I missed your post but you were right about the games, good eye!

Also, I'm assuming you're being sarcastic but I want to double check. I see the Vita, Shield, and what I'm assuming to be the Shied Tablet. However, it doesn't look like you have a lot of Vita games. Maybe you're the type who doesn't waste money on buying enough games to last a person 9 lifetimes?

Also, I wanted to say I love this thread and the people in it. That one post I said a lot of crap about the Vita and you all, and most of you did not throw a single insult back. You're all awesome. Sorry that I crushed your hopes and dreams of being rid of me forever!

Thanks for the info. Yes I'm very much like you. I've never played a PC game though and I'm not going the PS4 or Xbox route. I like handhelds and I switch between the vita, 3ds xl and iPad mini. Why can't Nintendo bump the resolution up on their 3ds to more modern specs and not tack on another $300 to the retail price? Oh well the new version sounds very enticing on some levels and not so much on others. Thanks for sharing your knowledge:)

I buy almost all of my games digitally (except for those three, either to save memory card space at the time (in the case of uncharted and Sly Cooper) or to save money in the case of NFS, which was €50 digitally and €20 at the time).

Also that's not a Shield Portable, it's just the Shield Controller for the Shield Tablet (which can also be connected to a Shield Portable or PC with a GeForce GPU). It's actually the first controller I have ever owned, so now you know how much experience I have with home console gaming...

I actually don't use my Shield Tablet that much for gaming, but it's great for reading stuff in bed, watching YouTube (I love the built in speakers!) and... you didn't guess it: Drawing. I still almost exclusively use my Vita for playing games on the go, since it's much more portable, I can't just pull an 8" tablet out of my coat pocket like I can with my Vita.

Nvidia GameStream is also pretty sweet, although with our wifi network it only works well when no one else is at home and using the router. Still, Remote Play just can't compete with that silky smooth 60fps stream. :p

I find it kind of ridiculous how Nintendo doesn't even want to pack in a charging cable with their $200 device, when a Vita for the same price comes with more powerful hardware, a larger memory card and even a game bundled in. There's just no excuse for that.

Ah, okay. That's a pretty cool setup you have there with the Shield tablet. I never would have guessed that it would be good for stuff like drawing.

I was wondering about the Vita. I've seen a lot of your videos, so I was wondering if you had a lot more games that were digital. I guess I'm kind of the opposite of you. I love having the physical games, but will grab the digital version of its a lot cheaper. I do have a whole lot of digital games on my Vita, but I'm sure you saw my mountain of physical ones too.

Edit: Speaking of your videos, do you think you'll make one for Helldivers?

Yes it's ridiculus. And because of the current weak Canadian dollar to the American it costs $229.99 up here in Canada with no charger! Crazy times we are living in. The only physical vita game I have is Little Big Planet. Everything else is digital. My digital games are Spelunky, Zen Pinball( Plants vs Zombies), Child of Light, Terraria, TxK, Resogun, Switch Galaxy Ultra, Fez, Lumines, and The Swapper. I'm enjoying the vita very much! I think one day I'll get a grip though because my hands are large and my fingers are a tad long. Does anyone have Switch Galaxy? I'm having an issue with the story mode. I'm five levels in at "Merak" whichs requires 7 tantalum. I only have 6. When I try to replay a previous level to get more tantalum I select them with the"X" button but nothing launches. I'm stuck it seems unless I'm missing something. Any help would be appreciated

Yeah, I buy most of my games digitally because it's just way more convenient. Since getting a 16 GB memory card storage space really isn't that much of a problem either, I currently have like 12 games installed on my Vita at once. If I want something new, finding one to delete (if that's even necessary) isn't much of a problem.

I will absolutely make a gameplay video for Helldivers!

So regarding the Stylus on the Shield Tablet, it's actually pretty cool: It's a passive sylus, so it's nothing really fancy (No batteries, no hovering above the screen detection, etc.), but the tablet has an incredibly sensitive screen that can make out the exact size of the tip touching it and in doing so detect how hard you're pressing the screen with it. It can also distiguish between your finger and the stylus most of the time. The stylus doesn't actually work with other touchscreens, because they can't detect something that small as far as I know. Overall it's not the most amazing stylus ever, but it's great for someone who just wants to occasionally draw stuff on their tablet, so there's really nothing to complain about. Anyway, I've attached some of the things I've drawn with it, I haven't made much though, since drawing takes time.

