Yesterday, I was happily collecting coins from my Zen Garden when I had to quit the game. 10 minutes later I returned to find that every single one of my plants had gone from happy to unhappy. It is a day later and my plants are still unhappy. I have monkeyed with the date and time to see if I can trigger some kind of reset but nothing is having any effect. Does anybody have any idea what went wrong, and how to fix it?
"Happy" is only supposed to last a day. Wait a bit and they will all want water. Give em what they want (water, and then bug spray or the phonograph depending on what they ask for) and they will be happy again. There can be a gap between the end of the first happy period and them wanting water. For some reason, the first gap seems longer than the gap between the second and third happy periods.
Thank you. It just seemed odd that despite the fact that all of the plants were on different "happy cycles," all of them went unhappy in a matter of minutes, and at the same time; some of them only hours after their happy cycle started. Edit: It's been 3 days and none of my plants are asking for anything (water, fertilizer, etc) and none are happy except for the ones I have acquired since the "happy wipe," and those, while glowing, are not spitting out any coins. Edit: I found a few posts on the Steam forum of all places, describing similar behavior (also on the iPhone version). The growing consensus is that this is some type of bug.
I dont recall how many days it was for me initially ... maybe 3 or so. After that, the happy cycle was daily or more frequently. My glowing plants dont spit out coins for 30-40 seconds or so...there is some warm up time after you come to look at them. I would wait another day or two, and only then sell any still unhappy marigolds (may as well keep the non-duplicate others to work to the achievement). I dont bother to bug spray plants that have already been happy once, its not clear to me its profitable unless you let the garden run, or continually use chocolates before going absent. The next day the plant that formerly wanted spray, after watering, may "forget" that it wanted spray and ask for music, which is free. The get-every-plant achievement will likely take me forever. Way too many duplicates. I have obtained maybe 5 lilly pads, and no other water plants, for example.
Thanks for the response. My garden was bugged-out for about a week. Nothing would stay happy in the main garden for more than a few hours and many times would not hit a happy cycle for days at a time. Last night, however, they all woke up at once. After watering, etc, they resumed to their normal glowy, coin-spewing behavior. It's definitely a bug (there are reports of it on other forums) but obviously not a common one. Guess I was just lucky.
i've just updated to version 1.6 for my iphone and before the update i had completed all my achievements and now half of them show as not completed? has this happened to anyone else?
I have been trying too for too long now and also cannot seem to get the achievement. all i have left is this one and collecting all the plants. still missing a few of those too which are also next to impossible to get. i have so much money now that i change the dates to buy the random plant in order to collect them all. although each time i do it, it takes a few hours before they begin to grow unlike how they do when you buy or are rewarded one through normal means. but definitely these 2 achievements are made too hard because you need to depend on luck a little too much.
I get an average of say .7 plants from the bonus game in additional ways to play which is a pool level when you get a ton of the pea shooters which shoot in three lanes. I get a little less from the wack a mole type bonus game, but it doesnt take as long. Just play those games till your eyes bleed (if you really want the plants achievement). The slot machine level is not fun to play and doesnt give plants, so I dunno about doing that one.
How does the game knows time passed since last played for zen garden? Checks the clock or running on background ? I'm asking because i'm worried if it drains my battery quickly.
It wouldn't be the game draining the battery, It marks the time down when you leave Zen Garden and when you enter Zen Garden it does the maths to get the time inbetween.
Yeah, except the max number of each item you can hold is supposed to be 20. A full garden obtained through cheating isn't particularly impressive.
Great game. I think it's one of my best so far....Very addictive! To those who thinks $2.99 is expensive...come on...give some credits to the game developers!
Holy moly, how long did it take to do that?? I've got a fraction of that and the damn plants are demanding music - but I can't afford the thing as I've got less than $3000 Is there a faster way to earn money?
