    Old story. Gearbox openly said they'd Iove bl2 on Vita but someone else would have to fund/port it.

    Oh no, I'm well aware of what Randy Pitchfork said a year ago. No, somebody on NeoGAF made a post about it in the Vita thread- he was told by someone (he left them unnamed) with sources that a Vita port is happening. Another person (or it could be the same person) with sources also said that it was happening- he told a different member about it a couple of months ago.

    The exchange starts here: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?p=76658515#post76658515

    IDK this is very sketchy to me. Whether or not the guy knows anyone remains to be seen but all this is is some guy says "Borderlands 2 is coming to Vita" and then the thread explodes with mostly excitement. I was really surprised to see it get as much traction as it did.

    This is true, however it seems at least somewhat clear that a price drop is imminent. In the US, at least, Target is selling the WiFi and 3G Vitas for $199.99 right now. That's a sale, but very possibly a pre-cursor to a price drop, presumably at Gamescon. Of course that puts it in 3DS XL range, not 3DS, but it's better for sure. I'd probably have bought a new Vita if that were the price when I got mine. Instead I bought used.

    Also kids are only one market that plays games like Nintendogs. It's also popular with women.

    Also, I got in that CTA Digital grip for my Vita. It's a pretty simple design and works well. It's VERY easy and quick to get the Vita in and out and it holds it securely. As far as comfort, it is better although I wouldn't really put it up there with the comfort of a controller. It only helped a tiny bit for Pinball Arcade, but I was able to play Uncharted for a longer period of time without my hands cramping up - I think it's most helpful with games that use the analog sticks/dpad.

    It's a bit on the large side, which is good for your hands, but as such, does make your Vita a bit less portable. This isn't a big problem for me as I carry my Vita in a backpack. The other thing is you can't play while the Vita is plugged in. Not a huge issue for me, but could be for some.

    All of the info for the Killzone Mercenary beta (in the EU at least) is finally here.

    Summary:

    21. August: Beta opens up to PS+ subscribers
    28. August: Beta opens up for everyone (Except for in germany, where it is only open to PS+ subscribers because they aren't allowed to offer USK 16 or 18 games/demos/betas for free.)
    3. Spetember: End of the Beta
    4. September: Game release in the EU

    There's also some more info on the game in the article linked above.

    Oh the only thing the touchscreen/rear touch is needed for is for the swipe takedowns and hacking, for everything else...

    Switch weapon = D-Pad right
    Deploy VAN-Guard = D-Pad left
    Grenade = D-Pad down
    Interact = press triangle
    Sprint = tap circle when moving

    Two things- people can't just make random claims on NeoGAF, because it has a high risk of getting them banned, and, while I'm not sure I trust the first guys source, I definitely trust the other guy- FamousMortimer. He has been right about a lot of rumors- I haven't seen him provide a single false one, and he does know people who work at Sony.

    I'll be at the beach on the 21st. I hope they have pretty good wifi in the house. :)

    I don't suppose you can pre-download the beta, and then actually be able to play it on the 21st?

    Got a spare code of Killzone Mercenary, won't use it because I was already in the closed beta:

    EDIT: Removed the code because noticed that it will be redeemable only after PS Store updates next week, so I'll just give it to the 1st one to send me a PM or ask in a following post in this thread.

    EDIT2: Code sent.

    I've got a code for the US Beta as well (which is useless to me), I'll most likely give it away in the open beta first impressions/gameplay video I have planned.

    So there's a rumor that Sony is going to reveal a new Vita model before TGS. It's supposedly going to have a 6.3" screen, 1GB of RAM, and the design of the system will be styled like the PS4.

    Well 2x ram is a good news for me even tho games will be using same ram... Lameeeeee. It could make games like Killzone running in 60fps and have more player online... But well. Long as its not too expensive (at least not expensive then when vita first came out) I would consider buying this

    If this is somewhat true then I really hope they don't increase the screen size. The screen is big enough as it is, and making it bigger without increasing the resolution wouldn't make the screen quality better either.

    More ram would not mean the difference between 30 and 60fps. And changing the actual games on the newer version of the system would pretty much be like dropping support for the old one, plus it'd be a lot more work for deveolpers.
    Having this ram used for multitasking does make sense, because as many of you have probably noticed the current Vita does close apps that aren't so important (like Photos for example) when it needs the ram for an other apps.

    I personally would preferr a new Vita that is basicly the same size as the current one, perhaps with slightly smaller bezzels and slightly thinner with a higher resolution screen and slightly faster internals to power that screen (=> games would look basicly the same as on the old Vita, but sharper, perhaps even run at a higher framerate.) and of course more ram for multitasking. I'd also like them to add four small rubber knobs (kind of like what you'll find on most laptops, but smaller) on the back of the vita, so that when you put it down on a table you don't immediately scratch the whole rear touchpad. (After one and a half years mine isn't quite as pretty anymore.). Some better bumbpers would be nice as well, the ones right now are kind of meh IMO.

    What Vita needs isn't a hardware revision, the current one is already leagues ahead of its main competitor; what Vita needs badly is a price drop (device + memory cards) and games with more "crowd appeal".

    Amen.

    I talked someone out of the Vita because of the memory card prices and how you can't use other cards.
