They have to be. Zen Garden is where you make money so the high price keeps you coming back and playing.

It's gonna take a lot of planting to get $100,000 (for both games) though...

EDIT: I wish there was a way to make money faster. They could put a little icon where if you follow them on Twitter or like them on facebook and you get about $10,000.

does anyone know if you can then get zen garden plants from killing zombies after the update or do you have to buy them every time? Haven't got any yet from zombies. I knew in the pc version you could sometimes get a zen garden plant as a present from killing zombies.

Too bad I deleted the game, so much for save games. Will have to replay again.

I just replanted plants as they get destroyed. Always only having one plant per lane.

Then try to plant the big wallnuts as soon as possible, it is easy after that.

Since one of the new achievements was completing that minigame without wallnuts or pumpkins, I decided to try using those and found it pretty easy to complete it that way.

Yeah, I just finished it twice and didn't even use pumpkins.

    My Method:
Plants I used: Sunflower, Twin-Sunflower, Squash , Repeater, Small Wallnut, Large Wallnut and a Large Wallnut Imitator (you don't need any other plants, so just get some bomb ones and snow pea just in case)
Plant two sunflowers in the same row. When you get about 75 sun, plant a small Wallnut. You can let the zombies attack them for ages. Meanwhile, plant even more sunflowers. Then start planting big Wallnuts on each row, quite near to the road that the zombies come onto. Start using the Twin-Sunflower loads. Then you can start planting the two-shot firing plants. If you get near trouble use the jumping squashy plant thing!

FINALLY a major update for this amazing game. I love Zombotany, kept playing that on my iPad, but Zombotany 1 is too easy, I hope they port over Zombotany 2 soon, that one was freakishly fun, the tallnut zombie looks so funny.
The $50,000 price tag seems a bit high at this point... In total I think you'll need at least $200,000 to unlock everything, including 3 mini-games and zen garden equipment. That's gonna take at least a month I think if you play casually.
Is marigold the only plant you get for zen garden? I don't see any other plants you can buy in the shop at this point.

I just got the achievement for this one.

My technique was to create 2 paths full of spikeweed.

Top and bottom lane, put a garlic at the beginning to divert the zombies and fill them with sunflower for money.
Middle lane, put a garlic at the top to divert the zombies.
In the two lanes that are left, cover the floor with spikeweed. It takes 3 or 4 to kill the peashooter.
You can use mines, squash and other bombs to kill the wallnuts which are too resistant for the spikeweed.

Dont forget to replace the garlics! i ended up putting two at the top of each lane so that zombies couldnt escape it.

You can get different plants as a random drop from zombies and by buying the present i the shop for $7500.
In the PC version, i think there are 32 different plants. Now, that is gonna take a while to collect...

The iPad version should have been updated first,
I have both versions but I prefer the big screen and doesn't feel very good playing on a small ip4 screen,
I also downloaded the iPhone version on my iPad and it just sucks compared to the beautiful graphics of the HD version,
I'd rather wait for the iPad uodate to be released than to start playing on my iPhone!

It's kinda lame when the iPhone version costs less then a happy meal, and the iPad version cost $10 and the iPhone gets updated first!
    :( - grumpy pants

Hope the iPad version comes out soon!

Don't you think it would have been more logical to update the game for te device that has the most users first?

Should I buy one of the aquariums first, or one of the mini-game "packs"? I only have around 30,000, and money is so slow to come by without Last Stand or Survival Endless.

I have bought the minigames first because it is more fun and you get money and plants while playing them.

I dont think the aquarium gives you anything apart from a place to keep your water plants...

I am saving to buy the aquarium now.
