Waiting for 1.8 is killing me. I'm dying to get my hands on some PS1 games for the Vita. What will be the first couple of PS1 games you download to the Vita when the update occurs? And has anyone heard any rumors about when the update is suppose to take place besides "Summer 2012"?
Recent rumors are saying that PS1 support is coming on the day of Sony's Gamescom conference, August 14.

I know can't wait! Appearently some site found out that Kat from GR is in it too. Maybe she's vita exclusive, however I would like to see a GR game of epic proportion done on PS3
1.8 means a few things for me. 1) Wolo's latest firmware exploit 2) PS1 games 3) Why am I more excited about playings old games I've already finished on a device capable of so much more? le sigh... my 3ds is becoming interesting again, thats how bad this dry spell has gotten.
Dunno if they'll make a PS3 only game- they said that it was too hard to get the controls to work well there, and they worked better on Vita with it's six-axis gyro. It's certainly possible though. I think we're probably going to get another Gravity Rush game, because Gravity Rush was kind of like an intro to the world- it left a lot of questions unanswered, and ended with a cliffhanger.

Right now the game I'd like to see the most in my Vita is Rainbow Moon. Along with Final Fantasy Tactics, Shining Force 1-2 and a few others it's one of the best SRPGs I ever played, and would fit perfectly in a handheld.

It just released with New Super Mario Brothers 2. What did you expect. (I mean, even with out that the 3DS would outsell the Vita, but not by quite as much) Also, can we for once see the world wide sales?
I hope Abes Oddysey comes out for PS1 classics would love to play that again And 3DS smells-did no one tell you lot that lol
Unfortunately I think they won't release the update at Gamescon but simply say when the official release will be. Early September is my guess, unfortunately
Okay guys it would be cool to play ps1 classics... But really? I rather to see games like AC, Cod, Killzone, Warrior's lair on the vita.. Vita needs vita games.. All these extra features are not really going to help sales at all. I rather to see Sony just making games for the vita not wasting their times trying to make old games playable... It could have been nice if it happened earlier, but now, just no.
I'm just waiting for Sound Shapes, which is supposed to be out on US PSN on Tuesday (finally). I'll probably spend more time making music with the level editor than actually playing through the platformer levels.
Are you kidding me? The nostalgic desire to play old games such as Twisted Metal 2 is going to draw in a large group of 30-something guys and thus boost sales. You must not be old enough to have played psOne games as a child. And anyways, most of the games you stated already have been announced or have a set release date. The Vita has an extremely strong lineup in the coming months (In my opinion stronger than the 3DS's lineup in its first year). Sony needs to improve the software of the system(PS1 support, better browser, folders) seeing as how they have solid gaming releases planned.