Also here's a video showing the steps leading towards the first picture I drew on my tablet (This was back when I was using Nvidia's drawing app, which isn't so great in many respects, although its paint simulation is pretty cool.):

Neat video Der- Kleine. Watching each step and corrections along the way time lapsed is quite fun to watch
Have you tried Procreate on IOS?

I haven't (the newest iDevice I own is an iPod Touch 4 which I don't use anymore), I've been using ArtFlow for everything but that first drawing (The Velocity 2X one), for which I used Nvidia Dabbler.

Just quickly checked out Artflow for android and it looks quite good. I just recently bought Procreate but haven't spent any time with it...lol

I like Procreate, I think it's closest to what I want from an art program when I'm not using Photoshop on PC, but I need to invest in a Jolt Pixelpoint for sensitivity. The Nvidia Shield with touch sensitivity looks spanking, that alone probably would have sold me had I known, is it a pen hack like on iOS or natively supported?

Awesome, can't wait to see your video for Helldivers.

I really liked how made the video showing the steps for your drawings. They're pretty neat. The pen kind of sounds like the Wacom tablet I used to have, with something like 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity and it would sense the rotation and angle of the pen. The Wacom tablet however didn't have a screen built into it. It was an accessory for a PC, in which you would have to watch the monitor when drawing.

Anyways, thanks for sharing that with us.

The Stylus in the Shield Tablet isn't nearly as advanced as a wacom pen, afterall, it works like a really small finger. It's just that for a passive stylus (a stylus with literally no fancy technology in the stylus itself) it's quite accurate and doesn't have much lag. I made a vine if you're interested in seeing how well the pressure sensitivity stuff works: https://vine.co/v/OPtQKnn0HMU

And for it to mistakenly pick up your finger as the stylus you have to tap the screen incredibly lightly.

@September: Thankfully the tablet's software interprets stylus presses as something different than finger presses by default, meaning that apps that can have different functions depending on what you're pressing the screen with can fully use the stylus (For example in artflow I've set it so I can't accidentally draw with my fingers.). Nvidia has actually built some extra features for the stylus into their version of android (which is almost stock android) like the abillity to have a menu with certain apps pop up (you can decide which) when you remove the stylus, a screenshot mode where you can selct certain parts of the screen to take a screenshot of and write on them and a stylus only mode. It's pretty impressive what Nvidia has put into this tablet despite it being marketed for gaming, and the stylus is just another thing you don't get on the $100 more expensive Nexus 9. With that said the Shield Tablet does have some weird issues of it's own...

I figured it wasn't as advanced as a Wavom tablet, otherwise Wacom would be out of business. It's still awesome that the Shield Tablet can do all that stuff though. I never would have thought a gaming tablet would be good for sketches... Thanks for the video though!

Anybody have a Japanese Vita here?

I was thinking of importing a white PS Vita Slim and was wondering if the X/O button switch is something you can get used to easily or if it's too much?

I feel that switching back and forth from a US PS4 and a JP Vita might be difficult.

I haven't tried one but I have read that while the menu is switched, the actual games are normal. You wouldn't have to worry about messing up in game. If it really bugs you, you can learn how to navigate the menu using touch gestures.

Sounds interesting. I've never heard of Jolt Pixelpoint? A little while back when it came out my brother and I were thinking of getting the " Pencil" by 53 but we didn't end up after all . It seems like very clever technology. Think I'll just stick to the old ways of making art , lol

Yeah, I mainly use the touch screen during the menus so I should be good.

Just bought a white PS Vita slim and a 64gb card. Just gotta wait for it to get delivered now.

Sounds really promising, thanks for the heads up. I've always wanted a good little drawing tablet that isn't astronomically priced.

As long as your PS4 is wired you'll love remote play for most things that aren't too HUD heavy.

2048 levels of sensitivity, same as a desktop Wacom (on paper), Wacom have their own pen for iOS but apparently the second revision is bugged hardware side and most recommend using the original even though it has a lower sensitivity range than its successor.

Congrats! The 64gb card is very nice. I invested in one and haven't had to worry about space since.
