Obv. First of all it's rated M. It's all dark and very. Bloody. System seller would be very mainstream IP that everyone knows about. Just like cod (even tho last one was really bad but it's one of the most sold vita games), AC (mediocre at the best but still sold well). New IP can't match something like killzone, gow, uncharted, monster hunter. Especially it's on handheld and market is really small. Unless they make those red vita bundles, it's not going to be a system seller. But SS so far from the demo, one of the most entertains handheld games I have played
I guess I some people simply don't find mashing the attack button(s) on one enemy for 20 minutes that entertaining. While I have pretty much played the SS demo as far as one can play (level 20, beat all bosses) I simply don't see any reason to buy the full game and continue playing if all I'm going to do is grind on various enemies. Some other problems I have with the game are for example that the accessible area of the arenas are all 100% flat. That's just boring. Not being able to pause in singleplayer can be annoying as well, this is a portable title after all. I shouldn't have to use standby or multitasking (pressing the PS button to suspend the game) to get around this. The boosts for offerings are not exactly interesting either. Couldn't they come up with more than just "oh you can use this abillity once more without recharging your offerings now"?
I'm really liking the demo and I even preordered the game now after playing the demo. I had almost no interest in the game before. As far as the gameplay not being what you expected, well they had already detailed what the gameplay was like before the demo was released. It was no big secret. And this was never meant to be a system seller in the West. It at least shifted some units in Japan. Graphics are nice enough, nothing mind blowing. Didn't like Uncharted.
In the demo you can only boost offerings up to 3 stars which inreases usage but after that(in the full game)you can boost them further and increase the damage they do.
For SS voices, the japanese track will be available as DLC (and pre-order bonus), right? As usual, it will be way superior than the english dub I think. Takes my time playing, still trying to beat Harpy solo. Still can't :/
Just wait till' you get to Cerberus ruka If anybody is going to be playing Soul Sacrifice a lot add me: SiDCrAzYY
Whoa, Soul Sacrifice didn't grab me like I thought it would. I thought it'll be day 1 for me. Perhaps not. Played it for about an hour. Coming from a big fan of Gods Eater Burst and MHFU. Have Ragnarok Odyssey as well though I haven't played that much at all.
I'd say play it for more than hour before making a decision. At least enough to play online, it's awesome online.
I find SS quite hard to get into. Especially for those monster hunter fans. It's just different unique game. I think only complain I have is online noobs. Stealing all these spell refreshes. I hate those noobs and they also keep yelling save me when they die like 10 times and bitch at me when I sacrifice them
I heard about Rayman Legends coming to Vita. I really hope it's true, I had a good time platinuming Rayman Origins. The game had a fun vibe to it that I enjoyed. I didn't know that that'll be interesting/exciting to see. I plan on playing SS a lot so I'll add you SID.
Soul sacrifice could get a sequel! Keiji said he does have an idea for the sequel and will talk to Sony and see how it goes. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/04/24/keiji-inafune-on-a-possible-soul-sacrifice-sequel-the-talks-are-ongoing-and-id-love-to-make-it-happen/
