Well if they'd do what they did last year it'd probably end up somewhat like this: Sony: "We've found the perfect studio for porting Borderlands 2 to the PS Vita! It's a small california based studio called nStigate! They already have alot of experience at bringing some of the biggest gaming franchises to mobile devices!" Gamers: "n...no! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I'm the opposite, I guess. For me, by far the best stuff on the 360 has been the XBLA and Indie games. And Portal 2. So when I see Sony making a significant Indie push, that makes me perk up and take notice.
The reason I hate iOS gaming is because it's bunch of money whore apps or silly games. I am not a person only into this M rated games or games with huge cinematics or realistic graphics. I still enjoy pokemon and other less violent or Etc games. My point is I want Sony to make games, not expensive controller for ps4 with bunch of indie games. They are taking it wrong.
I actually love my vita and I'm sure if people got their hands on one they'll realize how amazing is when they see the clarity of the screen and showcase games, especially compared to the 3DS. But I do think the Vita is a huge failure though. I don't know if it's Sony for the poor marketing and failure to secure exclusives, and it's more likely that publishers don't want to invest in a console quality handheld title when the install base on IOS devices are much, much better. Vita fans would practically die for a full priced X-com or KOTOR port yet it's becoming the norm for IOS owners to get these types of games for a great value. The 3DS is a superior handheld system imo only due to the software lineup. Japanese games tend to do well on them and Nintendo of course makes great games for them that come out every few months or so. I don't regret buying a Vita at all and I know there will be some great independent games on them that come out from time to time that won't come to IOS, at least initially.
You seem to be connecting the concept of an indie game to games that cash-grab and use IAPs. My favorite games on the Vita have been ones such as Guacamelee and Thomas Was Alone, which are far from games that try to push people onto buying pointless in-game currency. I look forward to the release of Spelunky and Terraria on the Vita, and hope more games like that do get announced for the Vita.
It's a port. That's a bad thing about it. I didn't buy the device that could handle graphics like SS, uncharted and killzone to play indie games that looks like iOS games... See my point? Most people doesn't give a shit about indies. It's a waste of money from Sony and it will not make people pick up vita. Unless they port like minecraft, it's not gonna help the sale, it's not a bad thing Sony with this indie movement but to me it's them wasting money where they could spend those money to make AAA games for vita... If I was head of Sony I would fire anyone who thought about brining all these indie games on vita. He'll they are quite expensive too. They are like $10-15. It shouldn't be around $5-$10 max
I don't understand why you think indie games are taking up "AAA" games space. If it wasn't for indie games there would just be nothing on the Vita for huge stretches of time. Sony is NOT paying "AAA" money to get these indies on board. If Sony wasn't trying to get indies on the Vita, believe me, the Vita wouldn't be drowning in "AAA" titles. I understand the frustration of not having bought a Vita for indie games, but that doesn't mean you can blame indie games for that. An indie game doesn't take the place of a bigger title, both can co-exist, it's just that AAA devs don't want to put the resources into big titles for a Vita.
Well what pisses me off the most is Sony is going Oh, looks now we have SO MUCH GAMES... No need fot AAA titles. We can just release 2 god of war games that is so old and everyone played it before. And how much they are going to charge us for those 2 games? Probably ridiculous price... It just makes me angry how they treat vita.
With me pretty much zero I use the Vita about the house which might seem strange but I like to use it lying on my bed or somewhere comfortable rather than gaming in front of the Tv.
On the go? Hardly ever. I mostly use all my mobile devices(except my phone) at home. That includes an iPod Touch, iPad, 3DS, Kindle Fire, and my Vita. Some might think it defeats the purpose of a mobile device, but I use it more because it's easier than taking up a tv. Either way most of the time the tv's are taken up by somebody else anyways. Handheld devices feel a bit more personal as well, that's not to say I don't enjoy the occasional console game on a big screen HDTV
Yes I also think that Sony is mishandling the Vita, however instead of taking the indie games away, they should work on bringing in AAA titles to complement the indie titles. I like the Vita in spite of Sony, not because of Sony.
i dont mind with indie title, but vita is really lacking of AAA titles which not a port from console title. right now the percentage of vita's AAA games is only 20% and the rest is just a port or indie's.. just curious, please tell me only one game that amazed you the most back on vita launch 2 years ago that makes you buy the vita. let me start with myself, - uncharted.
Probably hundreds of hours as I spend half of the week working in another city and frequently travel on weekends. Considering only Vita trophies I'd be Level15 on PSN right now. Uncharted.
I think we all agree uncharted was what made people buy the device. Even though Other games like cod and warrior's lair pushed me to buy the game... And cod was failure, not to mention warrior's lair never got release date
I did not get a Vita till Persona 4 The Golden came into existence. Before that nothing was attractive enough for me. With PS+ I managed to secure quite a sizeable Vita library but most games I spent money on were the indie titles. So yeah, I'm one of those people who gives a lot of shit about indie games on this platform.
Probably like 2-3%. Maybe even less with my other mobile devices. Whenever I go to an appointment, Vita is the first system I grab. The indie games on Vita? Vita needs all the help it can get. Yes, high budget games are far in between but one way or another, Vita is getting some support. I'll admit though, I was very disappointed with the E3 showing regarding the Vita. It was just absolutely buried.
Lol, i never finished this game, but after this comment i think i will light up this game once again as my vita now sitting on the shelves collecting dust. So, uncharted, grav rush, and wipeout get some vote here. Any other? oOT: Btw, if you guys havent play the last of us on ps3, please do yourself a favor, go to your nearest game shop , buy it and start playing it. Im not starting a discussion on this game here, but it is the best game a ps3 can has. Also the best game ever made for ps3. Well, at least its my opinion and also supported by almost many famous gaming sites and gets perfect scores on most of them.
