Umm no... There is no single indie games I rather even play or buy over games like uncharted, killzone, SS, LBP, etc.... They simply are nice add, not point of consoles. If you are investing around $350 for vita and memory card to play indie games... You are just throwing your money to Sony
What about indie games with high production values? Like Grimrock, Bastion, Journey, Unfinished Swan, etc?
So what you're saying is that Vitas are too expensive, but as long as they have 10 indie games for every 1 AAA game, they're worth it?
No, but you were complaining about indies in general. There are some indie games with high production values hitting/on the Vita though. Starlight Inception looks to be one of them, Guacamelee is one, and there's some more.
Only thing I could tell you is to try charging it when you power off the Vita completely. If thats not the issue, then that battery pack may not be compatible with the Vita for some reason.
Well I originally couldn't use my 10,000mah battery either but I bought a third party vita cable that came with a car cigarette plug add on and that cable works for me unfortunately I can't remember the brand it was just bought on the high street. I originally suspected it was the cable because my Sony ereader does the same stunt it refuses to charge from anything but a Sony USB plug or PC using the official cable yet when I use third party micro usb cables I can charge it from anywhere.
Actually just learned that supposedly you can charge with just the USB cable if the Vita is shut off completely. But slowly. Not exactly what I want, but I guess it would do in a pinch. I'm returning the adapter and just ordered a 2nd one, because others on amazon all seem to say it works. So hopefully my first one was just a dud. I'll report again once it arrives.
Yeah, I can see how it would suck if you couldn't play your Vita while charging it. Hopefully, you can get your problem sorted out there. Now for some CTA Grip impressions... So got it in the mail today, couldn't wait to try it. Couple reasons why I bought the grip was because I got some big hands, and while playing some games (particularly Wipeout and Modnation racers) my hand tends to cramp up a bit. Played Modnation, Zen Pinball and Disagea with it on and boy, wish I got this thing sooner. The grip has that "controller" feel. Similar but not quite like the Dualshock 3. It's not perfect (you have to take out the grip to charge the Vita and change games). It does have a 'wiggle' if you press hard on the right side of the Vita. This could get pretty annoying. Though so far, it hasn't affected my gameplay. Also, it may be harder to reach the center of the touchscreen then without the grip. In the end, I plan on keeping this grip for a while. Pretty solid for a little over 13 bucks. Has a couple of flaws but it works for me
Having lots of fun with pinball games lately, the Vita shoulder buttons make them a dream to play compared to touch-only devices. Would be even better it the trophies for them weren't so insanely hard , but then maybe it's just me that suck at these games
Honestly I preferr playing pinball games on my iPod. They really don't need physical buttons and portrait mode works a lot better on a phone or an iPod than it does on the Vita.
Couldn't disagree more, physical buttons make a world of difference in this case to me, and I prefer playing them in landscape, portrait while theoretically better in small screens such as iPods / iPhones / Vitas don't work well IMO, things get too tiny and make precision shots even more difficult.
Things aren't exactly bigger when half of the screen space is wasted on shwoing what's next to the table in landscape mode. Really it depends on how the camera works in the game. On iOS I'd say Pinball HD did it just right. (TBH, I haven't played a lot of other pinball games on iOS though.) And since half of the touchscreen is a button that you can feel when you're touching it, I don't think you need actual buttons for pinball.
Maybe I'm just a dinosaur , but I play much much better in nearly every kind of game with physical buttons than touch controls, both skillwise and funwise.
Touchscreen is terrible for pinball. The distance your fingers are from the screen varies because you can't rest them on it, and so you can't be precise. Physical buttons/triggers you can rest your fingers on make a world of difference. I also disagree that portrait is better for pinball on a small screen. It is better on an iPad, but not on an iPhone or Vita. It makes everything too tiny because you have to have the full width of the game visible - you don't want to be scrolling left/right. Now, the Vita isn't perfect by any means, because it's still small. Some games work better than others. Funhouse is tricky because it's hard to see the shots from the upper flipper. On the other hand Whitewater works great on the Vita. I've been playing that one a lot lately - such a great game.
