Bit disappointed Hand of Fate has been canned for Vita (unless someone other than the dev wants to port it), good pick up and play game, better suited for a handheld IMO.

Is it just me, or is anyone else a bit disappointed with current-gen consoles? To be more specific, I'm dissapointed with developers targeting 1080P at the expense of frame rate. I mean 1080P is nice and all, but I rather play games in 900P that are locked at 30fps than play games that are in 1080P that range from 15-30fps. Some games are great but suffer from low fps. A good example is the Witcher 3 and Bloodborne. Both are fantastic games that are 1080P but suffer from frame rate issues. I'm currently playing the Witcher 3 and some swamp areas seem to run at around 20fps. It just bothers me so much. I mean, why even bother with 1080P when you could have games running at 4K and 2-3 FPS?

Now that I'm done ranting, how's everyone doing? Enjoying any games or have any recommendations?

Also, I'm a bit annoyed at you, Nemerleb. Do you remember when you got me excited about Salt and Sanctuary? So many months have passed and not a single word about the game. Why do you make me suffer?

P.S. There are a few Telltale games on sale on Amazon. The Walking Dead 1+2 are on sale for $15 each and The Wolf Among Us is $13.

I know I'd be disappointed in current gen consoles if I cared about them... but I don't! And you don't have to either!

Well, while I haven't played that much The Witcher 3 on PS4 (I recently got a decent PC so I'm playing it on that), I agree with what you say about Bloodborne, the performance almost reminds me of Borderlands on the Vita, I'd preferred a 900p resolution at 30 STABLE FPS, the game is too dark to really notice all those fancy effects :v
And also, should I buy Freedom Wars or Soul Sacrifice? Both look awesome but I'm not too familiar with the MH-esque gameplay so I'm not sure which is better.
And BTW: Lost Dimensions looks awesome, a sure instabuy for me.

Graphics options in console versions of games would solve so many problems!

Yeah, I didn't really want one and wasn't planning on buying one. Someone then gave me one as a gift so I decided to use it. I really appreciate the gift, I just wish secs would stop focusing on resolution and effects so much. Grrrrr.

Now that I think about it, From Software isn't that great at optimizing games. There probably would be FPS issues at 480P resolution. I wish Sony would help them out since Bloodborne is exclusive.

Both FW and SSD are great games. My personal vote goes to SSD. I really enjoyed the focus on magic and the setting. FW has a neat setting, but there isn't too much variety and some of the stats can be a bit confusing. Also, Lost Dimensions caught my eye also!

The main reason for 1080p being desirable is it's typically the native resolutions of most TV's, and with the way upscaling is handled it makes for a blurred mess if it's sub that. Some people won't notice but for others it stands out like a sore thumb, I personally dislike it and find games like BF4 and Watch_Dogs hard to look at (900p). However The Witcher 3 is sub par and unforgivable in places, Bloodbourne I didn't find that bad but maybe I haven't gotten far enough or am just having selective memory (been awhile). Project Cars has full PC style graphical controls, other games should do the same.

At least with a closed platform things will only get better as developers learn to squeeze every ounce out of the consoles.

Darkest Dungeon looks decent, nearly bought it a few times on Steam as a friend raves about it, much better suited to portable for me though by the sounds.

I fully agree. DRPGs are just meant to be played for short amount of time on the go. Vita is getting so many DRPGs but this is the only western one. So I'll gladly take it. Actually I'm playing Persona Q on 3DS now. Not loving it or hating it. It's just...good.
Apparently Bloodstained is shaping up to be huge (over 1500 rooms) so Vita is getting its fair share of platformers soon.
On a side note: thanks for the kind comment on that other thread.

Hey guys, what's the deal with Playstation Mobile quitting? Not gonna be able to buy any more games after tonight? That's it?! Exactly how is this gonna effect us Vita owners? Anyone know more about this? Starting to scare me! Please bring us up to snuff about this quickly!

I just looked at TheVitaLounge and they show there's a PSN and PS+ store update for July 14 so maybe that's why ?

Thanks for this link....will have to look into this pronto!
I'm a little confused though. Does it mean there will only be physical copies of games available or do I purchase in the future any digital download from my PC and then transfer it onto my vita which I've never done. ??

Just to be clear: PlayStation Mobile has nothing to do with the regular Vita game store.

Ah yes very good. Thanks for the clarification. A question though. What do I do with the games I have on my vita that I purchased and downloaded directly from the mobile store on my device? Do I follow the settings instructions from the link above and run every digital game while on the Internet to ensure they can still work in the future
    Thanks in advance

The only games affected are PS Mobile games. If you don't know what those are you probably don't have any. Stuff like Super Crate Box. PS Mobile was a platform to run games on Vita/Sony phones and maybe some other places. Not sure. You could only find them in the store on the Vita in a special PS Mobile section. There was a point in the past when they gave away a bunch of them for free. That's the only ones I have.
