Every week I have this predicament of what to buy from the app store and this time its shooters. What do you guys think is better, or does anyone have any other suggestions for shooters for that matter?
dropship by a mile. cheaper and more fun IMO. dropship is more polished and the controls are wayyyyyy more innovative. i hate the controls in Platypus... using touch, your finger covers the left of the screen and LOADS of major enemies come from that side.
Dropship. Much more fun and you can resque your contact ! Platypus is a scrolling shooter and you only can go up down back en further but you are always moving.. Dropship also downloads new maps that are released automatic so you get maps like a Christmas three and stuff..
Dropship is one of the best games I've ever played on any platform. It is superior to Platypus. blakespot
both games are alright but dropship is a bit more entertaining. It seems a bit overhyped by some people here though. But íts a nive addition to your applibrary.
Dropship is less than I expected, and no it isn't anything like Venger. But still a really good game.
both they are both real gems platypus because of the wonderous charming graphics dropship owing to the advanced interface i can understand people liking dropship more though so you could get that now and wait for a pricedrop on platypus?
I'd like to add 2079 to the list. Great controls (better than Dropship: tilt to move, virtual joystick to shoot), great Geometry Wars look.
platypus is better in my IMO better graphic design on platypus and i recommended it if u like classic shooet em up
Like I have said in other Dropship threads, I really wanted to like this game, but I just don't. I'm on level 14/18 (I believe) and I've only played about half an hour or so. As a clay animator myself, I'd have to go with Platypus. It was an awesome idea to make a game like that!
btw there s thread related to dropship saying it was very much anticipated but turned out to be shit and playtpus is a fierce fighter jet dropship however is really just a fuckin dropship lol
When most people love something and others passionately hate it, like Dropship, that usually means it's really great. That's usually how I judge reviews on IMDB and Amazon. A bunch of one star reviews mixed with a ton of five star reviews will generally mean it's great.
Wouldn't it be better to have 500 great reviews and no bad reviews than to have 450 great reviews and 50 bad reviews? Anyway, I do like the game. It's just too short and I feel ngmoco could have done more to it. It's like the whole game is basically the same thing just a little harder. I hope they add more levels in the downloads section thing though.
In an ideal world, yeah. That'll never happen though. There will NEVER be a product that everybody loves. Usually when something is really special, there will be a number of people who just hate it. I don't mean dislike, I mean HATE. It's just the way it is.
