Hmm... I usually just lurk at vita threads at neogaf. There is a new one every month talking about the games that come out that month, etc. The latest: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=725791 Btw Tearaway is awesome. I bought the digital but also just bought the physical because gamestop has it for $20 right now and the cover art is nice. Haha. I guess it didn't sell too well at retail either. so happy to help more I suppose...
Not really a forum as such but it's still a place to see the latest news and comment http://www.reddit.com/r/vita/ I've been using reddit a ton recently mostly down to an app on Android called flow, it's one of the best time wasters I've ever come across.
As mentioned previously, NeoGAF is good, as well as psindependent (they used to be known as psvitaforum).
You know when I bought my first two vita games I almost went back to the store because I thought they had forgotten to include the manual in one of them. I discovered that Vita games don't tend to have paper manuals. I think that doesn't help in the perception of value that people give physical copies. Tearaway could have included a paper atoi/iota to fold yourself, or a color booklet showcasing some of the beautiful art. That may have swayed over some people who now just wait for when it's included in PS+. I know not everybody cares about those things but the way they do it now, with just a gamecard in a box, surely doesn't help. I do agree that the Tearaway cover art is beautiful, and it's a nice touch that it is reversible and you can choose between Atoi and Iota on the cover. I really loved the game. I wasn't sure at first, but it had genuinely touching moments and it was a unique experience, something that is really rare in gaming these days. I was afraid it would be gimmicky, but it didn't feel that way to me. I also came to like the characters so much that I'm actually thinking about going out and buying paper stock so that I can fold some of them myself. I'm not crafty at all, so that says something about the quality of the game for me.
Wanna purchase a fighting game which one is better? i guess Dead or Alive 5 Plus is the best besides hows Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus on vita?
The Tearaway sale at GameStop is good through Dec 21. Thanks for that heads up! Sonic Allstars Racing should hit Plus this week for free.
Minecraft will be out this Tuesday (NA)/Wednesday (EU) for PS3. The Vita and PS4 versions will be next year. No release date news on those, but at least they have the PS3 version out and will now focus on those platforms. NA: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/12/16/minecraft-hits-ps3-december-17th-in-north-america/ They have not said what the price is. Plus they announce it the day before it's released? Probably it doesn't matter. Minecraft kids know Minecraft news.
Got excited and disappointed... Oh well at least we will see how well it runs on ps3 and what version of the game it is
Heads up- anyone interested in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, or any DLCs, buy it now. The 17th is the last day to purchase it from PSN in NA and the 19th is the last day to purchase it from PSN in EU. They are running a 50% off sales on all DLC. It isn't being removed from PSN completely- you can redownload it if you have purchased it. It just won't be available for purchase on PSN any longer, due to Marvel's license with Capcom running out. However, if you can find physical copies, you can still buy it that way. You just won't be able to get every DLC.
PSN (Europe) Deal 9: Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut (PS Vita) Was €12.99/AU$18.45/£9.99, now €5.99/AU$8.85/£4.79
We don't have Minecraft Vita yet, but we will have Terraria for Vita today in NA, tomorrow in EU. I bought it for PS3 and it's a lot of fun. I can see it being a great game to have on Vita. In the US it will be $14.99 ($13.49 for PS+).
Did anybody buy Spelunky during the sale (or already)? If you like the game and want to compete on the Daily Challenge, etc, feel free to send me a friend request. Would love more people on my DC leaderboard. Username is Crunchewy. Let me know who you are in the request and that it's for Spelunky.
I know, and I did, but it was just an example of something they could have done to make the physical game a bit more of an attractive option (exactly because they already have those models made, so it wouldn't cost them all that much to include them in the box). There's a big difference between having something in your hands and having the option to unlock something that you then have to print out on cardstock on a color printer yourself. A booklet would also have been nice. I guess they're in a tough spot though, because presumably Sony doesn't actually want people to buy physical games, they want people to buy digital games at full price (instead of people waiting for the game to be in PS+). In other news: Playstation Mobile is available in more countries today!. (Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and New Zealand). I still can't find Super Crate Box though. I manually browsed through the entire Mobile store and it wasn't there. I think I just give up. May buy Little Acorns again though.
I totally dont like this thread,Toucharcade should add PSVITA sections separately cause its kinda touch screen device.
They'd have to fold the paper with which you'd build Iota or Atoi to fit it in the box, which would completely ruin everything.
Vlambeer is aware of the problem (SCB not showing up) and they are working on it with Sony. I just bought Terraria Vita. I tried the demo last night and sure enough it plays awesome on the Vita. I'm looking forward to getting some digging in tonight! It does support cross-save and cross-play. I am not sure that it has LAN/ad-hoc play, which is a bit of bummer, so I guess my kids and I will need to play local coop by way of the internet .
Terraria is so much fun to play on Vita- even having played the crap out of it on PC. Feels so much different having to start from scratch and get good equipment again (I only ever played with one character on the PC version). I like that you can use the Vita's rear touchpad as a mouse. Works pretty well. So it looks like the Vita version of UMvC3 is completely unaffected by Capcom's Marvel license running out. https://mobile.twitter.com/Capcom_UK/status/413260578233122816?screen_name=Capcom_UK I wonder if it has something to do with Sony's 'all Vita games must be available digitally' stipulation.
