This is the only notable game that seemingly has all 5 star reviews on the app store. and it's well deserved too :-D
So I took a chance and bought this game and was surprised at how fun it was. Graphics were great, had a nice personality to it, and only had minor lag on my 3GS. Honestly tho, without an endless mode there really isn't much replay value. Nothing has come close to field runners replay value for me. I've tried most TD games and would place this in 2nd place.
This game has much more value to me (compared with Fieldrunners). The amount of content and build up is exactly what these games needed. But I agree with extending replayability. As for what it is, it's an amazing quality package (enough to win No.1 Tower Defense for me to recommend).
Honestly, I dropped off Fieldrunners after beating the first 100 Waves... it's just way too monotone... always the same Defenders and same Enemies. But in PvZ, you get a new Enemy and Plant almost each new level, makes it great because you have to select wisely which plants you will pick up, and the terrain and weather have a lot of effect in the choice also, Day/Night, Water, Fog... and you can buy lots of different stuff from Crazy Dave... and you know... HE'S CRAZY!!! there are also funny minigames, which makes the game very variable and it's not always the same boring stuff.
Me too! I'm also willing to pay 4.99 for puzzle and 4.99 for the minigame section as well. But I doubt that will happen.
I'd be willing to pony up some money for some extra content, Zen Garden being the most wanted. I'm sure Popcap will get a ton of inquiries about it on the "Twitter Q&A" they're hosting this afternoon, but they'll probably remain notoriously vague on whether or not to expect anything or anytime soon since they're so slow going.
