My Vita arrived today and I've just spent an hour playing with it. First impressions:- I like the look of it, it feels nice and comfortable in my hand. Build quality seems good, doesn't feel like a toy. On the other hand.. It's rather small.. Or do I have huge hands? My right thumb covers all four buttons at once and them seem tiny. The ui.. What can I say, it's probably the most hideous ui I've used in the last decade. It looks like a kid used a 'free gif clip art' cd to create it.. Ughhh I can't judge the games yet, I'm downloading demos atm. I did try the Toukiden demo and it looks really nice but oh my.. I found it hard to control because the sticks and buttons are so very small. I hope in time I get used to it. ...tell me everyone feels this way at the beginning? I found my built in storage vanished when I plugged my 8gb card in.. I expected to have 9gb of storage but no.. Just 8? Anyway mixed feelings but the unit seems nice.. Albeit with a hideous ui.
Yes, it's a portable console and we're all adults here (I believe) so the buttons are small. Yes you'll get use to it. Regarding storage, yes just whatever memory card you have is the storage you have, it doesn't combine. It's amusing youre having mixed feelings about a console you have yet to play a game on.
Like I said I did try the Toukiden demo but struggled with the controls. I guess it's because it's new but I can't hide the fact I'd like it to be a big bigger then I'm not pressing two buttons at once hah At least the buttons feel good, unlike the hideous shield buttons Ughh.
Yeah the UI visually is probably one of (if not the) worst examples I've seen, functionality is fine but it does make me cringe even now. Btw, let's know how you get on with remote play stability (with no downloading going on in your network) would like to know if something's changed my end or through an update.
Congrats on your new vita! By the way, I was only messing with you the other day. Welcome to the community! When I first got it, my hands would cramp so bad after about 20 minutes of playing. Now that doesn't happen to me anymore and I actually find it comfortable now. I also hate the UI. I'm surprised they didn't have rainbow backgrounds to go with it and make it so when you shake the device flowers fall down. It can be such a pain to organize your apps and games, especially since folders are so limited. I really wish they would redo it. Anyway, enjoy your new vita! Hopefully it becomes more comfortable to use for you.
