There was a patch that made the patches for KZM smaller sometime in December or January. It's 3777 mb now.
Thanks for the response! Was your card new or used? I remember when the vita came out the cards were really expensive. I think one was over $100? Then again, my memory isn't too great
The memory cards are crazy expensive. The 32 gb was $100 but then it was price cut to $80. The 16gb is now $40. 8gb now $20. Etc. You can find sales for them sometimes though. Back when the 16gb was $60 I got it for $40 at newegg.com. Still too expensive... but you need them so yeah. There is also a 64gb now that is $100 but I believe you have to order it from japan.
Yep memory cards are steep, but still only quarter to a third of the cost Apple charges for its storage space jumps. In other news, for anyone interested... Killzone Mercenary is getting 2 free MP maps tomorrow, Tharsis Depot and Blood Gracht from Killzone 2. No bots yet, but they're hopefully not too far off.
My 32 GB was used. I paid $55 for it (and had a $5.xx ebay bucks certificate that was going to expire, so it ended up just under $50. I would recommend going with a used 32 GB, but sure, having a 64 GB would be nice. I figure I'll buy a 64 GB at some point after they release them in the US, and sell my 32 GB for about what I paid for it. Ideally I'd get a used 64 GB, or maybe an Amazon Warehouse Deals damaged packaging one.
The update with the new Killzone Mercenary maps is already out (in Europe at least), here are my gameplay videos: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Yeah I'll probably do the same. I'm not even sure when the bundle comes out, probably June. So hopefully the prices drop by then, but I doubt it. The bundle comes with an 8gb and I'll probably buy a 32gb used. I mean what is the worst that could happen with a used card? I would just have to format it and probably save a great deal.
No issues with mine, and I can't see how there would be any. The Vita will make you format the card when you boot it up for the first time after installing it.
I just had to post this awesome screenshot. With the Vita's being released two years ago in the EU and US this Saturday (ignoring that one Vita bundle that released a week earlier) it's pretty amazing how good games can look on hardware as old as it.
Killzone Mercenary does look really great. I'm not really a huge fan of FPSs, so it's not really my favorite game, but I don't regret buying it for $8 or whatever it was. I'm plugging away at the campaign periodically. I doubt I'll get much enjoyment out of the online, because I will just get slaughtered, but I'll get my $8 worth I think. Plus it made me finally jump to a 32 GB memory card, and that's had additional benefit.
Too bad Bioshock Vita was just hype train http://youtu.be/xtAOrrrum0k 2K announced that they have *no update* on Bioshock vita.
Gunslugs is a lot of fun and easily worth the $2.49/$1.99 (PS+). It's a port of an iOS/Android game, but of course you get physical controls and trophies. Pretty addicting little pick up and play game. I'm still really loving TxK and am enjoying Rainbow Moon a lot too.
Someone on Metacritic called TxK "poetry in video game form" and that's exactly what it is. I really love it. I thought OlliOlli was so great it would be a while before another great game would come along and then TxK came. I also bought the TxK soundtrack which I never do but "Laser Everywhere" is my new favorite song (and I don't even usually like electronic music).
Spelunky also has a great soundtrack too and it's worth buying (if you love Spelunky, which I do). I am considering picking up the TxK soundtrack too.
If in doubt, just listen on that web site. It's free to listen to that way. It really is a great soundtrack!
Thanks for that link, I've been thinking about buyin the soundtrack too, which is also rare for me. I find myself in the supermarket saying "laser... laser everywhere..."
