Thanks, I figured as much, but hoped I was wrong anyway. I am a bit bummed. I can import a physical copy of DJMax (which is great - yay for region free consoles), but I was really looking forward to finally playing Parappa the Rapper. Maybe it'll come at a later date. Plenty of other games to play for now.

Been watching the PS4/Vita remote play videos on IGN and they have me sold on getting a Vita after I grab my PS4. Appears to be a lot more practical now that remote play is handled via hardware and developers only need to remap the controls. NFS:R, BF4 and AC4 are some of the titles they're currently showcasing, would be a great combo when my wife is watching something on telly that I'm not interested in.

The whole remote play concept seems to have matured a lot.

I got the new terms of service on my Vita several days ago. I didn't end up in a login loop, so I guess I'm lucky.

I ended up in a login loop, but since you just have to log in to your SEN account on any other device and accept the ToS it really wasn't too big of a problem.

For those that liked the original game, Flower is a perfect port, cross-buy and with a separate trophy list. Just hope they do the same with Flow and Journey :)

I ended up having to do the fix after all, I didn't have any kind of loop I don't think but I did get logged out of PSN almost seconds after logging in each time. I did the second fix on the article and seem to be good again.

I bought it, and it's great! Game looks so beautiful on the Vita, and runs at a smooth 60 frames. It is subnative res, but it's not much lower than native vita resolution- nowhere near as low as games like Gravity Rush, Uncharted, NFS, or AC.
    Some gameplay:

Is that actually fun to play, or just something pretty to look at? I can't tell from the videos. That's problem.

It's both fun to play and pretty to look at. You control it either with motion or touch, and basically gather flower petals by flying around each level. There are hidden flowers you can find, and there's also plain flowers that just increase the amount of petals you have, in addition to flowers that you have to gather petals from to progress. It's a very calm game, and it's hard to really explain it. Even watching it, it's hard to understand the appeal. I was always like 'meh, looks pretty, but is it fun?' until I finally bought it when it released on Vita. If you've played Journey and enjoyed that, you'll like this.

Ah - I see there *is* a PS3 demo, just no Vita demo. So I'll try the demo on PS3.

Sony's Three-Pronged Plan To Save The Vita
I'm a bit concerned by all the attention to Remote Play. Sure, it will sell some Vita's, but I wonder if the assumption that that will automatically lead to companies making more Vita games will hold true. I'm a bit concern that big games will not come to Vita, because, say, Ubisoft figures that people who want to play a game like Rayman on Vita will be able to do so through remote play, so why bother making a Vita version? The Sony person quoted in the article even said himself "I'm gonna be playing very little mobile games at home now within the house". I'm just not very sure that the market of people who want to play big console games outside the house is very large. It seems likely that many people who own a PS4 will be content playing indie games on the go, and use remote play for the console games.

Unlike many people (I have never seen so many people whine and complain about a piece of technology - It's depressing) I like the attention towards Indies. I think the Vita is the perfect device to play Indie games and for me it was the final push in getting a Vita. Still, I am surprised by how much I love Rayman and I hope games like that will continue to come out for Vita.

As much as I love it there's no "salvation" for the Vita anymore, by now the 3DS installed base is beyond unreachable, no major 3rd parties will seriously consider the Vita as the primary device to develop any game; unless Sony throws them a lot of money, but we all know that usually doesn't work well too.

I'm OK with that, though, it's certainly not what I expected but I have loads of fun with the indies and a few excellent ports.

In the case of at least one significant Indie, they are going with Remote Play instead of a Vita version. Don't Starve is not getting a Vita version. :( Well, to be fair, they are "investigating" the possibility, but they are going with Remote Play to start at least. The game looks like it would be a good Vita game too. :(

It's just to sad to see how vita perform in west. Even in Japan, it's not even close to where psp was at on its second year.
I honestly think vita won't get much support from 3rd parties anymore
Like what kind of games vita is getting 2014?
There is nothing out there from west devs. There is no upcoming games planned for vita in west other than borderland 2 port without dlc and minecraft.
It's really really really disappointing to see this happens...
Perfect hardware, bad marketing and decision and pricing= death

Minecraft for Vita is going to help. I can see a lot of sales to kids when that hits. At least if they make it clear that it is not the pocket edition (it isn't, but they need to get that word out). And ideally the game comes out soon so Vitas can end up on xmas wish lists.

Tearway is unfortunately poorly timed. Releasing the same time as the X1, Super Mario 3D World, the new Zelda game, AND with the PS4 already out. I wish they'd gotten it out a few weeks earlier.

Oh man, that's exactly what I was afraid of, but hoped it would be a bit too pessimistic. I guess not, but seriously, what did Sony expect with all the emphasis on remote play?

I at least hope (and kind of expect) that indies will notice that there is a real demand for good games on the Vita because there aren't all that many new games released for it, so there is a real chance to stand out, in contrast to iOS, which has a much larger installed base, but where it is super hard to get enough people to buy your game at 1 or 2 bucks.

I still love my Vita though, and even if there will be no new games at all for it I'm still happy with my purchase, especially considering that it cost less than half of an iPod Touch 5. It's really much better than I expected. I often tried it in stores and it felt clunky and slow to me, but it feels just fine now.

Spelunky has the Daily Challenge now and lots of bug fixes for Vita, including all the slow downs and the teleporter is fixed too. It's awesome! Although the daily challenge leader boards are actually a bit buggy. The scores and ranks are right, but the shown level reached and character are wildly in accurate and change as you change sorting and such. Still, the Daily Challenge is an awesome edition and I wasn't expecting it so soon! FYI, it appears that the day changes (as far as Daily Challenge is concerned) at 7 PM EST.
