BUT LOOK AT THOSE UNREAL ENGINE 3 GRAPHICS! LOOK AT THEM. Seriously though, is there any other Vita game that actually uses UE3?
LucienOrb may be correct. I almost never 100% any game! much less even finish them. It is fun for me as a casual puzzler, and the crossplay, cross save makes it an easy decision for me. They have a demo to try if you like.
I've been playing Destiny of Spirits since it came out, and it's fun. If you've played any other F2P mobile game, you'll instantly understand how most of the game works... so if that's something you're into, I'd recommend it. I think what sets it apart from other F2P games for me is the art. A lot of people are wishing they could get the Asian spirits, but I think the Americas spirits are mostly better looking.
Too Leave looks a bit strange and interesting: http://www.destructoid.com/to-leave-is-one-of-the-neatest-games-i-played-during-gdc-272809.phtml Coming to Vita (and PS4/Windows/Mac/Linux) sometime this year.
Borderlands 2 Vita trailer (with actual Vita gameplay in it): Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Release window: sometime in May! EDIT: The US release date has been confirmed to be the 13th of May, no news on the release date in other regions. The PS Vita 2000 will be available on May 6th in the US. Screenshots:
Those Textures look even worse then some of the Games I have played on the Wii/WiiU. Did Gearbox screwed up another Game or was the Video created with an early Alpha Build (Low Level Textures)? Anyone have some more Information about it? Really unsure if I will keep my Pre-Order for the Game.
It's certainly no Killzone Mercenary, but downloading those screenshots onto a Vita and looking at them there does make quite a difference. I still think they should have made the lighting and texture quality of your gun better though, considering it's the one thing that's on your screen 98% of the time. They should have at least given the characters blob-shadows as well... By the looks of it the game is at least running at native res (with no anti aliasing), so that probably helps...
The first time I`m really unsure about a Vita Game and I normally buy those just passing by.... that Trailer didn`t helped me at all and this is the first time if it comes to a PlayStation Vita Game To be honest I even had to look it up since I could name more Vita Games that were created with Unity then actually with the Unreal Engine 3. So here is a small List of UE3 Games (Vita): Borderlands 2,Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock,Dungeon Defenders:First Wave,Dungeon Defenders,DUST 514,Injustice: Gods Among Us,Mortal Kombat,Real Boxing
I think it looks pretty good, and on the Vita screen it will probably look better. Small. My main concern would be with the control scheme. How are they adapting it to the Vita?
So have a somewhat less bad solution. Hmm. Well, I'll try it once it gets cheap, but I'm skeptical. Maybe we need the next handheld to really do games like this right.
I wouldn't mind if Sony released a new handheld with new hardware every 2 - 3 years with backwards compatibillity... (kind of like smartphones, but not as often)
I'm ok with hardware tweaks every 2-3 years, but not complete upgrades that cause back catalog issues and developer headaches. I may get the borderlands 2 set and use the second PS vita as my import set. Now to see if that memory card is pre-loaded with BL 2 and if I need more than 8 gb to run Phantasy Star.
They added some games (Killzone Mercenary and PS All-Stars for example) to the list just 5 minutes ago. I was thinking of something similar to how it works with PCs and Smartphones: New hardware, same architecture.
Regarding the graphics of Boderlands 2 on Vita, I'd recommend taking a look at this video on a Vita (just click the link on your Vita and hit download) the game really does look MUCH better in motion on the Vita's screen. My main complaint now is that they should have tried to at least have enemies ragdoll when they die and then immediately fade away rather than just have them explode in a pool of blood. The performance could be a little bit better as well (hopefully that'll change by the time the game comes out)
I have given up on vita. I sold mine and that's why I haven't been here on awhile. I was thinking about picking up vita slim bundle but after seeing BL2 gameplay, nope nope nope. It's not the graphics bothers me, performance issues and such is the main reason. Like just think, if single players is having issues, do you think 4 player co-op would work out? Idk..
Now that the Borderlands Pre-Sequel has been announced for PS3 and Vita is getting the BL2 engine, I'm wondering how long that'll take to make it. The idea of playing as Claptrap is both off putting and interesting at the same time.
