The cool part is that this tech exist. It plays better than I expected but at times when things got a tad hectic, things started to go down hill with lag. Aside from that, there's always just a slight delay in controls. It seems to be playable and probably more so with genres like RPGs that don't need instant reactions. What could be potentially bad is that porting titles could cannibalize this service. As in why would they port a PS3 or even PSone/PSP game when they can stream it to you for potentially more profit. That would be my biggest concern. Neat technology, not sold on the very idea or implementation.
Wow OK. So basically software-wise an OS update can fix those issues you encountered, and business-wise we can agree that it/s just an experiment by Sony to see where it goes for future gen. Right?
PsNow is dumb, but if it stops them from just porting games to fill the in gaps, that's not a terrible thing, is it? I mean we don't need HD-er versions of everything, do we? I'd rather they spent the time making new games.
PSNow is just a dead project while Vita is a portable console for using everywhere, not just in front of fast internet connection. So my connection is low I skip and ignore it, Waiting for real games instead of stupid Team Viewer.
There is only one thing that would make me try PSNow, and that is Demon Souls. Sadly, THERE IS NO DEMON SOULS! Bah!
Question I dug out my Vita last night to download Minecraft for my kidz and I thought I'd buy Vib Ribbon as well. Minecraft was okay (still don't understand it though) but Vib Ribbon says it can't download on my system. Just wondered if anyone else had the same problem or is Vib Ribbon okay for them?
Especially when they sell them at the same price of a new game, GTA V sold a bucket load last gen, now they're wanting the same again (PSN price is actually $21 more than I paid for the PS3 version on launch), no upgrade option, no love... just a 2 for 1 sale of stupid in game currency. Sorry yes it's a bit off thread and I'm bitter.
Looks like the Playstation/Vita TV is pretty poor which is a shame, I don't think I've done any more than charge and update the OS on my Vita for the last 6 or so months. Still think it could have been an absolute killer handheld if it had of had half of the support the PSP got but at this point I'm pretty much giving up.
If only they poured their resources in actually making games and marketing the thing, rather than fail again with TV. The thing is Vita IS getting support but only in Japan. We're getting just the tip of the iceberg localized and only getting support from western indies with 15/20$ 3 hour games.
I'll agree with something on the ign podcast: this was going to be Japan-only but it bombed and they're dumping left over ps tv stock in the US.
Well I love my Vita and play it all the time, but I'm not that much in to AAA games. I love Indie games, primarily.
While I wish that the Vita would get more big-budget games, at least the Indie games it gets are usually of much higher quality than what you'd find on iOS & Android.
Let me re-phrase that: successful consoles can't rely solely on indies. That's how Nintendo turned the tide with 3DS: by churning out the big guns and pushing agressively with their franchises. So yeah while indies are extra cool to have around, you need balance (if not more big name franchises) to sell the thing. That's why it's doing "good" in Japan (with known companies making AAA games for it) but selling so badly in the West.
I just got Ridge Racer while it is on sale, stylish and has a great image, but game is so ####ing hard,I can not even beat the first match, need a tutorial?
