Keen to hear imps on The Witcher III when you both have it, found 1 and 2 a bit clunky but 3 is looking pretty sweet. Btw Pluto, Bloodbourne is surprisingly accessible, more so than Souls.
It is but only because the RPG side was (too) streamlined. Very few weapons and armor, minimum amount of possible builds, no obtuse mechanics like the world tendency in Demon's Souls, etc. Combat difficulty wise I think it's the hardest of all the Souls games.
Got my e-mail today from Best Buy to pick up my Witcher 3 Steel Case tomorrow. I probably won't be able to play it until the weekend - ugh. Too many things happening with family and work. About the BloodBourne - appreciate the thoughts above. I don't mind a challenge, and many games I enjoy involve a lot of figuring out a lot of nuances and what not. Currently my son and I are working on getting at least 1 character of each build to Level 70 on Diablo- but mostly we are trying to see how far up the Greater Rift scale we can get. Level 46 is the high so far with a Witch Doctor Build. So, if it is strategy and patience, I don't mind - if the only way you can win is memorizing attack patterns (a la all the bosses in the games from the 80's and many from the 90's) - that is not fun for me anymore. Or, if you have to have twitch reflexes, I don't find those fun, just frustrating because I don't have the same level of anticipation that I used to have. So, if it is like D3 that you get better and better because you learn the character, the strengths, weaknesses, etc. I would probably find it enjoyable. From what I can glean from the reviews that tend to be negative - it seems like people die because badness comes out of nowhere and you have to just be ready for immediate defense / offense and if you are ready, you will likely die, and if you aren't ready, you will definitely die... That is not fun to me - but if I have the wrong impression, I would love to get some different perspectives. The PS4 repertoire is relatively thin and I would love to expand my library.
I found combat easier to be honest, it plays to an aggressive yet tactical style which I liked and it's very quick, rewarding you for playing that way. Personally have made better progress in Bloodbourne than Souls but it's about the fit of a glove and everyone's different.
It is punishing, and being a married person I don't typically have time to retrace steps, it suits me better than souls and the world opens up beautifully, but it's not going to be for everyone and in comparison to D3 there's not much that's similar as far as approach goes. Progress is rewarding in Bloodbourne but I can see how it would just be annoying for some people, The quirky nature of it would either be endearing of off putting as well. Very much a risk/reward game. In comparison to Diablo 3, I've yet to die after a play through on normal and a partial play through of the next difficulty up, plus a few rifts. I wouldn't say I've pushed it but its probably safe to say that they're poles apart as far as difficulty goes.
Despite being RPGs the Diablo and Souls series are entirely different beasts. Diablo is an arcadey loot fest where you spend most of your time mowing down thousands of enemies without breaking a sweat, NPCs / dialogues / story have that B-movie campy feel. Souls games have that dark, despairing, gloomy atmosphere, story is (awesome but) cryptic, gameplay is constantly tense as even the lowest mob can and will kill you in a heartbeat if not paying attention; it's old school unforgiving not in a cheap way but in one that you must learn from your mistakes to be able to go on. It's interesting that Bloodbourne seems to have divided the Souls veterans regarding its difficulty, while I found it much harder than the previous games other people like september think it's easier. Maybe that's because I'm used to play magic or tank builds which are non-existent in Bloodbourne. Faster risk / reward dexterity builds were never my cup of tea, and in Bloodbourne all the time you must play aggressively or die, and co-op was s**t in BB when I was playing and some bosses were clearly designed for it, some of them were very very hard to beat solo (that Defiled Chalice OMFG). I'm not sure BB is for you, pluto, correct me if I'm wrong but I remember you saying some time ago that you couldn't get into Dark Souls because it was too hard for you. Unless you are unlike me (coward play it safe style ) and more like september (badass lightspeed twitch reflexes style ) you'll likely find BB even more hard and frustrating. Really wish any of these games on Vita, if it's going to be a port machine then at least give us the right ports.
Having never played Octodad before I've got to say: The controlls aren't as hard as they looked! Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
I am hearing rumours that FIFA 16 won't be released on Vita. I hope this isn't true as I was hoping for a "proper" version this year.
With Sonys "legacy" comment for both the Vita and not long released PSTV, I'm a bit disappointed. Their failing is their own lack of effort, not bad product. How is that meant to distill confidence in 3rd party developers when the manufacturer has basically thrown those platforms onto the done pile.
So true and I think this will be the last Sony handheld "console". It is such a shame as there is/has been so much potential. There are some great games out there. Getting Hell Divers today while on ps plus offer. Looking forward to this.
Never played it before either! Grabbed it now! Thanks for the tip! Cracks me up even watching someone else moving the guy! Haven't been using my Vita too much recently, but, you know---for some reason I always find time to add a brand new release to my device! Same thing for my phone and iPad. Strangely, I realize that I enjoy following gaming, reading about new games etc., websites, reviews, and finding and adding things I just gotta have to my devices all the time at least or more than I actually do playing these days!! Isn't that weird? And I'm SO addicted it's unreal! Is there a name for this disease? ( Might hafta go get something for my affliction, man! )
Oh they clarifiedtheir stance on that (http://venturebeat.com/2015/05/27/sony-clarifies-legacy-platform-statement-our-portable-business-will-be-continued/). Basically they meant the OLED version of the Vita line. But all of that situation is very blah tbh. Personally I have 30 games I NEED, confirmed to be released on the thing; so everything more is just bonus. E3 is around the corner so let's see what they have in store for Vita.
Just bought my Vita for a mere $20, instantly subscribed to PS Plus & I have to say The Titles are great & The controls are excellent! Vita has easily taken my heart from iOS!
Nice. I am guessing it was a friend or relative and not someone really only asking that much. If so, they did not do much homework on value. Regardless - PS Plus is the way to go for lots of good (and not so good) freebies - and there are a lot of quality titles that go on sale and some great titles that are definitely worth spending some regular retail coin on. Enjoy your new Vita!
Now that's a deal you can't argue with! Enjoy your Vita, and if you want to see what the Vita is capable of, I can't recommend Wipeout 2048 and Killzone Mercenary enough! (They've both been on PS+ before, so there's no point in waiting for that to happen again either)
I agree with these 2 (especially killzone). Also Gravity Rush, Persona 4 and Borderlands are top quality. There are of course a lot of classics which are very cheap. I.e. Psp and psone. Some great rpg's available.
Super Exploding Zoo is pretty fun. It does have some bugs, though. Some people have had corrupted saves. I haven't run into that myself, but I haven't played it that long yet. Also there is an unobtainable trophy, but they are aware of it and working on a patch.
