I just finished my first play through of MGS2. It was... Strange. It definitely had a Japanese vibe to it. The controls were also pretty annoying... Yet I still loved playing it. Turned out to be such a great game. I would have definitely bought a PS2 if I knew how awesome the game was at the time.
Have you played MGS 3 yet or are you going to do that now? Because if you thought MGS 2 was a great game, wait until you see 3... (Speaking of which, I should probably reinstall the HD collection...)
No I haven't. Good to hear that 3 is great also! I remember when I asked whether or not I should pick it up when it was on sale, and you convinced with a post that took up about 5 screens of my iPad and that was filled with tons of images. I guess I should be thanking you, I can't believe I was considering passing on the collection! Too bad the first wasn't included with it, and that I probably won't be able to play #4.
Yeah, I haven't played 4 either (I don't own any consoles), although I did watch a let's play of it. While I did play 1 it was unfortunately in german (because PS1 games only come in the language of whatever store you're using) and I played it after an update that caused issues with emulating that specific game (sound glitches). Anyway, MGS3 is widely considered the best in the series, and I think you're going to find out why when you play it. It's just incredible.
Must get the collection next time It's on sale, enjoyed 1, 4 and Ground Zero but have never played 2, 3 or Peacewalker. Revengence wasn't really an MGS title and got bored of it pretty quickly.
IMHO MGS1 and MGS4 are among the best games ever made and much better than the other Metal Gear titles, which is not to say that MGS2-3-PW-etc aren't also amazing. MGS4 was the game that made me buy a PS3, even so many years later it's still a freaking spectacular game.
4 was very good yes, but then I haven't played 3. Edit: Although the 50 minutes of cutscenes for the ending was pushing it a bit, the actual playable lead up to the end before was top notch though.
If I delete borderlands 2 from my Vita would I be able to get it and all the DLC packs back for free?
Yes. If you want those things back, simply go to your download list from the store and download again for free. OR you can backup BL2 and your dlc to your computer or ps3/4 with "content manager" so you don't have to download again. And backup through USB. Don't bother with Wi-Fi (too slow).
If you have PS+ you can back up your save game in the cloud, that saves a lot of time compared to having to back up the whole game on your PC or console.
Easy/individual way is to click on the PS+ icon on the games launch page, it'll give you options to auto upload and upload now.
I started playing MGS3: Snake Beater and.... it actually has a good camera! Hurray! Also, I'm jacking up some alligators with my knife. Mwahaha.
Is anyone hyped for Shovel Knight? Coz you should be. I bought it yesterday on sale for 10$ on my 3DS, and it's easily one of the most challenging platformers of recent times (for me anw). Also have a great year everyone.
There you are! I've been trying to find the rock you've been hiding under... Anyways, is that game coming to vita?
I am, it's coming up in many best of 2014 lists and rightly so, it's a wonderful little game. I have it on Wii U and it's easily one of the best (if not THE best) retro games I ever played, and that's coming from someone really fed up with the genre (because most of its games just use the "retro inspiration" as a good excuse for lazy ass graphics / sound / gameplay).
So for my vita I have so far: uncharted golden abyss, Gravity Rush, need for speed most wanted, borderlands 2, steam world dig, velocity 2x, terraria, escape plan and resogun (all the indies I either got free with PS+ or bought on the PS4 and got it via cross-buy) what else is a must-buy?
