I bought the first trilogy when it went on sale for like 9$. Fell in love with the very first game, then they dropped the ball with the second and third. Couldn't even force myself to play through the beginning (ennemies respawn/confusing "open world"/allies' phases that bore to death/drag on and on and on/). So yeah from what I read the consensus was that the first game was the best in the whole series, the second the worse and the Vita game on par with the third game (tolerable). I'd look up some videos on youtube since the gameplay is "special".

@Anu: Aww I'm happy you finally caved in during the holiday sale! This game is a pure gem and it'll be over real quick so it's not that time investing-heavy. Boot it up when you can!

It's not bad, although the games do get a little repetetive, Sly 2, 3 and Thieves in Time are almost the same game.

If it's cheap, I'd say go for it.

Will do, thanks for the recommendation! Also, a while ago you showed me all of your platinum trophies and I was impressed. So, in honor of you I decided to try to get my own platinum trophy for a game. I picked Final Fantasy X... I don't know how you do it, it took me forever to get that trophy! I must admit, I envy your platinum awesomeness.

Good luck on FFX! I have been meaning to play both X and X-2 since forever but I wanted to reduce the huge backlog first.
Are you talking about that Choco race trophy? I heard it was tricky. Try the "avoid getting hit 200 times in a row with lightning" thing lmfao.

Thanks Anubis! Very nice of you to give some helpful personal takes on games you like. I'll keep this in mind. Last night I purchased Terraria, TxK, and child of Light. Since it was late I only tried TxK and it's quite fantastic. I noticed Child of Light has quite a few add ons.....are any of them really necessary to purchase before starting the game? Thanks in advance. Won't be able to get much gaming in right now because of the holidays anyways

It's good, best of the 4 Sly games IMO. Much better on PS3, though, but if I remember correctly you don't have one (really should, some of the best games ever among its exclusives).

One nice thing about it (for those that like trophies and also have a PS3) is that it's one of the very few titles that are cross-buy (at least the PS3 version that I bought, not sure about the Vita one), cross-save and have 2 separate trophy lists, so I got the Platinum on Vita, cross-saved and just watched the entire trophy list pop on PS3 in like 2 minutes :D

Go to this site when you're trophy hunting. Will help you immensely, certainly saved me a few hundreds of hours of frustration :)

Whoops, being a bit sleep deprived I ended up talking like a drunk. I meant to say I just finished getting the platinum trophy for Final Fantasy X, just for you. I've been working on it for quite some time, and it was quite a pain. I managed to get all of the celestial weapons, I completely filled all the sphere grids, I found all the primers, I killed penance, I did it all! However, it took me way too long. I don't know how you have gotten so many platinum trophies.

Sorry, like I just told nemerleb I meant to say I just finished getting the platinum trophy for FFX. I don't know how he does it, it took forever just to get this one platinum trophy! That site would have came in handy, I ended up missing one primer that was missable so I had to make a new game and go halfway through it again just to get it! Ahhhh! Well, I'll be sure to check it out before I do FFX-2!

No problem, I'm an odd person so I may have an odd taste in games. It sounds like you are starting a nice little collection though. You may want to ask nemerleb about Child of Light since I just bought it and haven't even played it yet.

Oh, and by the way I just saw a glimpse of the future. You're going to end up like me one day, with millions of Vita games and only time to complete one every couple of months...

Excellent I can't wait to have mental paralysis from over choice but I must say I'm used to it having an enormous hoard of iOS games that no human could ever play through. What a ridiculous time we live in.......just kidding it's wonderful !

RPGs are by far the games that take the longest time to Platinum, most other genres are way faster (e.g., Dragon Age Inquisition took me over 140 hours while Murdered: Soul Suspect less than 10).

Dang! I do have the platinum for Resistance, but there was only one trophy I had to go out of my way to get. It was something like play a round of multiplayer. That's why I don't really consider that a game that I platinumed. I didn't even like that game too much in the first place.

Well tbh 6 isn't all that much. The only ones I struggled with were Guacamelee (those damn orbs and chalenge rooms) and Velocity Ultra. And oc now your original post makes more sense lol. CONGRATS! I bet you're so turned off from FF now that you won't hop directly onto FFX-2 amiright? Like Lucian said that site is very good for trophies. Usually I just skim through a game's list to see what I can expect achievement-wise as to avoid restarting a new game like you did.

@Capricorn: the DLC for Child Of Light consist in bonus costumes (Light and Dark pack) and Occulis which you can already find in-game. The only DLC I cared about was "The Golem's Plight" which has a bonus quest and additional character to play with. In case of doubt you can search through the desktop version of Sony's shop and you have detailed descriptions of what's included. Like this: X

Thank you. Yeah sorry for typing like a drunk. I do wish I could attach a comment to the platinum trophy. I would put "In Honor of Nemerleb" on it.

I'm not going to jump on FFX-2 right away, but that's more so because I'm a bit tired of jRPGs in general. I really enjoyed my time with FFX. It was also one of the first games I bought for my system, so it isn't like I platinumed it in a week or two.

I attached that comment to my heart. And that's what matters the most.

Trine Enchanted Edition is coming to PS4 this tuesday as a digital download and I am positive the Vita could have handled it ughh.

PS: if you aren't going to get drunk every single day this time of year, then I don't see when you should.

It is, but definitely not for everyone just like the other games from that studio (Flow and Journey).
