But how many will justify the relatively lofty price tag? These next 3/4 months are surely crucial for the Vita in terms of whether it survives or dies a Sega death. The system needs a standout FPS. Restistance was poor, and with the same developer working on COD, the prospects don't look good for that!

Please cod got its name, and if you been following tweets from NS, game seems way better than resistance. They even said it is possible to increases the max player because lots of people wants more than 4vs4

  4. Did they? I remember reading somewhere that Sony spent less money advertising the Vita than MS did on Kinect.

That is true. Microsoft spent a ludicrous amount of money marketing the Kinect during its launch and the months following- about $500 million. Sony only spent 1/10 that amount- $50 mill, but it was supposedly more than had been spent on advertising any other PlayStation system at launch.

The amount Microsoft spent on advertising Kinect was a lot more than the money spent on advertising the Xbox 360 at launch, and as far as I can tell, is the most any company has ever spent marketing any kind of gaming hardware. Too bad the Kinect never really took off like Microsoft expected- they're still trying to push it, but for PCs instead. They lost money on the peripheral (though Microsoft's Kinect games did make them profit)- it didn't matter much though, because they made a ton of money in other areas, which more than made up for the losses.

The PSABR beta is on the PSN store, just like a normal demo would be.

I wasn't convinced, but I will be purchasing the game for sure(PSABR) after playing the beta and that video of NFSMW also looks good.

Two day one purchases it seems. Might have to get PSABR on the PS3 too.

Played around with the PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royal beta on Vita, and it's pretty fun. The graphics are really good looking, and it runs at a very smooth frame rate- there also wasn't any lag in matches. I didn't have any issues with the screen size like some people have complained about in previews. I'm definitely buying it when it launches! That being said, it's not perfect. The only issues I have had so far are less than perfect character balancing, and problems getting it to work with party.

There are basically three good characters: Kratos (easy to use), Parappa (about the same as Kratos), and Sly (takes a little bit more skill to use)- two decent characters: Sweet Tooth (never have I seen anyone win with him, but they tend to get 2nd or 3rd ), and Radec (who sometimes wins, but normally gets 2nd or 3rd)- and one OK/bad character: Fat Princess (almost always see people get last place with this character).

Several people tried inviting me to their parties, but every time I accepted, it would glitch out and not let me join. Dunno what is up with it. Kind irritating though

Because nothing says fun like rubbing and tapping pictures of women. Sexy! XD. Jankiest game I have seen on PSM so far. Pinky spots... XD

Been looking more at nfsmw the more clips I see the more it reminds me of the PSP Test Drive Unlimited I might maybe purchase it just for the open world gameplay but the traffic still really concerns me it's just so lacking in all the clips I keep seeing.

I'm definitely going to have to watch clips of the finished game before making a decision, I do think it has the potential to be fun though.

I really want to download the PS:AS beta, but I've been reading good things and I have it pre-ordered. I don't know if I want to ruin the unboxing experience. This is a downside of early access betas. Especially for a game where the single player isn't the driving force of the game. I had already passed up the earlier beta, and I was pretty glad I did.

Are all of the characters and maps available? or is it more of a demo?

Also, does anybody see a better price than $77 (tigerdirect) for the 32gig memory card?

Just posted on Nihilistic's Facebook wall. Thank God we wont see them making anymore Vita games.

"There’s no bigger cliché in the videogame industry right now than to say that a studio is re-organizing itself away from retail game development and toward the new challenges of downloadable and mobile games. Everyone knows retail sales are down, publishers are hurting, independent developers are suffering, blah blah blah. With this in mind, Nihilistic is announcing today that (OMG!) we are re-organizing our company after 14 years of working with retail boxed game development, and re-forming as nStigate Games, a new company focused on downloadable, on-line, and mobile games.

So is this newsworthy? Well, honestly it probably isn’t, except that we are making this transition without any planned layoffs or leaving any debts behind. Nihilistic will fade into the sunset the way it started; a collaboration of talented folks dedicated to transparency and respect for employees. Over the next couple months we’ll get leaner as some of our talent finds new homes, and emerge as a smaller and more focused company.

The future for nStigate is yet to be written, but the history of Nihilistic is coming to a close. We thank all the people who have worked here over the last 14 years. It’s been a privilege and a joy to serve our players for the past years. We love what we do, and we love it when you guys like it. Thank you for playing."

  15. ^ Good riddance. Can't wait to see their new iOS games, lol.

And the PASBR beta only has 6 characters and 2/3 maps iirc.
