That's the thing with ports though: they will always be compared with the original, and I think (by default) will be knocked down a bit in terms of scoring (except revered games like OoT and old classic games; but that's due to nostalgia). Anyway Vita does have a good year ahead with - La Mulana - The Swapper - Child Of Light - Hyper Light Drifter - Grim Fandango - Teslagrad - Shantae - Pavilion - Danganronpa 2 - Heart Forth Alicia These may be small scale games in terms of production values, but some are pure gems which will last longer than most AAA games (I bought Knytt Underground at like 15$ and the map is so huge it will take 30h to finish it). Mix that with the slew of 3DS games (Persona Q, Shantae, Pokemon, Smash Bros, Layton, Ace Attorney, Shovel Knight) that's coming over and handhelds can hold their own when put against iOS games.
The thing is that it isn't just the ports that get compared to console games but the exclusive games as well. Also some games that I think are missing from that list: - Helldivers - Counterspy - Volume
Don't you think it's because Sony is marketing the Vita as a portable home console that reviewers feel free to do that? You don't see the 3DS getting bashed for stuff like that.
Wait, La mulanaa is coming to vita? I got that game for pc for like a dollar and ended up loving it. I would definitely buy that for vita.
It was literally the only Vita game Sony really announced for the Vita during E3 as far as I know (Other than the multiplatform stuff during the press conference) Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
It sucks it was the only game, but I loved this on pc. I can't wait for this on vita. Thanks for the info and trailer by the way.
Another nail to the coffin by SONY http://www.p4rgaming.com/sony-we-never-meant-for-the-vita-to-play-video-games/ I was the lead architect for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita, so I designed the Vita to be a companion piece to the PlayStation 4, explained Mark Cerny, This may not make sense considering the PlayStation 4 was released nearly two years later, but it made sense to us considering we viewed the Vita as a phone, Facebook machine, and camera first. Sonys Kaz Hirai was president of Sony Computer Entertainment during the production of the Vita and knew that it had potential as a video game playing device. But he also knew that it would not be important in the long run. When we heard that people were buying the Vita for the games, we thought to ourselves that they were eventually going to be disappointed, said Hirai in a recent interview about E3, We werent wrong. Vita means life, not games. Just because something can play video games on it does not mean it is a video game machine. We clearly state on our website that it is the ideal companion for your gaming lifestyle. A style that should include the PlayStation 4 which has games.
Dang, I have to admit that's pretty messed up. I could make an entire list of what's wrong with that. I used to have an Xbox and hear all of the complaints about how bad Microsoft was and how great Sony is. Everything that has come out of Sony's mouths have made me think otherwise.
I know lol I just wanted to throw out how stupid some of these websites are. But you can blame making these click bait article. Sony actually seems like doesn't care about vita in first place
I replied to you first with a satire of my own, but was afraid to pass for a noob, so I modified it to keep unknowing people from getting bashed. Anyway the article is on point. And I litterally think that Sony head-honchos are maybe starting to convince themselves of these things. It's like they're in a puddle of crap, and really enjoying being in there (sorry for the mental pic).
Whoooops, should've clicked on the article before commenting. Last time I believe any of you all I should blame myself for being so gullible.
But thing is, it's not surprising why some people actually believe when they hear those news because that's exactly what Sony has been doing... Sony isn't making games for vita, no games like uncharted, killzone, Tearaway AC and cod (thanks to terrible devs) All we got this year was half assed bl2 port
Another World next week, 20 years on and still rocking it. Have it on 3 platforms but will grab it again for Vita (3 system crossbuy) anyway.
The frame rate drives me a little crazy, other than that it's fine for me. Speaking of which, anyone know when the next patch will hit?
I'm anxious to hear if it improves the frame rate significantly. Let us know. I'm still interested in either way as a portable BL2 sounds great even if it isn't a perfect port. I'm waiting for a good sale price, though.
