It is weird, indeed. I know -and not particular for Just Survive XP, that some devices suffer from lags when they have a jailbreak. If that is not the case for you, then it would be interesting to know what could be causing it. Let's wait for v1.1 which is currently in review by Apple. When it comes out, just in case, uninstall the current version prior to download the updated one. Fingers crossed ...
I've played again and it's working fine for the moment... Really strange - I'm certain I did not have anything downloading or installing in the background, so I don't know what's going on. No Jailbreak or anything silly like that... I did have less than 30MB of free space though, could that affect it at all?
Maybe ... Just in case, try v1.1 which is out now. Hope you guys like it since we have revamped some screens and graphics (and introduced a new one).
I tried it! Haven't noticed too much of a difference, but then I haven't been playing that much - too busy at the moment.

Being a right hander, The touch control has totally pwned me. The fire button is on the right side, which means I have to move the ship with my left hand?! This is kind of sad, since the touch control is the most responsive control of of the 3 options. Edit: ohhh I can change the fire button! My bad
