I'm reading around the net that their planning to bring Playstation Now to android devices as well, can't even imagine trying to play them on a touchscreen so I'll be sticking with my Vita. I think the android move will definitely hurt vita sales again though it was one of the few things it still had going for it, I really think sony have handled the whole thing right from the start very badly.
Playstation Now is interesting. The Vita TV suddenly became a lot more interesting, but it all depends on the price and the pricing model and how well it works. Is it going to be one sub per account, one sub per device, or something else? What price? Will there be a PS+ discount? How old do games have to be before they show up on the service? How well will it work? I will definitely try a game rental out on PS3 and Vita. Regarding tablets/phones. iOS 7 added support for legit controllers and recently I saw a new one that is a DS3 clone. Playing PS1/PS2/PS3 games on it would suck without that, but if you have one it could work well.
I loved Tearway. I'm not sure I'd say it was GOTY either, but I do think it's a must-buy for Vita owners. It uses the features of the Vita well and stays fun throughout. There's some good Vita (and PS3) sales in the US starting tomorrow: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/01/13/14-for-14-sale-starts-tomorrow-huge-discounts-on-ps3-vita-games/
Whoa, thanks for this. I had no idea this was even a thing— there are a good half dozen things on there that I'm gonna snap up. I'm optimistic about Playstation Now. It's gonna have launch issues for sure, and I'm not sure it'll completely replace backward compatibility. But given that I've been enjoying the PS1 games that Vita has quite a bit, getting access to the whole PS back catalog will be pretty sick.
Velocity Ultra is great and it's only $2 in the US now, if you have PS+. There's a free demo, so no reason not to try it.
Kill zone for $9... And I bought it for 36 just two months ago to get $10 credit. Between this and steam sales it's better to not buy anything in the launch window !
You can't really complain about something going on sale two months after you bought it though. Everything is eventually going to get cheaper, but that doesn't mean we should stop buying stuff.
Only problem with KZ is its huge. My 16 GB has long since filled up and required purging. I pretty much don't want to delete anything else, but I guess I'd have to. I'm not really that big into FPSs so I think I'm just going to pass on it even thought it's a great price. I wish I had a 32 GB card.
I picked up a copy of Hot Shots Golf World Invitational on the cheap ($12.xx). So far I am enjoying it except for the somewhat grating voices. Obnoxious. I hope I can turn the voices off in the settings (I do want to hear the game sounds, just not those voices).
I think that's actually my most played Vita game and one I bought at the same time I bought the console, it's a nice title because you can go back to it every now and again.
It does, but shouldn't be needed in the first place. A trivial thing such as a proper saves manager really had to be built in the OS.
It would easily be the best FPS I've played on a handheld or mobile device, well worth full price let alone the sale. Bots are coming for the MP modes too.
I did buy Killzone, then started looking for a 32 GB card. What's going on? They are sold out everywhere except for 3rd parties selling for jacked up prices (as if the original prices weren't bad enough).
No help on the 32gb sorry... One complaint about KZ, the save system is archaic and not really ideal for this day and age. I'll get over it but it dictates that you need a chunk of time to play through a level which isn't always an option.
