Strange, I just launched Stealth Inc and played a level without a problem. If it wasn't for your post here I wouldn't even have noticed that 2.61 was out.
Maybe it only does it from a physical game I have Unit 13 physically, I don't think the updates changed anything probably just Sony trying to block hacks or something and giving people no choice.
It's more likely that it's just a bug fix update. They always do one or two of those after a big new firmware update (1.80, 2.00, 2.10, ...) comes out. It's just like with iOS.
I got prompted to do the update when I went to play an online match in Divekick, not prior when I was playing offline, so maybe it is online play related fix. I wish they would list what changes the update will make.
I think you are right unit 13 connects as soon as it starts to keep track of points others have gotten etc Makes sense thats when it discovers the update.
Argh. I kept doing "one more try" last night in Spelunky and then it was 1:30 in the morning. So tired at work today.... Still haven't managed to get out of the Jungle yet. Have gotten to 2-4 many times, but usually with 1 health or in any case hitting a Tiki. Damn Tikis!
Trophy list is also out, too much multiplayer centered as I feared. Won't be getting it unless it has a solid single player as I use my Vita mostly offline on the go and couldn't care less about MP in FPS games. If I want to play a MP online I'll just use my PS3 at home, not my mobile device, unless I'm on the throne, obviously LOL
I am so addicted to Spelunky. I've gotten the shortcuts unlocked all the way up to the Temple (world 4). Getting the Temple shortcut unlocked was super satisfying (the 3rd item asked for is pretty challenging)! The Temple is super frickin' hard. I think the shortcut isn't all that useful as far as actually getting through the Temple, but it is useful for seeing the obstacles that will be presented to you and figuring out how to get past them (not that I've figured everything out yet). You need to start from the beginning (or at least earlier) so you can acquire key equipment and extra health. Definitely need the compass, lots of bombs, glue, etc. I can get there from 1-1, though not consistently.
Well, to me it's appealing (online play) because I can play it while lounging in bed. And when my kids are playing a game on the TV or it's otherwise being used. I'm not getting Killzone though, unless it has a good campaign - so same reason as you, though for me it's because I am terrible at online FPSs. Maybe when it hits $20 I'll get it either way, though.
All of the Killzone Trailers so far have only shown the campaign and it is supposedly like 10 hours long, so at the verry least there's that... This is probably the best gameplay video (from over a month ago) we have of the first mission so far, if any of you haven't seen it yet and want to know what it'll probably be like: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Just a quick heads-up: There is a ~1.2 GB day-one update for Killzone Mercenary (containing "general stabillity fixes and performance optimisations"), so you may need quite a bit of free extra storage spce for the game even if you buy it physically. (From my experience with Uncharted updates aren't installed on the game card)
So sucked it up and did PT 3 for Persona 4 Golden. The start button works wonders for skipping all that dialogue. Plat is mine! Not a hard one at all, but you need some careful planning on maxing all the social links. Spoiler HRF was the other trophy I was concerned about because I missed it on PT1. PT2 however I was very methodical with it and got it rather quickly Dang. Will definitely buy Physical then. Learned my lesson with aforementioned P4Golden. Thats on my 4GB card now (was playing it on my 32).
First impressions of Killzone: Mercenary (from the ~20 minutes I've played of the first mission): It is incredible. If you're worried that the singleplayer didn't get enough attention, don't. What surprised me is how good/effective the AI is. You WILL NOT be able to camp in one spot and poke your head over cover every 5 - 10 seconds, the AI will flank you, they will flush you out with grenades. They will come in large numbers. Anyway, a gameplay video of the singleplayer is coming later today. I'll try and do some videos of the multiplayer maps we haven't seen yet as well.
Some screenshots from the singleplayer (As always they do of course look a lot better in motion on the Vita's screen):
For those that want to see what the singleplayer is like, here's my video: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel (Yes, it does end kind of abruptly, because my camera stops recording once the video file reaches a size of 4GB. Also, sorry if the audio is a little bit out of sync towards the end.)
It really do looks amazing... Now only they only added bit more game mode for mp... I would go as pick up vita now
Just one quick question. Am I able to send my account data to other memory cards? Like if I had 4gb and If I wanted to switch to bigger ones?
Here's my first multiplayer video, I might still do some more of the other two maps you haven't seen before: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel What do you mean by account data? Your PSN account? Game saves?
When I did it I backed up the whole card with the CMA thing onto my PC then after switching cards I did the restore. It's been a while but I think that's all it took was a quite lengthy process though if I remember right.
