It's pretty good on the Vita. Hated it on the PSP, especially after playing Tri, mainly due to the camera controls. Make sure you map the D-pad to the right analog stick if you do get it. If you've never played a MH game before, you may not like it. Make sure you know what you're getting into.
Haha, I've played monster hunter before, started on the first one on the PSP. I'm still undecided though, I still have the free $10 PSN credit from sony, but I don't know if I should still pick this up since I'm buying Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on my 3ds in a couple days.
I have monster hunter both on ps vita and 3ds and this is 100% honest. Freedom unite when it comes to graphics, it looks almost same as 3ds one. 3ds one has less jagge edges and real time shadow. Other than that it looks pretty much same. So this leaves me wonder how much it will look good if they actually make monster hunter using vita's full potential... Oh and dual anolog sticks makes game way better to play. Better than 3ds control for sure. But 3ds version is a lot of fun. Looks great, control is a lot better than what it was like on psp. Only downside would be where the game is $40 + tax and freedom unite is $10 now...
So it seems Sony patented a way to allow trophies in old game (PS1, PS2, PSP) without having to modify the actual game. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/21/are-trophies-coming-for-psone-and-ps2-classics Think we'll ever see this implemented? I know that a lot of people would start playing older games just for trophies. I think it's a cool idea, but trophies aren't essential to my enjoyment of a game (sometimes they can be annoying- like when trophies pop during cutscenes). They do add a lot of replayability though, and encourage people to finish all the challenges within a game, especially if they normally wouldn't play beyond the story.
agree on the memory cards. Wish SONY would get those 64gb cards rolling. I thought 16gb was perfect for me, nope. Though right now, I am content on just deleting games i've haven't touched in a while and just reinstalling them when I have the urge to play again. Even some PSP games I bought have to stay on my PSP (or get transferred from Vita if I got it from Vita store) just to save that precious space. I'll go higher eventually... *sigh* Trophies for previous gen games? Sure why not. Yeah they aren't essential for me but would be great if the option was there. Friendly reminder: Back up your saves/Vita etc. You never know...
So Sony has partnered with Unity for the PS4, Vita and some other stuff, I guess this could make porting popular mobile games to the system a lot easier? http://www.destructoid.com/sony-partners-with-unity-for-ps4-vita-cloud-and-more-249320.phtml
FFX/X-2 HD is officially coming to North America! No price for the Vita versions yet, but the PS3 version costs $40 on Amazon. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/22/final-fantasy-xx-2-hd-remaster-announced-for-north-america/ Edit: And some more news... The Walking Dead is coming to the Vita: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/22/telltales-the-walking-dead-coming-to-playstation-vita More than 100 Vita games will be released in 2013 (and some other interesting stats): http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/22/more-than-100-vita-games-coming-in-2013
LUFTRAUSERS looks fun. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/03/21/luftrausers-dogfights-its-way-to-ps3-and-ps-vita/
ESRB leaked the Jak and Daxter HD collection for PS Vita http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=32831&Title=Jak%20and%20Daxter%20Collection&searchkeyword=jak%20and%20daxter
I hate to sound like This but wake me when Phantasy Star online 2 hits the US market for Vita. That game was the main reason why I played my PSP the last couple Of years before the vita hit
PSO2 is fairly different from the Portable games. The biggest annoyance for me is that PSO2 does not have an offline mode beyond an offline character creator, as its name suggests. If you have a spare memory card and a Japanese Vita account, you can actually download PSO2 from the Japanese PS Store now. I like it so far.
Limbo and Worms are coming to the Vita later this year: http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/25/limbo-coming-to-playstation-vita http://www.polygon.com/2013/3/25/4145326/worms-ps-vita-team17 Update: Spelunky is coming as well: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2013/03/26/spelunky-is-coming-to-ps3-and-ps-vita-this-summer/
I don't have a Vita (would like one, but can't afford it right now), but Spelunky would be a great fit. Great, albeit super difficult game. Sony's showing at PAX East last weekend was really disappointing. Not only were there no Vitas on display, but they had exactly one game to show (The Last of Us). There was absolutely nothing else.
And beyond two souls... They are saving up for e3 Where everyone is happy about the last of us. They will probably show up with new game
