+1 here before that Peggle arrives on the iPhone i didn't knew nothing about PopCap, but when i find that Peggle was such great i'm started to document myself about the devs and discovered that they released some others gems like PvZ on the pc..and the wait to have that game on the idevice began
The pc version has became an office hit, everyone is playing this freaking game especially when the boss is not around

No - not by me. And I do believe that you are serious. But it is true... english/american isn't my native language and I have a hard time sometimes when I have to read texts full of slang words (which I have to google first to understand these phrases)... it makes things more difficult for me. I always try to catch the meaning of everything said and I don't want to get something wrong and incidentally offend people with my answer.
At $2.99 I'm considering it, but since I don't generally love tower defense games, I'm still on the fence. I've got tower defense games that I got for free that I haven't played more then a few minutes of, so I'm not sure why I would want to pay anything for PvZ, except that I like PopCap's style.
Yes, this. Not everyone knows your slang. And how do we keep on topic if we can't understand your abbreviations?
Ok seriously? Do you see Coca-Cola ads on tv? Microsoft? Apple? They ALL are 100X as big as Popcap, are known not just in the 'internet' community, but internationally, even in third world countries (ok, maybe not Apple so much on that...?) and they advertise a ton. Publicity is everything. Also, Popcap is a company that has released games at a variety of price points, with (almost!) all of their games now settling on $2.99. The biggest 'casual' (I hesitate to use that word) game developer, and probably the best, do you think they haven't done extensive studies on what is best for their market? Also, they have the benefit of only having to port this. The art assets, what is among most time and resource (money!) intensive part of many games, was already done. They simply had to scale it, find a new UI and get the code working. Well, probably not 'simply', but a hell of a lot easier than from scratch. PvZ sells regularly for $10 on steam (yea $20 on popcaps own site, but that's just strange) and has gone on sale for $5 on a few occasions. A $2.99 price point for a port to a mobile device whose consumers demand a low price point on... Doesn't seem ludicrous to me at all. In fact, I love it, because it lets me enjoy their awesome game. Side note : Lag? I notice some slow down with tons on the screen, but it doesn't feel quite like lag. The frame rate drops. It doesn't stutter or anything like that, which is what I associate with lag. It almost feels like slo motion when there is tons going on... And to be honest? I think this occurs on the PC version as well, and its not because my computer can't handle it. Maybe it's by design? Well, I doubt that, but I don't feel it deserves as heinous a description as 'lag'. The frame rate drops a tad is all I've found. That being said, 3GS. So who knows on slower devices.
to all you guys wondering if there's any play time after finishing the game, i really can't help you as i havent finished yet. what i can say is that i still think that it's already a great buy even if you just play through the story mode. yeah, that's how fun it is. and to all you people who don't like TD games, i'll just say that although this is a TD game, it's much more 'hands on' than most other TDs
i agree with u, i bought this game like an hour ago and i cant stop playing it, its that addictive p.s. i am sorry to all of you who i have offended with my style of typing
