Having played Nocturne (SMT3), Strange Journey (was recognized as an SMT entry but was never given a number), and SMT4, I highly recommed the first two since I was left disappointed in SMT4. From the crappy overworld map, to the very basic story, to quests where I had trouble keeping up with without using a notepad to return to the specific location, to the divergent paths that were REALLY hard to obtain (if you were bewildered by how Person 4 had a simple dialogue option to set the path, in SMT4 you were locked out of a path if you undertake even one optional quest, and the Neutral path is considered one of the hardest to get in the series). The fiends were also unfuriating to track down in the game compared to other entries. Finally, and that's a personal reason, Kaneko (the lead character/demon designer of the whole series) didn't do the artwork this time around, but Masayuki Doi (Trauma Center) took over this time around and some choices were a hit-or-miss (even though I came to love them after a while but yeah, you'll notice a little difference). So for me track down the first two I mentionned. SMT4 gets a 15$ price tag every couple of months on the eShop, and you also have to buy the DLC to enjoy super bosses and costumes.
Glad to have been of service for once. I'm personally am not upset that I bought it, but I'm not head over heels for it either. I'll also have to check out the SMT series you and Nemerleb were talking about. Thanks for the recommendation! I also owe you an apology. One day you posted "Ultimate Despair Girls" or something like that, and I responded with one of my usual snarky comments. When I originally read it, I thought you were talking about Criminal Girls. Later, I ended up buying Dangan Ronpa and I realized that Ultimate Despair Girls was a spin off of that series, and not the Criminal Girls game. Hehe, whoops!
No sir, I did indeed say "We need more criminal girls" so your original assumption was correct. Your snarky remark was appreciated if even somewhat baited as I enjoy your humor. All these sexual themes in video games is a new thing for me since obtaining the vita and find it all somewhat hilarious so don't ever feel need for apology regarding my remarks about said content. My favorite is still the act of stroking the vita to "power-up" my team! As for SMT - I'm not a follower of the series so I don't know which ones are better than others. All I know is I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with it and that it's much different from P4G aside from the core mechanic of fusing demons to fight. This part is much more fleshed out in SMT4 than P4G in that your party is made up of demons you acquire as you go along.
AHHHHH! I'm my own worse enemy! I have a hard time remembering things, and when I do "remember" them I mess them up somehow. Grrrrr. I'm glad you don't take my comments seriously. I never mean to truly offend, I'm just an asshole who enjoys messing with people. Feel free to fire comments back at me also. I remember when I first saw gameplay of that game and how they stroked their Vita. It was one of the funniest looking things I ever saw. It makes me wonder who came up with that element, and who green-lit it.
I'll keep that n mind. I thought about commenting back but this thread gets on a roll sometimes and makes it feel like it's old news or I just simply read it and forget to get back to it. Again though, your humor is very similar to my own so it's all good!
Good to hear. From now on I'll just private message you to stop stroking your Vita. (That could have just turned out bad. When I typed vita, my phone autocorrected it to "boys". Luckily, I caught it and corrected it.) Out of curiousity... Have you ever posted on this thread with one hand while striking your vita with the other?
I figured it's about time I start another random discussion. So, what are you all currently playing? Feel free to post your thoughts of the game also! I'm sure you all could guess mine by reading my previous posts. I'm playing Dangan Ronpa and it is quite weird. I feel myself slowly transforming into a Japanease asshole, so don't be surprised when I start posting slanderous comments in Japanease. I must admit though, the story is not nearly as predictable as other games.
I was a little bit disappointed with Dangan's ending tbh. Because for me that kind of twist has been done better imho. We'll talk about it if you wish once you get to it. Maybe you should give the superior VN Zero Escape a go on Vita (make sure you play the first entry on DS though). Also I bought Box Boy on 3DS last thursday and I'm addicted to it. and also playing Vessel on PS Now.
Bought a 64gb card today (part exchanged a couple of smaller cards) and spent most of the day filling it up. After previous comments I have just started Persona 4 again and will see if I can beat it.
That's a bummer about Dagan. I think I'm about half way done, but once I do finish I'll be sure to let you know so we can talk about it. Hopefully they fix the spoiler tag issue by then. Is the first entry for zero escape necessary to understand the Vita ones? I'm not sure if I could track down a copy, and I'm not sure if I could play a game at such a low resolution. The 3DS's resolution is on the edge of unbearable. I never heard the two games you are currently playing. I may have to go check them out.
I think that's a pretty popular game. I have to give it another go sometime. Nice, I sold my 32gb a while back and bought a 64gb. I never regretted that decision. Did you ever beat Persona 4 before? Say what?
No. I never did beat it. Trouble is that I will get a new game and get distracted then not go back to it. Determined now though.
You don't have to play 999 to understand Zero Escape (There is only one Zero Escape game on the 3DS and Vita btw). I only played Zero Escape on the Vita and really enjoyed it, infact I liked it waaaaaay more than I ever expected to like it. The story is really interesting, it just gets better and better the more you play it! While it might be better having played the prequel (which I haven't), I don't remember ever feeling like I was missing something major because I hadn't played it. TL;DR: Get Zero Escape, it's great!

It's only for people in the US though. I'm still really disappointed that this part of Wipeout 2048 never happened:
