then 2. The mechanics seem pretty good. The shooting isn't stellar to be honest but it is serviceable. There are a few types of bullets you can use. You can also add modifiers to each bullet type to change stuff like it's damage and capacity. There is also a second character you can switch between and they can cause lots of mayhem. However, you can only use them for a certain amount of time before needing to "recharge". Think of the second character as a special ability. You can also upgrade their weapon of choice. The levels them self are very linear. There are no branching paths on the levels or anything like that. To be honest, it's a bit relieving. I been playing the switcher 3 and it feels like I never get anything significant accomplished since it's so huge. It's nice to have a linear focused game for once. Overall, I'm very happy how it has turned out. I kept my expectations low but was surprised. Despite the genre change it is still Daganronpa. ------------------------------------------ To answer your question, maybe. I was browsing on Amazon and saw some seller selling a used one. In the description they mentioned it was a display unit in their store and not a playable unit. So it has been locked behind a case all of its life. It even comes with all of the accessories. For giggles I decided to haggle for the life of the Vita even though it was Amazon. To my surprise, they agreed. How was I supposed to say no and let the Vita die alone after haggling? So you see, I had no choice. I'm still planning on keeping my Slim Vita also. I figured it would be good to have a back up and a Vita with an OLED screen. I'm hoping if I leave both of my Vitas together one night I'll wake up with a OLED Mini Vita. I figured it wasn't going to be a drastic difference. I'm expecting the colors to be more saturated and that's about it. Now I have a backup if my main Vita ever dies and I think it'll be neat to have one of the first handheld consoles with an OLED screen. One day that may be common and I'll be able to look back on it and how awesome it was for it's time. I'm not sure what I would do if Sony announced a new model though...
Got the 64 Gb memory card today and going to start the long download process. I am feeling LARGE today though. I think if you turn your computer sideways you will see that my profile has expanded significantly to even challenge Anubis! HA! I have such a large library that I am not sure everything will fit though. But, if it don't fit force it - if that doesn't work, you need a bigger hammer, and if it breaks - it probably needed replacing anyways... I think this long weekend is going to be full of football, the US Open, AC Unity, and Vita... and a few beers to help mellow everything out...
Who art thou rebellious snake? Thou dareth compare thyself to me and inviteth me not to thou's party? Thou head shall be severed, thou heart shall be cut out. The streets shall turn red from the blood of the unfaithful! P.S. Congrats on your new purchase, I hope you enjoy it. ------------------------------------------------------------------ By the way, I got my new Vita today. I would post some pictures but I think TA banned me from posting them.
I understand that position. I import with the main intention to play the game early (even if its coming to the U.S. at some point). And hoping the gameplay is easy to understand. In most cases there are very helpful guides online that help English only speakers understand whats going on in the game. So you aren't completely lost. Yeah I was being a tad sarcastic there. Handheld or Home consoles, we need options here in the west too! @pluto Congrats on your 64GB card. I still got my 32, 16, and a 4gb laying around. Maybe I should get rid of them. Thanks for posting. Sounds like a buy for me. I still plan on playing 2 before I grab AE. So you don't plan on playing anything on that Vita? Joking aside, grats on your purchase.
Haha! I think I finally got the photos to work. I just had to use the site on a desktop since uploading photos on the iPhone app is broken. All the accessories came sealed and I didn't see a single scratch on the Vita. I love SS and my Vita, so it's nice have a limited edition SS Vita.
Do I need to fight you also? I'm still not sure if I could play an import. Even with the guides, I feel like I would be missing too much. I imported Stein's Gate on Nemerleb's recommendation. It had English subtitles but Japanese voice acting. Even that bothered me a bit. I hope my impressions helped a bit. I don't blame you for playing 2 before AE. Either way would be fine. Both are pretty awesome games if you don't mind the wackiness. One of my Vitas may end up as a display piece. I was hoping I could just pop the memory card out of one and pop into the other and everything would be dandy. Instead, I had to activate the licenses and then the system proceeded to put every icon in it's own folder.
I put 4 pages of games on the Vita and still have about 30 Gb left.... Very surprised. But, for the prices that these cards go for used - you could get around 40 for the 32 around 20 -25 for the 16. Not sure about the 4, but still you are only looking at $88 for a 64 Gb minus around $60 - 65 so total outlay an additional 25 dollars. Not bad I don't think. Of course, not everyone likes to sell used stuff, but if you don't mind, it is worth considering.
Hey Anubis - very nice looking system. Do you like the OLED or new screen better? Sorry for teasing you, I guess I started way back, and just can't let go. I will try and be better.
Thank you. I actually haven't played the new system much yet. I installed a full body clear protector on it and like to keep the system off for at least 24hrs after installing the protector. I did play a bit of Daganronpa AE before installing the protector. Honestly, I didn't see a huge difference. The LCD panel on the Slim is pretty good in my opinion. It did appear that that the OLED has better blacks than the Slim. Also, the colors seemed a bit more saturated. Not necessarily better, just more saturated. The biggest difference in my opinion would be the brightness. The OLED seems a lot more brighter than the Slim. If you're an outdoors gamer this would probably be a very important point. I personally rarely take my Vita anywhere, I prefer to play at home. The OLED is surprisingly a lot thicker than the Slim. It is also a bit heavier. It seems like it probably would get uncomfortable after playing a couple of hours. Both Vitas have their own pros and cons. I would probably say the Slim has more pros and less cons when compared to the OLED. I definitely need to spend more time with the OLED though. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it. I just wish I could figure out an easy way to switch between the OLED and Slim. Don't sweat "teasing" me. I need to give a servant a good lashing every once in a while. With you I can justify those lashings. Speaking of lashings... Where's my other bitch, I mean slave, curses, I meant to say friend. Excuse my stuttering. Anyways, where is Nemerleb? Maybe if we all yell his name he shall return? NEMERLEBBBBBBBBBBBBB! I summonth thee! Show thy face!
