That is not the point... It's nothing about being funny or rude. The point is whatever they said with whatever meaning or jokes behind, it's the cold truth. Vita doesn't make money

The Indie stuff doesn't prevent the Vita from getting big budget titles. Might even result in more big budget titles, with new people having a Vita that would perhaps not have otherwise. I like both AAA and Indie. It's not an exclusive club. I guess if you get the heebie jeebies when you see Spelunky show up in the PSN Vita store, then, well, I don't know what to tell you.

Well clearly it's not helping sales so that proves it
We are at the point where literally 90% games we got this year is indie games and there is like 3 vita games coming rest of year. That's the problem. We have enough indie games. If you want to bring indie games, bring something what lots of people ask for. Bring something like minecraft... Jeez they could sell so much vitas with that. Too bad we are not getting anywhere with indie games. Rating on vita store shows it

I haven't seen any sales numbers, so don't know if it's helping or not, but seems a bit too early to judge one way or the other. Even if it doesn't increase sales, I still don't see how it is hurting the Vita's chances of getting AAA titles.

But whatever. I'm glad for the Indie push. I'd not have a Vita if it weren't for that most likely, certainly not now. TxK and Spelunky are day one purchases and I will have lots of other Indie games to try (if they give us demos!!) as well as the big titles to explore. Plus Pinball Arcade. Etc.

Well judging by the last couple pages I'm probably gonna be throwing more gas on the fire here, but oh well. I didn't see this posted but for those who don't know, it appears that Angry Birds Star Wars will be getting a retail release on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, Wii, 3DS and PS Vita for the staggering price of $40.

    http://www.amazon.com/Angry-Birds-Star-Wars-playstation-vita/dp/B00DWXV1E6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1374112565&sr=8-1&keywords=Angry+birds+vita

Now I'm of the group of people where I personally feel games are seriously under priced on the App store. Games that get released for 1 or 2 dollars are easily worth 5, 6, 7 or $8 but they can't charge that much cause they know the vast majority of people wont pay it. But man FORTY DOLLARS for Angry Birds Star Wars really seems like asking a lot. Now it does say that it has exclusive new levels and I do see the upside in this being that people are gonna see Angry Birds Star Wars sitting on the shelf and it's probably gonna help bring more people to the Vita. That $40 price tag though, wow.

And Jin you gotta slow your roll player, page 513 is literally you every other post repeating "I hate that the Vita is getting so many Indies", "Sony's not supporting the Vita with enough AAA titles" etc. etc.. I'm all for everybody expressing their opinion but at this point bro we get it, we get that that's how you feel, we get it.

Originally, when the first Angry Birds Trilogy game was released on consoles, I thought it was ludicrous for that pricing, as well... but now I am sympathetic to the idea that the publisher doesn't want to dig itself into a financial rut, and possibly cause a shockwave of terrible financial decisions for the industry at large.

See, on the App Store, you will see a game like Monster Dash for $1.99. On the PS Mini store? $4.99 I think. On the 3DS eShop, it would probably also be $4.99. If it were released on Xbox Live Arcade, it would probably be 800 MS Points, or $10.

The publisher/developer isn't being greedy. They're trying to separate the vastly different economic psychology of all these different platforms. So to release Angry Birds Star Wars for $40 on all the consoles, while it seems exorbitant to App Store lovers, makes sense for the consoles. They don't want to bring it out for $10 on the consoles, because that could open floodgates on people complaining from that point onwards of games being too expensive on the consoles.

People already complain like hell, but doing that? I could see it destroying financial backing for AAA games and third-party publishers on the dedicated consoles. This is just a theory, though, so don't pay too much mind to it. I'm simply playing the Devil's Advocate :)

And I thought I was persistent! Dang. Jin is going crazy.

Well how am I supposed to feel positive? Dude I bought this thing for over $350 with a game and a screen protectors on day one with umvsc3... And I literary bought every game that came out as physical copy and they were all pretty much disappointing other than wipe out, and uncharted... And now throw indie games at me? That's not what I payed for. If I want to play indie games I will go and get it at steam sales... Not getting it for $15. That is total bull crap... Not to mention that Star Wars angry for $40 is total scam. It shouldn't be any higher than $10

Welcome to the dangerous and edgy world of being an early adopter for a big risk of a handheld system? :p

Yeah, read about it yesterday. It isn't a straight port though- neither was Angry Birds Trilogy. Activision essentially 'remade' the game. With their Angry Birds ports for consoles, they redrew all of the in-game assets, so they'd be optimized for 1080p (but doesn't the version for the newest iPad have assets with a resolution for higher than 1080p?), as well as remixing the sound so that it can be in surround. They also added multiplayer for this release. And achievements. And support for various motion controls. That's how Activision justifies the price.

I don't think that's it at all. There have been several games released on PSN/PSM for the Vita that have also released on iOS, and they cost the same on both so...

I'd like to see the list of games you saw for the same price on both the App Store and PSN.

Fruit Ninja Kinect made sense (and is awesome!) but I haven't seen the point of bringing AB to consoles. Plus FNK was reasonably priced.

That reminds me - what are PS Mobile games? How are they different from PSN?

Jin I'm not saying don't have your opinion or don't feel the way you feel. I'm just saying when the forum turns into you every other post saying the same thing at that point somebody's got to say something.

    Don't stalk me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it was a way for indie developers to easily program for multiple platforms using the same basic code? If a developer created a game using the PSM program, it could be played on the PS Vita and select android devices.

A series of Indie games I would LOVE to see come to Vita would be the Radian Games series of games. They apparently have given up on iOS. Vita would be a great fit, and they have made some awesome games. An enhanced version of Super Crossfire would be a great start. :) But more so I'd like to see what they'd come up with new for Vita.

They are just games that work on select Android phones as well as the Vita. They are kind of held back by strict technical limitations, though Sony is changing that. Right now, PSM games don't natively have support for online leaderboards (though some developers have made their own online leaderboards, and support is supposed to be coming), no trophy support (another thing Sony is looking to change), no Unity support (though that is coming as well), and anyone can develop for PSM free of charge (a recent change). There's more stuff, but I'm not going to bother listing it all. There are a lot of games worth checking out on PSM though, even if it isn't exactly... a very good platform yet. Quite a bit of junk too though.

A big issue with the platform is visibility. A lot of people who own Vitas don't even know it exists. That, and it only works on like 7 Android devices.

-Jacob Jones (launched on both PSN and iOS for $2.99- iOS version had a price drop to $.99)
-Jet Pack Joyride (free on both)
-Burn the Rope (launched for less than it did on iOS, but it is a port, and the iOS version has since dropped in price)
-Cardboard Castle (costs less on PSM than on iOS)
-Ascent of Kings (same price on both)
    -Blue Skies (same on both)
-Pocket Farm (costs less on PSM than on iOS)
-Kung Fu Fight (costs less on PSM than on iOS)
    -Quiet, Please! (same on both)
-Alien Breed (launched for less on PSM than iOS, native Vita version more than twice as expensive as PSM version- though it has online co-op, cross buy, and other features)
-Frederic - Resurrection of Music (same on both)

There's more, but I'm done going through games, because it is a pain in the ass. But yeah, generally, Vita/PSM and iOS releases of games are within $2 of each other in price. Not a very big markup or markdown at all.

I have Guacamelee!. Its very fun on Vita, haven't played on PS3. Other games distract me from finishing it but played for nearly 2 hours straight when I first played it. Fun stuff.

So I tried the demo of sine mora. I couldn't even get past the second level. That's just embarrassing.

I kind of still want to buy it though... What the hell!
