I have an 8gb card, it's fine for me as I won't buy digital games anymore, it's physical or nothing, so my card only has to hold saved game files and they are small.
I can't believe people even buy an 8gb card almost as much as I can't believe Sony sells them. The most unbelievable? That they have 1gb built into the slim, and you can't even use it in addition to a memory card. Who are the target users for this, especially when fewer and fewer games are getting physical releases? Anyone else buy Vib Ribbon? I haven't played it since I had a PS1 import copy, but it was an instant purchase for me this morning.
Uninformed buyers. Also 8GB cards constitute the majority of game bundles here (you get the 8GB along with codes for like 8 games); so that when you go to download said games, you find yourself out of memory and have to re-purchase a bigger card. What bothers me the most, is that Sony isn't regulating the market for Vita cards. I always see price differences up to 10 euros between sellers. And this is shocking and disgusting from Sony.
Well I got my 8 GB memory card as a preorder bonus for Preordering my Vita back in 2012. It was actually a pretty awesome deal: 250€ for a Vita (the regular price) + an 8GB memory card (worth 35€ at the time) + a 15€ PSN Giftcard, I technically only payed 200€ for my Vita at launch!
I've been burnt buying digital. I bought Sword Art Online, cost me £32, total waste of money, I didn't play more than 2-3 hours and I cannot trade it in or give it away. It's dead money. I'm through with digital and if that means I miss a couple of great games, so be it.
I wouldn't pay $32 (or whatever currency) on a download game unless I already knew I loved it and it was worth it. Most download games don't cost anywhere near that much. You can also wait for sales. Speaking of download games, Pix the Cat is actually pretty great! If you liked Pac-Man Championship Edition you will probably love this. Sort of like Pac-Man, but there is an element of snake to it too. Also very catchy music. I recommend it. It is free with PS+ in the US and Europe, but I think it would be worth the asking price too.
Yeah, always make sure that you think the game you're about to buy will be worth the askingprice to you. Speaking of Pix the Cat... Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Well, I recieved the fabled 64gb card today. Sadly the directions were in Japanease so I couldn't operate it. It did burn nicely for a total of 7 seconds.
Aw man... Usually I'm not the kind of person to say "karma" but I was backing up my vita and it froze at 24gb/27gb... I had to hard reset my vita and all. That has never happened to me but the one day I decide to joke around about how to use a memory card it happens.
I have found that if you get a nice charcoal fire going, the chips are quit pleasant to look at as they burn. Lots of pretty colors, and an occasional spark and pop. Back in the days of floppy drives, we used the clean the drives with a nice slice of toast. Really got the drives humming again, and cleaned all the old data off the reader heads. I wish you good success with your memory card. Bummer about the backup, hope you get it sorted ok. I got the freebies off of PS + but not a chance to play them yet. Too absorbed with Diablo 3 on the PS4. It is consuming many hours of free time.
Oh, it went out in a blaze of glory. Not the packaging of course, I recycled that. Out of curiosity, did you eat the bread afterwards? I feel like it would have quite a unique taste. Thank you, I was able to backup my card and restore it on the new one. Now I have over double the space I had before. I should be good to go for the rest of my vita's lifespan. I'm glad you're enjoying Diablo. Who doesn't adore Diablo? Oh wait, you're talking about the game. Yeah I'll be in a similar position in a week when Borderlands comes out.
I am very, very, very suspicious of Borderlands. Loved the first one, sort of loved the second. A bazillion weapons, but who really cares when the bazillion weapons are under- leveled pieces of crap? I mean, you want some cheap swamp land in FL? If the reasonable, good weapons are difficult to obtain, then Borderlands won't get my money until it's selling for about $5 or is free on PS plus. If they are not so stingy with their high falutin' orange weapons, I'll bite.
So...random question about how PSN games work... If it's available on PS3 and PSP - shouldn't that mean it would play on a PS Vita? I mean it plays on PSP so..right? I believe I remember reading something about this being possible, but why wouldn't they also tag it PSV? Example: Suikoden is a PS One Classic but only tagged as PS3 and PSP. Edit: Nevermind. After a bit more research, it seems only some are compatible. Supposedly the PSN store shows only the PSP games that are compatible. For some reason I thought they all were...
I love the series, but for some reason the pre-sequel isn't really capturing my attention. Maybe it's being fixed to single type of environment when half the wonder is diversity. Or maybe I'm just assuming its limitations unfairly.
I understand why you two are suspicious. I kind of was too, but I was able to preorder for $35 and those games have never let me down before. Legendary weapons I understand why they are uncommon... They're usually really freaking good. So I don't think they should rain down unless they nerf them a bit. Purples and Blues weren't so bad, though it would be nice if they got a small boost so that more people would use them. The biggest thing I'm worried about is the environment also. I loved in BL2 how much diversity there was. It never made the game get old. With the pre-sequel, I doubt there is going to be much variation. As a Borderlands lover, it is required for me to bite the bullet and play it for better or for worse. Also, if you guys want some of my thoughts when I play it I'll be happy to tell you two.
