Here's al little iphone/ipod trick for those looking to play there music library over apps.

Let's say for instance i want to play my own music over SimCity. My first instinct would be start the song and start the app, but to no avail:( SimCity cuts off the music:(

heres a backdoor: start the app, let it load to the menu screen, then hit the sleep/wake button.

then with screen off double tap the home button which will bring up ypur ipod controls, start it up, then slide to unlock.

wa-la you've just no fooled the device into playing music over the app you just loaded.

most of the time the games sounds will be muted as well but i thought this to be a neat little trick

Or you could just double-tap the home button during the game. :)

It's a neat trick, but I think most people already know of it.

    P.S.

if you want a specific song.....start it in ipod, then stop it. before you continue with the first step.

Note: you can still control the music menu while playing the app by double tapping home and bringing up the ipod controls

Yeah, some games stop the music you have playing and plays it's own, even if you did it this way.

    One example is CBNK3D.

    @Herp: good point,
I would say my approach is for those that use the double taps first function as phone favorites,

Yeah, but I prefer when games allow me to still use their sound effects with my music.

I agree, there are some apps where I'd rather have the sound fx
But there are apps where it doesn't bother me cause the sound fx aren't that good anyway

This isn't a "trick"...it's a feature that is widely known, and as others have said, you don't need to put the touch/phone on sleep first either.

Voila! A spelling lesson from someone who admittedly doesn't know the proper spelling!

    ;)

I admit I didn't know that trick until a few days ago.

Obviousley there are enough people that don't know about it.

secondly if your double tap is set to phone favorites you do have to use the sleep wake button

    and @ rocketman:
theres no way that every person you know knows about that unless
EVERY PERSON you know own an ipod/iphone.

there is of course the off chance you just told them that even if they didn't own one of the two devices....however that would just make you look like a douche.

and as for the spelling lesson: in America it's spelled wa-la......go back to france if you care that much, because it was obviously spelled good enough to read.

so when people now about games that are out weeks before touch arcade says anything about them, what do you call that.

so most people know it, and some dont

sorry i said anything apparently you guys know everything.

skrew you guys, skrew this site.....im finding a better forum
