Thanks for posting your opinion. I have been looking at this game and this "tipped me over the edge". I have to go buy it noww.......
Depends how much value you place in $0.99... I added a high quality youtube video of the iphone gameplay to the first post & below. I still think that the hurdles should involve a flick to jump over the hurdle. As it stands, the player just taps the screen and the runner jumps automatically. That is hardly challenging, engaging gameplay. [hqyoutube]nUHQQNhYi0o[/hqyoutube]
this game is awesome, the way they setup how to do races/jumps etc is awesome! i would love to see individual event records!
I love it when all the other guys are running at the same time. I wish it's like that when we play too.
Mini Mode Does anyone know what the Mini Mode does? I seem confused with it since I turn it on and nothing happens...
If anyone could give me a clue how to beat the javelin throw on Pro, I'd be eternally grateful. I'm releasing at the apex of the power-up sparkly-thing. Maybe I'm not running fast enough? It's the only thing in the main even mode I've yet to beat. I'm lucky to get past 82.
Who else thinks new events would make this game even MORE AMAZING. Online play would be so incredible too.
HJJ, wish I could help buddy, but pv'ing is my bane also. I made it once barely, but have tried probably 30 times. I was ready to jab that pole somewhere
Some help Javelin Javelin is by far the most difficult event. It's the only one where I didn't beat the world record. My best is at 96.30 but I don't really remember how I did it. It's quite random. Of course you have to run fast (like for the long jump and the pole vault), but then, there's a timing to have, and I really don't know what it is. I usually try to start to power up at the beginning of the orange zone, and release as soon as the sparkle reaches the top. But sometimes, when I think I've released too early, I throw further. I've tried starting to power up earlier and later, holding for a longer and a shorter time, but I've never managed to know what I have to do to beat the record. Pole vault It's really a question of timing. Of course you need to run a bit fast, but that's not the most important part. You need to hold the buttons when the sparkle is a the bottom, and release them when the sparkle reaches the top. Actually, try to release a moment before it reaches the top. My best is at 6.31 and I manage to get over 6.00 quite often. For the other events, here's my score : 100m : 9.28 Long jump : 9.30 (quite lucky with that one) 110m hurdles : 11.84 I guess, when you manage to get the running right, it's a good start for having good scores. There's actually a trick with that "double green buttons" running sequence. I noticed that there's never more than 2 green buttons appearing on the same side in a row. It's like L-R-L-L-R-L-R-R etc. but you'll never have L-R-R-R-L. So the trick is that, when you have 2 buttons on the same side in a row, you know that the next one will be on the other side. Just directly tap that other side before actually seeing the green button.
can we put up a poll (pun ) for "good game, worth it" and "bad game, not worth it" I am kinda hesitant about getting it since I know some other cool things are right around the corner.
bbx, thanks for the tips. I can now get about a foot in pole vault. After so many tries, I cannot imagine that my timing continues to be off. Maybe I'm not "running" fast enough. Aargh!
After reading this thread I decided to take the massive plunge and buy this game and haven't been disappointed. It's a heap of fun, but really short as the only thing to beat in Challenge mode for me now is the Javelin, which I still suck at lol
