I have Fez on 360, so should really play it there (I only barely started it). Would be nice on Vita, but I need to save my pennies for a PS4.
Ok, now that I've finally managed to take down a blimp in Luftrausers I have to say that the thing you unlock and the trophys you get when doing it for the first time are genius! I'm still disappointed by the lack of weapons, body parts and engines in the game though. Would have loved to see a water pistol and a body that lets you fire backwards (but gives you less health or something).
There is. An engine fires bullets. The issue is the engine is sloooow. And wow Luftrausers caught me off guard. My review: 30 seconds impression: wtf did I just buy? 2 minute impression: omg the flight area is too small! The controls are annoying! 5 minutes: Ooooh! You can fly up a ways and scroll left and right for a while. 10 minutes: Ok, one more game. I think I got the controls down 20 minutes: So ... Many ... Bullets. 30 minutes: one more game . 50 minutes: wait, I forgot to charge the battery. I'll get the cord after this game. 70 minutes: damn battleship! I've got your turret fire timed now. You're going d... (Black screen and flashing battery symbol). Arghh! /endreview
I know, but I mean a body that makes your primary weapon fire backwards. The gungine is too weak to be useful IMO. Also PS Vita Firmware Update 3.10 was just announced, which ups the app icon limit from 100 to 500, lets you share voice messages on your vita, slightly improves parental controls, adds a new calendar app (for some reason), allows you to manage content on your memory card better and has some other small improvements.
I used canon + nuke body + super boost. Note that I think you need to damage the blimp a bit before the nuke will do it in. I thought at first that it destroyed it always, but that's not the case. You need to take some shots at at it. You'll probably have more luck if you shoot at it and ram right into it. That will damage it a fair bit and then BOOM. If you don't want to die while taking out the blimp then I think the laser may be the way to go because you can be far away from the blimp and still hit it. I haven't actually succeed at that, though. Gun engine is weak and slow, but it can help you take out fighters by accident and keep your combo going. But, yeah, overall I'd say it's not a good choice. Of course you have to use it to get all the missions.
My first battleship kill! And yes ... Suicide Nuke Run! Interesting: laser, nuke, superboost combo is called "Batman"
Ok, I just tried Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on Vita ( plus freebie ) and holy hell do the controls suck. I remember someone saying they're that way on purpose but it just makes me want Phantasy Star that much worse.
I finished the demo of Fez and am still on the fence. I'm afraid this is the kind of game where I'll be stuck early on and have to go find walkthroughs to finish, which kind of defeats the purpose of playing a game for me. But, it's such an iconic indie game, I love non-violent games, and I did enjoy what I played. So, on the fence. Anyone care to push me off it? I finished Bit.Trip Runner2 and loved it. I had it on the Xbox360 already, but never finished it, though I did get to the last world (tip: one of the costumes you unlock is an inverted costume for Commander Video. I have trouble with the contrast in this game sometimes and the inverted costume helped a lot). I still find the Vita the perfect device to play indie games. Or maybe games in general.
Jet Car Stunts is coming to Vita (and literally every other platform)... http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/gsb0zo/jet-car-stunts-announcement-trailer
Have you tried assigning the camera movement tothe second joystick? I still have the psp umd and comparing it with the vita version using 2 joysticks is like night and day for me. It feels as playable as the wii u version or the wii version using the pro controls and way better than the 3ds version with only one js. If you havent changed that its done by pressing the screen for a couple seconds 'till a menu pops with all these options.
Actually they changed the way you get to the options menu. It used to be by touching and holding the screen, but since a few firmwares you have to hold down the PS button (to bring up the quick options menu) and there'll be a settings button if you're in a PSP or PS1 game.
Lol, used the claw method on PSP, and STILL used it on Vita. I just got used to it over time. Also, you could attack and rotate camera at the same time. I found that harder to do w/ 2nd analog camera.
Cross buy and Cross save? Great to play it on different platforms, and pick up where you left off. I personally think I am more likely to get stuck later on, as a lot of the cubes are easy to find, but some are well hidden, so the completionist in me will struggle after I open several worlds, then when I need to find the hard cubes, I'll have to go back and search which could be a pain. The game is really well done, and the platforming elements are fun without being frustrating. Death is pretty painless. Is that enough of push?
Didn't really like Fez TBH, was a chore to 100%, not to mention it would be utterly impossible without a guide. Once the (supercool) 3D effect in 2D platforming wears out you're left with a lots-of-slow-backtracking-filled-with-incredibly-obtuse-puzzles game.
Thanks pluto6 and LucianOrb, pluto6 almost pushed me off it, but now I'm still on the fence I think I'll get it at some point, but I realized tomorrow is new PS+ day, and I look forward to playing the Sly Cooper game, and maybe Hotline Miami. I was on the fence about that one too, wondered if it would be too violent for me, so I like that I can now play and see for myself. Speaking of PS+, Smart As is terrible! Or it is just me, but man, I am the target audience for games like this. I LOVED Brain Age on the DS.
