I won't argue with the second half of your comment (I, personally, wouldn't make that complaint, since I'll buy pretty much everything, but I can see there being that argument), but I totally disagree with the bolded part. You've got the full attention of gamers and games journalists and games media during E3 -- why not show off what you've got? What better time could there possibly be than when everyone is watching? If you're in Europe or Japan, then I guess there's TGS or Gamescom, but for North American Vita owners/prospective owners/people with barely a passing interest, it's got to be E3...

I'm actually disgusted with Sony right now if resistance had of lived up to it's potential I'd probably have been content but to me it seems right now that Sony aren't supporting it if it wasn't for Disgaea 3 I probably would sell it. I'm also afraid the reason they still haven't shown anything about call of duty is it's probably as bad as resistance.

The hardware has so much potential and it's being completely wasted right now I guess the honeymoon period is now over for me.

The way I see this is with any other product - functionality will eventually come. I saw the same with my iOS device and pretty much all consoles/handhelds. With the Vita, I wonder if expectations were a little too high or maybe we feel that some of these functions are half-a$$ed.

Where I think it hurts from some is that some of these features were presented and marketed a long time ago and have yet come to fruition. Remote play and PSone (just around the corner) are 2 that come to mind. I'm partial to the first more so since it was my ticket to being able to play my console games without monopolizing the TV.

Personally, if remote play comes, LBP Vita is release and I get a constant release of decent games (let's say 1 a month), I'd be a happy person. Pair that with the prospect of PS Suite (or whatever they call it) and I could get my casual fix in.

Again, I agree with your point - tons of potential as we see it. I'm sure we'll see functions evolve with time though.

I'm hoping there is more in store for the Vita as E3 winds down. Personally, I think Sony is spreading themselves thin, which is something characteristic of the company even before Kaz took the helm. I honestly thought this would change, and their new mantra would focus on a core group of products and a symbiotic unity between them all - essentially Apple's business model.

Unfortunately I'm not seeing this, and devoting as much resources as they have on Playstation Mobile further exemplifies their odd need to cannibalize their own marketshare. HTC can pump out more PS phones in a couple months than Sony has sold Vitas, and with a PS on your phone, wheres the draw to bother purchasing a dedicated handheld? I think all iOS gamers can agree that taking a hit in graphics is an easy trade-off for having access to quality games on a device you carry with you day in and day out.

I think the Vita's saving grace at this point is that it's got the capability for digital distribution, and will probably be a means for more and more games being sold on the device given the risk involved in manufacturing physical copies.

Lets hope TGS has more in store for our Vitas!

Unfortunately it now looking like PS Mobile might exclude the Vita altogether and really it will never be successful on Android why would developers lock themselves into Sony's more restrictive SDK instead of the normal Android one where they don't have to pay Sony on the exact same devices, they would have to be crazy to even consider using PS Mobile with no Vita Audience.

Even when it comes to PS1 games etc Android can already do that fine without Sony I could load up FPSE now and play any PS1 game I can get the CD for and it will probably run better than Sony's Sandboxed Emulator.

I'm not sure if this will make you happy (because it's here) or annoyed (because it's just Sony doing it half-heartedly), but they announced limited remote play this morning...remote play now for BlazBlue and BlazBlue Continuum Shift, and upcoming support for the Team Ico & God of War HD Collections. Also cross-saves for BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend, MLB12 The Show, MotorStorm RC, Sly Cooper Thives in Time, Sound Shapes and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

No, I hadn't seen that, thanks. I had heard about cross-play/cross-save, but the remote play titles are new. Hoping this opens up the door for a LOT more.

    Thanks again for sharing this.

Still kinda sad people with a modded PS3 can have remoteplay on any game they want and yet Sony can only manage a couple of titles after months, their either being restrictive on purpose and killing the Vita at the same time or they employ idiots.

I agree. From the video's I've seen, the experience seems fine. There might be a little lag, but that's expected.

I remember when Onlive was announced for iOS devices, I had the same interest there. December came and Onlive came to Android. Months later, still no Onlive. My Samsung Player 5 should be here next week, can't wait to see if Onlive works with that.

Point being, I remember when Killzone 3 was demonstrated with Remote Play. That sold me right there. I really was disappointed when the Vita launched, people tried to remove play KZ3 and it would not let them.

More Vita news that Sony didn't feel like publicizing: there's a Madden 13 bundle on the way.

It's a shame that there wasn't some big, public press conference where they could've announced all these things!

Just played me some uncharted to remind myself I didn't waste my money, it worked pretty well that game definitely shows what the Vita can do and I feel a bit better about the system again.

Also just seen a picture of the Vita running Playstation Mobile I don't know why they didn't mention that yesterday it was making me think the whole thing was pointless even one picture would have helped.

So things are looking a bit better than I first feared anyway.

Probably only of interest to me but there is a blackopsdeclassified site it doesn't show much as yet but it shows more than Sony's E3 did.

I'm hoping that's an actual real vita shot wish they hadn't put the mark on top of it though. It also says a Trailer is coming soon.

that looks like a screenshot of the black ops 2 presentation, and why would they show the status bar in a screenshot anyway?

The issue is that Sony gave developers control over remote play- it's possible on almost all games, but it has to be enabled in the games code. Sony isn't allowed to enable it in games not published by them, and often times they are unable to enable it in games published by them. It pretty much all falls on the developers of each specific game. It's a bunch of legal BS that has Sony's hands tied up, and it's their own fault.

You are probably right but it could be a screenshot they took in game and shown as a picture.

Stupid move by Sony then that's the same thing killed the PSP Go dead from the start, they gave developers the decision if their games would be downloadable onto it and the result was most of the new big titles weren't on it.
