I got my used Vita (from ebay) and am super happy that it came as described: perfect condition! So anyway, I like this thing, but I have a problem that has cropped up. When I first went to the PS store and downloaded some of my PS+ games, I was able to queue up lots of games for download and it was no problem. But now I'm having an issue where I start one thing downloading, and then if I try to queue up another thing (even if the first thing finished downloading) I get stuck at the preparing download... pop up message, or whatever it says. And if I try to cancel the download that popup goes away, but the store is grayed out and if I try to press the PS button to quit out, it just puts up a you can't do this symbol. I'm stuck. The only solution I've found is to power off (completely) and power back up. I can avoid the problem by starting something downloading, then quit out of the store and then start it back up, then start the next one. Which is a nuisance. I should mention that what I'm downloading now are Pinball Arcade tables, but I'm not sure that's relevant because in my original batch of downloads, that included a lot of PA stuff and there was no problem. So two things - has anyone else had this issue and second, is there a way to force quit an application without powering off completely?
Not really. I had that problems like 3-4 times. I think it's the software glitch. All you need to do is just turn it off and back on tho
That happens to me quite a bit. Since the last firmware update anyway. Searching the web,you see a lot of folks complaining about this. Can't believe Sony hasn't fixed this. Although I did get new memory card today and was able to download multiple things without it freezing on "preparing to download". We'll see if that lasts...
Hiya... I have another annoying issue I wanted to discuss... Downloads that keep on pausing when the device goes into sleep mode. I can't figure out why it's doing this lately. Some people say let the device go into sleep on its own and it will continue to download, but a lot of the time this doesn't work. Some say keep the device plugged in... same thing. It's super weird because other times it will continue to download. Seriously it took me 8 hours to gets sonic all stars racing to download all the way. happy to say lbp vita has been downloading for 18 minutes without a pause so far though. *knocks on wood* Also seriously, when is the next firmware update due???
Mmmm... I'm pretty sure mine continues to download while it sleeps. It will not install in that state though.
Mine don't, even charging if I don't babysit it from time to time the download will always be paused.
Jesus... so I finally turned my Vita on after 4 months, and it was working fine... but then randomly it claimed I pulled my memory card out. It restarted, and now it thinks I don't own the memory card, and I have to format it in order to use it.
It's probably not the problem here, but if your vita looses the connection to the server while downloading an app or game for even a second it will pause the download. If all downloads are paused and the screen is off the Vita will go into standby. When it claims that you don't own the memory card, doesn't it usually ask you to reenter the security code of the credit card assigned to that memory card to reactivate it?
Nope. It just kept asking me to format the card when I turned the system on. I never removed it, since I got the system at launch.
I had that problem ONCE. You gotta take the memory card out, you don't have to erase anything. Just reboot vita.
I've had this problem before but what I did is i took my memory card out when the system was off, turned it on, turned it off, put the memory card back in, and turned it on and it was normal
Nope. Didn't work. Trust me, I tried everything. My memory card is corrupt, for some reason. It won't even let me format it. I think I'm going to sell my Vita... or something. I can't believe I am going to have buy another memory card just to be able to play some of my games
After reading Der Klein's response about connection disruption, maybe it is the flaky starhub boardband. :/
I suppose it could be... Anyway, I've also tried to check the "use wifi in power save mode" like someone mentioned on another board, but still get pauses.
Ugh, Starhub. I uses Starhub too, and it's a frustrating service at times. Lately I'm considering switching to fibre, but at a loss whether to try another service provider, or continue with Starhub and keep my hubber status.
