Haha it's all good, I was worried there was a new game called Freedom Force and I was just assuming you meant Freedom Wars.

It does look pretty awesome, I just hope it is difficult. Not cheap, but kind of like Monster Hunter. In Monster Hunter I don't usually go into a fight assuming I will win. When I played Soul Sacrifice Delta, I always assumed I would win the fight. Both are great, but I enjoy Monster Hunters difficulty more.

Also, is there a release date for the states yet? I hope it comes out this year.

Like I'm sensing it's kinda similar to Botanicula where you randomly interact with stuff and see what the outcome would be. But here you control the snake. However is it on rails? I always see the snake looping and stuff but does it always do that? So many questions!!

However EVERYONE should pick up The Swapper; it's a puzzle game where you clear puzzles by cloning yourself using a kind of lamp. It gets really tricky in later levels with a lot of elements introduced to keep the formula fresh.

I played Hohokum at TGS last year, and it was easily one of my favorite games of the show. It's one of my most looked forward to games of this year. If you like games like Katamari Damacy, Loco Roco, and Noby Noby Boy, this is probably right up your alley.

But can you give more details about the actual gameplay? The games you listed have one thing in common: quirckiness. But when it comes right down to it, they don't compare at all in gameplay.

If you watch any preview videos, you should have a decent idea of what the game is like. You fly around as a line snake thing, pick up passengers and other things, take them to places where they interact with the environment, and that usually changes the world in some way that opens it up to more things you can do and look at. If you wiggle the characters, you can get it to move faster, and there are a lot of silly things to do, some of which involve poop in a whimsical manner.

It's the kind of game that you play to take in great art, experience things at your own pace, and listen to the awesome music. It's also the kind of game that would go perfect with a bowl.

I just had a stupid blonde moment. On the bottom of my vita there is a serial code sticker thing. Starting a few weeks ago it started peeling just a little. I didn't want to peel off because I thought it may be important and would look funny if it came off. Yesterday, I picked up my vita and saw it was almost completely peeled off. That's when I realized that it wasn't the sticker with the serial code, but just a clear piece of plastic protecting it.

I just pre-ordered Rogue Legacy and Hohokum. I'd get The Swapper too, but I've had it on Steam for a long time and still haven't gotten around to it. Then again, I also have Rogue Legacy on Steam... but I've actually played it a bit and know I need it on my Vita.

CounterSpy looks cool too, and I remember thinking I'd like to play it when they first announced it, but I just don't know enough about it to pull the trigger yet.

Anyone know if these pre-order sale games are cross buy? I pre-ordered Rogue Legacy for the PS4, but would love to get it for the Vita as well - currently it shows up as another cost - but I don't know if that will change once it actually goes on sale...

Awesome, thanks for the link. It doesn't really describe why it's hard though. I wonder if it's something along the lines of the AI is too complex or if it's more along of getting killed in one hit. I think a game that did difficulty really well was Dark Souls. The game itself wasn't very hard, but it punished you for every mistake you made. I hope Freedom Wars is kind of difficult like that. Anyways, if the Japanease are complaining they are probably going to nerd the difficulty big time before it hits the West.

Ok then - which are must buys?

Rogue Legacy is the only one I really know of. The others are less well known. Ant advice?

I own The Swapper on Steam and recommended it previously; it's a puzzle platformer where you have a torchlight that gives you the ability to clone yourself wherever you can aim to solve puzzles. It gets trickier since new elements are introduced like platforms the clones need to be standing on or rays that block the torchlight's aim.

Rogue Legacy is a metroid-vania-like but the twist is that each time you die, you pass on your money/skill/tree/weapons to your "child" that has random traits but also disadvantages (some are very funny like dwarfism or reverse walking etc). It's fun if you're looking to de-stress by visiting dungeons and just killing ennemies.

Counterspy and Hohokum are new IPs. While you may have noticed we don't know much about the latter here on the board, counterspy is an action platformer that wants you to sneak up on ennemies, disable cameras etc. You can watch a few videos to see if it's your style of games.

Seriously, Hohokum is GotY. Unless you hate your life and/or fun.

This is disappointing though - or at least makes me nervous about a pre-order. I generally find that Colin's reviews are pretty reasonable.

Well neither - but since I am in the US military, I am not allowed to play any games after having "a bowl." :D

Some of those games (Katamari) I loved, but others (Noby) I did not really care for - I think I will have to wait and see how the final product turns out. Really looking forward to Rogue Legacy though - I am hoping it is going to be a blast.

Am I the only one who doesn't know what you guys mean by "a bowl"? I never can keep up with all of this modern slang and terminology. You guys don't want to know how long it took me to figure out what lol meant.

Did you know it's not a PS Exclusive and coming to iOS?!

So I feel nothing to support it.
