Yes you should play the DS entry called 999 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors beforehand because it ties very closely to Virtue's Last Reward (it's a direct continuity of 999 and even features returning characters from it. Also Virtue spoils 999 but in a complicated way). If you can't track down a copy of 999, it's available on iOS but without the escape rooms which is very blah... So it's your choice but seriously...at least read the iOS VN of it. It's so much more compelling than Dangan. Don't play Vessel on PS Now, the controls are super awkward and lags in some part even with my net connection. But Box Boy is 5$ and one of the best puzzle games this year.
So far I'm really liking MonsterBag (this month's free PS+ game besides Killzone Mercenary) Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Thanks Der-Kleine and Nemerleb for the info and recommendations. It seems like I would be okay playing the Vita version without playing 999, but playing 999 first is highly recommended. Surprisingly, new copies of 999 sell on Amazon for $20. I'll probably pick both of them up. The 3DS is backwards compatible, right? To nemerleb: I just got a pop up on Dagan saying I'm halfway done. I guess it will be a bit before we can talk about the ending. I kind of have an idea where it's going, but I could be completely wrong. Spoiler I'm going to try not to be specific, since I'm not sure if the spoiler tag issue has been fixed. But what happened when you first enter the school, the two images, the giant machine, and the final note from a character all give me an idea of what's going on. It kind of reminds me of a certain part from Fallout 3... Of course, I could be completely off track in which case you probably won't understand what I'm getting at.
MonsterBag is pretty fun and I love the art style, but I am stuck on a level. Offhand not sure of the stage number, but it's the one were you get (roasted) chickens to throw.
Hello? Helllloooooo?!? Am I'm the last vita owner alive? Is this the end? All drama aside, I thought of another random discussion. Do you all think there will be another revision of the Vita (Not a successor), or do you think the slim was the last one? What would you all like to see if they made another revision? I personally would like to see a slim OLED version. Better yet, I would like to see two models of the revision, one with the OLED and one without. I would like to see it modeled so it was more comfortable to hold. Also, I would like to see slightly bigger concave thumb pads. Nemerleb: I finished Dangan, so if you want to discuss the ending we can.
I have been going crazy playing D3 on my PS 4. Finally got some good gear that I customized and so am able to play at Torment 6 level. I am too chicken to play on Hardcore as I can't bear the thought of losing my gear... Got to Greater Rift Level 25 so far. Those take some planning and really have to look at specific skill sets due to the mobs combined with having 2 - 4 elite groups attacking all at once...So, I have neglecting my Vita (except for making sure that I keep it charged, and d/l the free games from PS plus..)
I haven't played D3 in a while, but I'm glad you're having fun. I never could bring myself to play hardcore mode either. I could see myself getting some good gear, only to lag for a few seconds and get massacred. I think that mode is intended only for masochists. I'm more of a sadist myself... Just kidding (or am I?).
Just backup your saves (cloud or USB) and there's no risk of losing your Hardcore Mode characters. Not worth the hassle IMO but for those who really want to play that mode...
I did not know that would work. Thanks for the tip. I am at the point that I am sort of tweaking and looking for the right armor sets. I make it pretty routinely to Greater Rift Level 26 - 27, and need to get my full Maurader gear (or 5 pieces anyways) and same with Natalya gear to I can spam Rain of Vengence. I figure I will be able to get into the 30's then although I am just too cautious of a player to get much further. I will probably level up a Monk next - I have one in the 40's. I will have yet to make the infamous Hellfire Ring -with all the farming required, it is more of an exercise of patience than skill... (actually mostly luck).
I wouldn't mind a "Vita XL", similar to the 3ds idea. This would give a larger screen allowing for a better viewing experience - films and games. This could also introduce bigger thumb pads as per your post. Also larger built in memory which you can still use with a memory card inserted and larger memory cards I.e. 128gb at cheaper prices. Extra hardware under the hood could allow for ps2 games to be downloaded from the App Store.
All things considered, a new Vita would be nice, but the last new one took around two years and Sony doesn't seem interested I the Vita any way since the remote play feature was brought to the PS4 in 13'. I kinda think handheld gaming for Sony is dead. 2005 is long gone and another company had already established a deep enterprise within the mobile gaming market. I think that it's possible but most likely not. Unless it would get the support it deserves a new Vita would FLOP. HARD. I'd give it a 30/100% chance happening.
Interesting idea. The Vita is already quite big compared to the 3DS. Any bigger and I feel like it would be like a mini tablet. I personally play at home 99%, so I wouldn't mind the size increase. The memory would be nice, but very unlikely since Sony probably makes a decent amount of money from the memory cards. Better hardware would be nice, but it would fragment the player base. This might make it more difficult to develop for, so I don't see that one happening also. Nintendo can get away with it since they're Nintendo. Very interesting ideas though!
Yeah, I personally don't see Sony making another model of the Vita. I sure do hope they make another handheld again and try to learn from previous mistakes. Having Nintendo monopolize the market probably wouldn't be the best. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my new 3DS quite a lot. However, their hardware just sucks even with competition. Plus with their new focus of mobile games and free to play, I don't see them making another great handheld.
Platinumed Guacamele!, including the Level and Skin packs. Phew! Great game, and looking forward to Drinkbox's next game, Severed. I think that one is coming to iOS, so I may be getting that version instead.
Severed will be coming to the Vita first though. It's a timed exclusive (like many of Drinkbox's other games)
It is such a shame. I don't think it's dead yet but it isn't healthy. I love my vita and the games available but think with the tablet market it limits the fan base to some extent. Personally I have both iPad and vita but there are many who follow the tablet market due to freemium and very cheap gaming. This of course leaves a more limited fanbase for the handheld console market. We also all know the damage caused to Sony during the psp days thanks to piracy and I think some developers stayed away after this. Such a shame as the vita still has so much potential, with the right support.
Hey, did anyone buy Titan Souls? I'm curious about that game. I'm sure most of you have played these games, but I figured I would post this anyway for those that haven't. All these deals are for the physical cartridge and are from the U.S. Amazon site. * Gravity Rush is $7.50 * Tearaway is $20 * Borderlands 2 is $20 (I can't really recommend this one).
I haven't finished Gravity Rush yet but a great game. It's a little different to the norm and thoroughly enjoyable. I picked up for this price over Christmas.
