Having wifi on your device just means its capable of picking up a wifi signal, hence giving you wireless internet access. You can't just get wifi access out of thin air. Therefore yes, you have to be near a wifi access point that you can connect to such as your home network or places like Starbucks, Barnes & Noble and the like.

For constant service you'll want a 3G iPad, which I believe allows either wifi or 3G access like an iPhone. You will have to pay I believe $30 to use AT&T's 3G service though.

Has anyone heard anything from Popcap on if the new game modes will ever make it into the iPhone version?

I still don't think you understand what wifi is.

Hmm...without wifi you can't use the internet, which practically renders the iPad useless. Plus, i doubt there is a version of the iPad that doesn't have wifi, as that would be a dumb design decision.

You do realize what wifi is right?

What's the point of an iPad if you aren't going to use the internet?

Just turn it off like you can on the ipod. It still has the capability, but it stops automatically searching for it.

The cheapest iPad has wifi capability...you aren't going to find one without it. Apple would be stupid to make a SKU without wifi because nobody would buy it....just like nobody makes a laptop today without wifi capability

YOU HAVE TO GET WIFI, you can't get it without it, (unless you would physically take apart the device, and render the wifi chip useless, (which I believe is built in to the processor also? not so sure about that))

Basic Rundown: Wifi allows you to get wireless internet when, you have a wireless signal i.e. your house starbucks, Mc Donald's etc.

3g allows you to get internet in 97% of America (according to AT & T's stupid commercial) and I'm assuming you live in America because you have no clue what your talking about, don't worry I live there too.

Good Luck! Dismantling your iPad, so you can have the only wifi less iPad!

Sigh. You have 6 options for the iPad.
    • 16GB with Wi-Fi capability
    • 32GB with Wi-Fi capability
    • 64GB with Wi-Fi capability
    • 16GB with Wi-Fi and 3G capability
    • 32GB with Wi-Fi and 3G capability
    • 64GB with Wi-Fi and 3G capability
The cheapest is the first option. Also, notice that every iPad has Wi-Fi capability.

By the way, there's no apostrophe in the plural form of iPod. (Note my post in the Grammar Nazi thread).

    Wait...

There is no 8 GB iPad model, of either type. There is only :

    16GB
    32GB
    (and) 64GB

Those are the capacities for both models, though.

Unless, of course i'm wrong. Then correct me! :p
