Just looked-up and found a thread about this issue on stackoverflow So the easy way seem to play without logging on GC for now. After release, (in a non-sandbox environment) the trouble will resolve itself by logging out of GC and back in. They propose an immediate solution, but I don't recommend it cause it might be very annoying for you. Anyway, the leaderboards will be wiped-out on release.
Well, to be honest, geometry dash is the greatest game to ever grace this earth. But I was playing this aALOT more than geometry dash the past couple days till the update hit for geometry dash. Then I havnt touched a single other ios game. It's all a matter of preference. The thing that you can't really compare about the 2 is: this one is infinite, and geometry dash is level based. The level editor in geometry dash is what always keeps me coming back to it. As I am the guy that tops thee creators leaderboard. but I would be long past geometry dash if it wasn't for the level editor. There really isn't just a good way to compare the two!
Also it is tough seeing the difference between some of the power ups, as I have trouble seeing some colors, maybe a bit more distinction between the power up colors. Mainly the freeze and shield ones Edit : Sorry for repost, didn't see I mentioned that already lol
How about difficulty? Both equally challenging or one is harder? And controls wise, is it correct to affirm that geometry dash is based on timing (i suppose that jump height is restricted) while Plats is based on jump precision? Yeah I can see what could be done about that
Well the difficulty is also hard to compare, because each level in geometry dash is completely different difficulty wise, some levels I could complete even if I played it for a day straight, while some I beat in 1 try. And ya, geometry dash is more trial and error and timing, while this is more twitchy and you have 1 shot at it. Also geometry dash is music based while this has just got 1 continuous track
Btw have you tried the dailies, which are level based and are refreshed everyday? Also thinking of perhaps adding something like a 100-levels-to-beat mode at some point, but probably not in the short term.
When you get the magnet power up... Is there any reason/method to your madness... Why it takes a while for the blocks to catch up to the magnet? I know I've died a few times and the if the power ups hit the magnet a little quicker I may have lived? I'm just selfish though!
Just played this game today thank to the dev for letting me test this game. Very simple to play and well designed but can be very frustrating at time ^^ I guess I am not so good when it comes to platform games, I died to quickly too many times, so I am not too sure if it's me or if it's the game that is too hard from the beginning. I was pretty good at tiny wings and other one touch games, but not here.
heheh...I saw doomfan's video with the power-up chasing him, was funny. Its a matter of relative speed. Going toward P-U means game speed + P-U speed while going away from PU means P-U speed - game speed. Increasing P-U speed to resolve the later case would make the former case look glitchy. I can try bending physics to make P-U speed change depending on situations, which might help on this.
Yeah the game is meant to be fair, but very challenging. It is normal to die several times in the first 10 sec before shaking-up yourself for a good run. There is a learning curve though. Since the game is fair (most of the time), it is possible to improve. 20-40 mins into the game and the scores seem to improve greatly (on average). So it's not you being bad, the game is designed to produce 15-30 sec runs most of the time, and up to 2-3 mins runs on epic moments. I would have seen no problem tweaking the difficulty down if that's what players would have asked but it seems that lots of them appreciate challenging games . And yes, the game is at full throttle right off the bat. There is absolutely no increase of difficulty over time. This was an unsual design choice, which again I was prepare to change but so far it seems to serve the game well.
I don't mind the magnet thing..it's fun to have them chase sometimes especially if you are mad jumping..they can't catch up at times but try so hard could be an achievement if you were planning some..get three powerups to chase player at once or something like that..call it Trains #
Hehe yeah well...trying to eliminate unfair situations so I modified the attraction formula. Seems to work all-right now. Hopefully we'll have a new build ready in a few days. Oh, and Happy New Year! Live long and prosper.
Ahhhhh! Just hit my highest score and was loading the video and it glitched and didn't save... Sad day
Yeah, not much we can do about 3rd-party library bugs, unless it was a low memory crash after a super long session?
