What? You can have multiple saves per game. Pretty much every game allows for it. All the saves for a single game are stored together though.
I don't think I have any that do that? Or maybe I have just been too frightened to select "New game". LOL. In any case, at least currently there is only one account.
TBH it's not "pretty much every game", but there are quite a few that offer multiple save slots. (Some I can think of off the top of my head: Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Sly Cooper, ...) Here's an example of what one of those menus would look like:
That helps for those games, but I still think they need multiple accounts and easy switching like a "normal" console. I don't really understand what it has to do with anti-piracy anyway, but I wasn't into the PSP and don't know what the problems were there. But why would that be a problem for piracy on a portable yet not on a console anyway?
I dusted off my Vita 2 days ago to buy this highly regarded game called Spelunky, but I don't really see the appeal of it, or at least yet. I had really high hopes of the system when I though Soul Sacrifice was going to save it, and it was just an ok game. I stopped playing it since and I've been playing my new Nvidia Shield since. It's just way too cool to to play games like Burnout Par I can see that Sony is working really really hard to save the Vita after the slow first 1-2.5 years, but other than Tearaway I probably won't be playing it very much. It' too bad Sony soured their relationship with Capcom years ago with Monster Hunter portable, because that game helped skyrocket PSP sales. If Sony actually lives up to their promise that all games on the ps4 will eventually stream all games to the Vita, then I'll give it another shot I'm not holding my breath though, Sony is known to make promises like these and not live up to them.
They never said that all of the PS4 games would stream to the Vita, they saud that all that didn't for example need the camera would stream to it, and not eventually but on day one. I don't see how they could not live up to that promise, since unlike with the PS3 the streaming is a hardware thing here. The PS4 sends the Vita a fairly low res video (how hard can streaming 544p across a local wifi network really be?) and the Vita sends button and touchscreen (touchpad) inputs back.
Ironic thing Sony could have made the Vita a huge success by just giving their AAA games to decent developers, to me it still almost looks like Sony set out to sabotage their own system. At first the vita seemed amazing great hardware, nice power, tried and tested layout, dual sticks and the first batch of games were pretty good and showed tons of promise Uncharted, Wipeout, Unit 13 etc Then for some reason I can only think is internal sabotage they killed of the studios behind both Wipeout and Unit 13 in my opinion the ones who made the best Vita and PSP games I mean Wipeout really was a huge system seller for every Sony console since the original Playstation and Socom was as well to a lesser extent. Then they gave the big AAA titles people wanted like Resistance, COD, Assasins creed to budget studios that were always going to make a mockery out of them especially in the case of Nihilistic in my opinion the old PSP versions were much better. When I look at the Vita and I look at Sony's new ereader's which are probably about 3 or 4 years behind everyone elses now I can only assume someone high up in Sony wants them to fail or is completely incompetent. Same story with their smartphones they make some really nice ones then they sabotage them with useless screens and only working with Sony USB chargers. I just want them to get their act together as I still like the Sony brand I like Playstation and I like their speakers, hifi's etc
Seriously, only thing that will save ps vita (at least In Japan and for me) is monster hunter. I can't wait for mh4 but it won't be In awhile. But I hope they eventually make one for vita. It's prefect hardware for it... Now if Sony literally pays devs to make it, I am sure vita will sell like crazy in Japan. And more devs will make their games for it
Spelunky is a great game. Keep plugging away at it and you might get as addicted as I am. I have put many, many hours into it. Is there a way to see how many hours you've played a game on the Vita?
http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=677529&page=1 Look at those lines for mh4 launch... LOOK AT IT... This what Sony could have done with vita... Having exclusive monster hunter... Instead they rather to spend rouserce porting year old games, indies and rip offs. So sad. Seriously vita is going to die. I don't think anyone really is gonna pick up vita in Japan next few months
The Phantasy Star Portable games were the top-selling PSP games in Japan behind Monster Hunter and one of the Metal Gear Solid games. Phantasy Star Nova could give the Vita a healthy boost if it doesn't have to compete with another MH game by the time it's released. If I had a Japanese yen for every time someone talked about the Vita dying, I'd be the richest person alive right now.
I'd say it's worth buying I think everyone who has one generally likes it, disappointed sony isn't giving it more support mind you but that may change with the cheaper price VitaTV and the PS4. If your using it for music it's worth bearing in mind the speakers aren't the loudest I tend to use a bluetooth speaker or headphones when I'm gaming on mine.
Monster Hunter 4 has a 3-star rating on Amazon JP right now, and there are quite a few reviews saying that the game should have been on the Vita instead. Not that it matters at all in the long run, but I thought it was amusing.
It should have been. Hardware itself is perfect for it. And when I say perfect, it really seriously is
I'm sure Sony is working really hard to turn around their system and they had to lay off those developers because their games didn't really generate much revenue, regardless of the quality of the titles. The problem with the Vita (other than the initial price point) isn't the hardware itself, it's the software. Publishers aren't willing invest in the money to make an AAA quality title for them because they don't feel it will generate decent revenue. The revenue is in console gaming and dlc in America and not really from dedicated handhelds, at least with the Vita. I'm sure the DS is selling pretty well here along with the big hitters like Pokemon and Mario, but third party, not so much (at least in america). Regardless of how you guys feel about freemium titles, it seems to be doing really well with the right conditions and I think publishers are more willing to try that over making a portable handheld game with a limited install base (versus iOS devices) for 40-50 dollars with little to no marketing that most people will never bother buying.
I'm very happy with my Vita. Mostly due to the good Indie games. To each their own. I'm even thinking about picking up a second Vita, but don't have the funds right now.
Well... Vita is pretty much done. No games coming out for it will save. I wonder how much it will get crushed when Pokemon x and y comes out
