Yeah I still rate the hardware but Sony have made some awful 'Sega like' decisions with it. The Vita should have come with at least a 16gb card to entice people in, and regardless of piracy they should have gone micro sd. Far more people would buy a Vita had they got the basics right. Instead, even us suckers who actually bought one, feel like like it's a rip off.

Seriously, £45 for Fifa Vita. I think even the old one still costs that much to download from the store! What. Tha. Duck. I would need to be taking EVERY illegal drug & a few pharmaceutical ones before I'd pay that money.

I assume EA need to charge that much to make a return as nobody has a Vita, and nobody has one because of Sony's terrible.. everything.

  2. PS Mobile is launching tomorrow. A PS Blog post about it should be coming later today.

    Don't stalk me.
have you heard which games are launching with it? I heard Super Crate Box and Lemmings from somewhere, but they said 20 were releasing with it.

  4. I don't have a clue. All I know is that new FuturLab game whose name escapes me at the moment.

If you're in the US, the Silent Hill Book of Memories and Virtue's Last Reward demos are up in the PS Store. We also got quite a few awesome new PS1 titles along with New Little King's Story. :)

Nice- a lot of good stuff on PSN this week. Also pretty cool that they are finally launching PS Mobile. I think I'm going to wait on the new Escape Plan DLC though- need to play through the last two still, and it isn't on sale?

Actually, that makes me wonder. Did Sandisk help them with this new format? Sony had Sandisk's help creating all of their Memory Sticks.

Yea, I'm waiting too. I haven't even finished the game yet :p And no, it doesn't look like it's on sale, so I may wait for it to drop.

PS Mobile is live now and has its own tab in the PS Store! Everybody's Arcade is free, so be sure to at least check that out.

Edit: Everybody's Arcade is in the Casual category and not the Arcade category for some reason. Just a heads-up.

    Nice.

I'll probably be buying more stuff off this store tonight than in the regular PSN Store.

Little King's Story was a bit more than I thought it would be.

  9. Don't forget that you can get $20 back next month if you spend $100 or more in PSN in October. That shouldn't be difficult if you're going mostly digital like me. I'm thinking:

    - New Little King's Story ($40, digital)
    - Ragnarok Odyssey (40, digital)

I'm still undecided on whether I want a digital or physical copy of DJMAX Technika Tune and Need for Speed Most Wanted (if that's still out this month). I'll probably get a retail copy Assassin's Creed 3 Liberation at some point too.

    Vita has too many games.

Downloaded everybodys arcade but deleted it like 30 seconds later theres nothing free in it just IAP packs for what looks like rubbish flash type games.

I was hoping to see more real apps on playstation mobile but it seems to be all bad games priced the same as the proper games.

How are the prices the same as proper games? They seem lower to me .79 - 5.99(most of them)?

Their about the same as the PS1/PSP games in the Uk store and I'd much rather have them to be honest. Plus the descriptions are terrible and don't tell you anything at all I've got no idea what any of them even are.

Ah, gotcha. I'm not a big PS1 fan, except for a few select games(which most of the time end up being 9.99). So honestly I'd prefer to spend my money on some of these mobile offerings.

I am keeping an eye out for some reviews on some of these unknown games.

The Mobile store isn't going to blow anybody away currently, but hopefully it improves.

I'm mostly hoping for some select iOS games. I like iOS gaming, just not the controls.

I think I'll just stick to android/IOS for those type of games although I think I do remember beats on the PS1.

Hopefully the mobile thing will take off though it's another thing that has huge potential if it's done right but I'd like to see more in the way of apps though like alternative browsers, music players etc.

Ok, so i bought Super Crate Box. £2.70 or summit random... A lot more than the ios version/free pc version. Anyway, it's a great game that definitely benefits from the Vita's controls. Massive shame there's no leaderboards though... I wonder if that's to do with difficulty of implementing them. Now i have two reasons to switch the vita on ... Youtube & scb yay!

SCB sounds like a good reason to upgrade to 1.81, but it'd be a closer if Halfbrick ever ported Fruit Ninja.

I bought Super Crate Box (which pretty much everyone here knows about), Aqua Kitty, Rebel, and Fuel Tiracas. All of them are really good.

Aqua Kitty is a very pretty arcade shooter with a silly premise- cats have run out of milk, and they just so happened to find milk forming naturally under the earths crust. You pilot a submarine armed with guns, and must protect the kittens mining the milk from hoards of evil robot sealife. Really polished, and it's pretty fun. I'd say it's worth a look.

Rebel is a survival game- you play as escaped prisoner who lacks any means of defending himself, and you run around various areas collecting gems (which are used to unlock two other game modes with levels, various powerups, and alternate jumpsuits), while trying to get your enemies to kill each other. It's really addicting- reminds me of Minigore, except you have no weapons, and you try to get your enemies to shoot each other. Has a very charming graphical style, and I think it's worth the price.

Fuel Tiracas is an arcade/puzzle game that is kind of hard to describe. The developers (FuturLab- creators of Coconut Dodge and Velocity) describe it as a mix of spinning plates and five finger fillet (what Bishop does in Aliens with the knife). It is set in the same universe as Velocity, and your goal is to purify Tiracas's atmosphere by firing up nuclear reactors. You basically have to try to touch specific spots on the screen as fast as you can (for higher scores) to fill up the gas meters. There are different types of gases, which you have to react to differently- some you ignore because they hurt your progress, and others you have to touch multiple times, etc. There are also multiple gas meters with their own color, which is where the spinning plates part comes in. You have to get all of the gas meters within a certain range to charge the reactor, and the meters slowly deplete as you fill others. Really addicting and polished, and has online leaderboards (and built in achievements, which will probably be updated to become trophies in the future). Definitely worth it at such a low price- lower than the cost of any paid iOS app.
