Well, Sony sent my request for a refund to a higher authority. They said they might refund my wipeout hd purchase so I could download it again on my master account. (even though I didn't buy it, I got it for free during the PSN outage) EDIT: They came back and said they cannot refund a purchase of $0.00 (which I figured). They said they would set up an appointment with me via phone with an agent.
There is more content in each of these expansion packs then in the original Vita version of the game. I think each pack costs $7 a piece if you buy them bundled. The actual game costs $40. And each expansion pack, each of which has more content, costs $7. That's pretty crazy.
Just picked up the power grip tonight and wanted to share my impressions with everyone. The grips are the same, soft rubbery plastic that Nyko puts on pretty much all of their batteries/grips. It's similar to the material on the PDP Trigger Grips so if you like that feel, you know what to expect here. Contrary to what might have been posted before, the handles do not fold in and the grip is one solid piece. They are surprisingly light for being a battery grip. The grips actually feel really solid and and comfortable to hold. I am one of the few who did not like the PDP Trigger feel and these feel better to me. Plus, you still have direct touch to the shoulders which I felt were a little soft with the Trigger grip. The unit has a sliding mechanism that locks on the very bottom that inserts into the Vita. You put your Vita into the grip, slide the mechanism up and then push a slide button to lock it in place. It feels very secure and doesn't feel like it would fall out. The top has a little ridge that keeps the top part of the screen from popping out. When you slide and lock in the bottom part, it pushes the top of the Vita against the top of the grip keeping it all secure. I cannot report on battery life at this time since I only just got the grips. The battery is rated ate 2800 mAh. I'll try it out and see what happens and report back. Anyway's, here's pics, let me know if you have questions! http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163422.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163436.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163605.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163705.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163723.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163851.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163934.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163947.jpg http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad220/kman316/2012-06-21163922.jpg
Do you feel there's any change the grip might scratch the Vita during removal or when you're attaching the grip?
Side topic for a second, looks like Nintendo announced a 3DS XL. Any opinions? I loved my DSi XL so might bite on this one someday. Really want to see how the stereoscopic screens look with a much larger size. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/06/22/nintendo-reveals-3ds-xl
A double shot to the groin. No second analog stick. Obviously not compatible with the circle pad pro. Likely equalling less overall software support for the CPP. No dual analog stick gaming goodness from the 3DS. That's a real shame.
aesthetically, its more cohesive with the wiiU which is probably a hint of things to come. The deal closer for me would have been a secondary circle pad, and since its lacking that, I consider it the nail in the coffin. I'm wondering if the larger screen affects the viewing angle for 3d. There is definitely a sweet spot on the 3ds, not sure if the bigger screen requires it to be held farther away now.
I don't really like the look of the 3DS XL. It looks too round, cheap and plasticy. and a Pixel density of 96? Really? Back to Vita games, here's probably my best screenshot/picture from Wipeout HD/2048:
Enh, I had a 3DS for a few months, and I never had any complaints about the thing's size. It seems like they're addressing something that didn't affect that many people. (I'll admit, though, that the longer battery life is nice. ) Anyway, back to the Vita! Are there any specific dates for new games coming out in the next few months? I know there are a couple of games that have been promised for this summer (Oddworld, Little King's Story, Retro City Rampage, Doctor Who, Jet Set Radio), but I don't think I've seen anything firm other than Soundshapes...
Opened my Vita today. Came in at around 8AM and havent been able to stop playing it since. This is what Ive always needed!
I'll probably regret it but I bought Resistance Burning Skies today, it's a game I always intended to buy then I let the reviews sway me away but I still have that FPS itch. Won't have time to play it for about a day but I'm hoping I'll enjoy it anyway really want to get the Wipeout DLC as well but I don't wont to buy a £35 card for PSN which is all I could see about today.
It seems some people here did enjoy playing through Resistance but i personally found it a flat experience (demo), and don't want to endorse substandard games on the Vita... And yes, even if that means the system fails. I would buy for great story or good multiplayer, as i understand it Resistance has neither. I hope you get your moneys worth though.
Thanks! Only FIFA so far. I really want to get Wipeout but it might go on sale soon in this big Vita sale thing.
