Don't know, resolution and aliasing seem terrible, just look at the pictures of the following pages of the thread. Will probably look better in the smaller Vita screen, though.

  4. It's sub-native res, but the Vita's JPG compression is awful. I'm sure the game will look a lot better on the Vita.

I agree with you to be it looks like an average PSP game to be honest, maybe it's better smaller or in motion.

God of war, Kingdom Hearts, Gran Turismo, Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Crisis Core, Vice City Stories, loads of others. Point is simply all PSP games just had a certain look to them and that's what the image's remind me off.

Truthfully the only Vita games so far that doesn't remind me off a PSP game so far are Uncharted and Wipeout 2047 and it's worrying that launch titles still look the best. It says to me the developers aren't interested in really trying anymore.

Now it would be stupid to judge a game from a single image but it's certainly not building my hopes up.

Yea, I'm in the somewhat-disappointed crowd. I'm sure it looks decent when you're running around in the game, but man, those jagged edges are really noticeable.

I'm more worried about the gameplay. I loved AC2 (AC1 not so much), but the gameplay of the series got old, boring, stale and repetitive in the subsequent games. Still haven't finished Revelation because, despite being very interested in the story I just wasn't having any fun at all playing the game.

So I really hope they're risking something new with AC3 and AC:L, but at least in the AC:L case that's not my impression from what I saw so far.

I agree with you about a lot of Vita games not using the Vita hardware to its full potential, but comparing them to PSP games is a stretch. Even in games that run at sub-native res, there are many other factors that the PSP would have never been able to pull off, such as shadows/lighting and number of characters present on a single screen.

I don't think it looks bad at all. People are forgetting that the screenshots captured on the Vita don't always accurately represent what a game looks like- they are compressed, and are best viewed on a Vita screen. Uncharted didn't look that great in screenshots from the Vita either. I'd actually say that doing a comparison between the two (based only on screens captures with the Vita), Assassin's Creed looks better.

I'd argue that no Vita games use the hardware to it's full potential yet. Most early Vita games were developed using PS3 engines, and were ported to the Vita- leading to games not always being very well optimized. Uncharted actually used the same engine as the PS3 games- I'm sure they could have gotten more out of the Vita if it were built from the ground up for it.

It looks better on the actual Vita, no way this looks like an average PSP game.

You should watch some gameplay videos.

Uncharted looks awful when you take a screenshot of it, yet it looks pretty nice on the Vita itself.

This seems like a similar situation.

    LittleBigPlanet? Gravity Rush?

Not launch titles and they look pretty nice. Definitely nothing that a PSP could have pulled off.

/me - glutton for punishment. I've ordered SF X Tekk. This is my last role of the Vita dice. YouTube vids convinced me, it does look like a packed out port. Shame none of the 'big' sites have any reviews up yet.

I'm going to buy that one as well I was almost tempted to go out today looking for it but it can wait until I see it somewhere, I think i'll also get most wanted and WRC depending on reviews.

While I do think the Vitas been disappointing so far I'll still be keeping mine Sony did promise it a 10 year life cycle so there are bound to be good games to come and the fact Nihilistic are out of the picture after COD gives me some hope.

Also I'm still enjoying Disgaea 3 it's a game I can and hopefully will play on and off for years just for the crazy stat building.

Obviously I'm a little late but THANKS! I even took a little time to read through the thread a bit and the game looks and sounds incredible. I've played quite a few psp games on the vita, namely GoW, Monster Hunter and GTA, and those AC:L screens completely blow those games out the water.

I don't know how any vita owner could not be hyped for this! :p

I think the Vita should be getting it's own ports of the full games not cut down versions if the games were as good it wouldn't really be an issue but so far they're just not.

I'm personally not going to buy anything that isn't the same game as the full console version in future unless it's exceptional like uncharted.

I'm not judging liberation yet but the graphics really aren't that great and most images around the web are from deceptive cutscenes from what I can see.

What cut down versions of games has the Vita gotten? I'm not saying there are none, I'm just wondering as I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I'm not so sure ports are the way to go. People already call the Vita a port machine(not in a good way).

Unique, yet good games in a series(like Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet and maybe AC) help the Vita's image more I think(and sales hopefully).

That's why I mentioned gameplay vids, that way you don't have to go by those awful Vita screenshots, or Ubisofts bullshots.
