Yeah. I just didn't wanna wait until next year. Mainly wanted to get some bravely default action. I will say I must have forgot how heavy this thing is. It's like a small brick. The biggest drawback is the screen resolution which is immediately obvious. The thumb stick is butter smooth though. I now have every handheld that matters which appeases me.

You are totally right of course. Honestly I die a little every time I hear the hinge make that crack sound twice when I open it. Just wait until it breaks completely, coz that's what everyone is saying (no matter how much you take care of it). Nintendo doesn't make them like they used to tbh.
Haha, those hinge cracks are more of a sign that your hinge is still sturdy though I will say the 3DSXL does at times seem very cheap, but at other times I take a look at it and I can't help but marvel at its beauty. And I'm a bit used to the weight now. I will probably go for the smaller New model though, because it'll be the best of both worlds. Now, on topic. I'm so jealous of you Vita owners because you're getting Axiom Verge
Off topic. Apologies Well despite my claims about NOT getting Borderlands, The PreSequel - not only am I getting it, but the Seasons Pass as well. My son agreed to go in halves, and I'm getting it digital, so we can both play at the same time (I have an original Fat PS3). So, I looked at a bunch of youtube reviews, and it looks like GB is not going to be so stingy with reasonable weapons, and is going to make the enemies more reasonable to deal with. I too can post some impressions, but will probably make a separate thread in the lounge for this.
I didn't know about this hinge issue.. That stinks. It is a well made device though, I just wish Nintendo injected just a bit more performance into their handheld, mainly resolution. Nintendo has never been about performance though. The bright side is they have a disgusting amount of games available. Sony seems to have morphed the smartphone/handheld quite well with the Vita and its touchscreen. It's one slick piece of tech for sure. I'm just tired of these monster hunter type games. It feels like the Vita is really the monster hunter game adapter - much like how I used to joke about the original xbox being the Halo TV converter. If the 3DS and the Vita could somehow become one, it might destroy all other gaming platforms.. I'll need to look into this Axiom Verge you soeak of, JCho.
Whaaat? None of you have heard of it? Crazy awesome Metroidvania made by one guy. Coming exclusively to PS4 and PS Vita (well, and PC). Funny enough, Dan Adelman (previous Indie boss at Nintendo) is helping the dev ship it. But hey, at least us 3DS guys are getting Shantae 3 and Xeodrifter! (Be jealous. Be very jealous.)
You got to be kiddin me? right? 3DS is a dead console and most for platformer games....(just don't look at sales,yeah cheap cars are good for selling) Shantae 3 and Xeodrifter???? are you ok? you better find similar games on iOS instead and leave the Vita alone for adult and real hardcore gamers... Although we have similar games like them on Vita as well (or coming up)
We have 2 big AAA games till end of month: Samurai Warriors 4 Freedom Wars Damn i want all of AAA and adult PS VITA games....so hungry...
