    No physical games yet, I have quite a few digital purchases from before and a ton of PS Plus stuff too.

    I'm not sure what my first physical purchase will be. I wanted to get Danganronpa, but with the sale I might just pick it up digitally.

    Thanks. Yes, I definitely needed 64gb. I am downloading a lot of stuff right now and am down to 28gb already.

    Didn't you have a white Vita before? And 64GB FTW!!

    Yes.

    I had a 3G launch black vita, which I traded for a white OLED Vita. This is the first Vita Slim I have though, which I'm liking more. Mostly due to the improved shoulder/start/select buttons.

    I'm enjoying Kick & Fennick. Pretty solid game. I finished Chapter 3 last night. The difficulty level is a bit inconsistent, but it's fun. Note that there seems to be a bug with the "Continue" option when starting up the game. If you choose that option it might appear that it lost your progress in the last level you finished, but actually it hasn't. Go back to the menu and instead choose Levels and there you'll see that it has recorded your finishing the level and you can choose the next one.

    I hate how they advertise the cards as 64gb but you end up with only 60 to use. That's roughly about 4-5 games' worth of space!
    Content manAger is your friend though unless you prefer having your games permanantly on the device?

    I might use Content Manager later if it comes to that, but for right now I'm going to try and beat some games so I can delete them off the Vita.

    4 GB less than advertised is nothing. As you go bigger with storage mediums the gap becomes much, much larger. My 2TB harddrive actually only has 1,81 GB. Those 200 GB could store HUNDREDS of Vita games!

    W.T.F? But what is that space used for technically? Especially since Vita mem cards are designed for the device only and sold at extra premium; couldn't they have figured a way to let customers use them to full potential? (technoob)

    EDIT: Also does anyone here play Destiny? There's been a video going around about a kid being trolled for his naivete and it's heart breaking: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uN8E9neefOc
    I can't believe real gamers would do that to someone.

    The explanation for the memory stuff is actually quite simple. It has something to do with the definition of the word "megabyte".

    Basically these storage mediums do have the advertised ammount of storage space by one definition, but not the other.

    Decimal:
    1KB = 1000 bytes
    1MB = 1000 KB
    1GB = 1000 MB
    1TB = 1000 GB
    => 64 GB = 64 000 000 000 bytes (64 Gigabytes) (Giga = 10^9)
    => 2 TB = 2 000 000 000 000 bytes (2 Terabytes) (Tera = 10^12)

    Binary:
    1KB = 1024 bytes
    1MB = 1024KB
    1GB = 1024MB
    1TB = 1024GB
    => 64 GB = 64*1024*1024*1024 bytes
    => 2 TB = 2*1024*1024*1024*1024 bytes

    S.I.D. CrAzY memory card absolutely has 64*10^9 bytes and my harddrive has 2*10^12 bytes as well, so you can't say that the advertising is wrong.

    Computers don't use the traditional decimal system to measure this kind of stuff though, so if you divide those numbers by 1024^3 (in the second case by 1024^4, since that's being measured in Terabytes) you'll get the ammount of GB (TB in second case) these storage mediums have in the binary system:

    (64*10^9)/(1024^3) = 59,604644 (...) GB
    (2*10^12)/(1024^4) = 1,8189894 (...) TB

    The funny thing is that these shenanigans have been going on almost from the beginning of personal computing. The industry did not play around when memory was in the KB phase, but once it hit the megabyte, the decimal vs. binary started showing up and for some reason there has never been enough consumer outrage to discontinue the practice.

    I don't remember the context - maybe it was the initial modems, but there was some advertising that used XXX Bits rather than XXX Bytes making it seem larger or faster since 8 bits = 1 byte...

    The space is used for system files. In Vita memory cards case considering there's no OS installed I bet the extra lacking space is used for anti-piracy measures which would also explain why the transfer rate of the damn thing is so slow.

    I played A LOT of Destiny in the first 2-3 months post release and really regret the time wasted. It's one of the top contenders on my list of "greatest games that never were".

    Bungie's mistakes with Destiny are only rivalled by Sony's mistakes with Vita IMO.

    @Der-Kleine and Pluto: Thanks guys for the detailed explanations. You must have simplified things a LOT, because I actually understood the thing now (trust me I'm dumb when it comes to techy things) and it's really clear to me now lmao. What also makes me laugh is that Nintendo introduced "blocks" when it comes to their space management (I think it's like 8 blocks for 1 MB?). And it's hilarious to see how they have extended the complications and convertions even more lol.

    @Lucian: I don't personally own the game but I've been reading the same reactions as yours from gamers. So you understand now the sad sobs at the end of the vid huh?
    By the way, I just finished Grim Fandango on Vita and it's also a missed opportunity to re-introduce the game for the current generation. Had the game crash twice on me, saving takes forever (ok 1 min but still), Manny's animation is crappy as hell (sometimes he kinda revolves around himself when interacting with other characters).
    The story and dialogues are instand classic but the game really has aged poorly when it comes to adventure games. I was like 7 when it was first released so I have never played it.
    Sometimes it wasn't clear where I could move myself? For example I never noticed there was a room on the right of the lobby at the beginning, whereas there were pointers revealing a place on the left of it. Donno if I'm making sense?

    I don't play Destiny but I watched the video anyway. I didn't quite understand what happened. I saw him going through a ton of menus, talking to some people and then I heard him sobbing at the end. Would you mind explaining what happened?

    On the PS4 you can remotely hand the controller over to a friend so they can help you get past a point or show you something, in this case I think it was a stranger he gave control to during a live stream, needless to say stranger was a bit of an arse and deleted characters and loot. If it's the video I think it is.

    Think if someone had done that to characters you worked hard at in Borderlands 2, much the same result.

    I saw the video too. Sad that a fellow gamer would do that to someone else. Kid would've been able to save his characters had he not left though. All he had to do was to hit the PS button on his controller to regain control of his system.

    Yeah pretty much what september and darkhorse stated. The kid was promised a glithch to gain a level faster in-game. He handed control to the stranger and left the ps4 unattended for a while.
    The stranger went on deleting a high level weapon and like 100-hour worth of characters.
    When the kid came back and saw what had happened he tried to play it cool at first but started sobbing when he realised the damage.
    It's sad to see people saying the kid deserved that for trusting strangers or wanting to use a glitch on a game. But come on who wasn't curious about a glitch that let you bypass a never-ending level-up system, and it's just a gaming system (not like he jumped into a car with a stranger). So much victim shaming in the gaming community.
