Ok, so it's a nice game but definitely does not live up to the hype. It's far from the best tower defense game; the graphics are fine, gameplay is fine, controls are OK, "story" is absurd (but that's OK). It's an all around OK game, but really nothing spectacular.

Quite frankly after playing for over an hour, the whole thing was kind of monotonous and "meh".

Quire frankly, the beginning levels are little more than a tutorial. The real game starts when you have way more plants than slots to fit them in and need to make tough choices (the zombies also get way more interesting).

I finished the adventure mode and it does have a minigames section but I haven't found a survival mode in the options

Yeah, it gets fairly laggy on final waves unfortunately. :(

I just do not know why a simple 2D game like this is 34.7 MB!

Hi res art, lotsa music and voices. That's it.

Lots of simple games, geoDefense and the like, they are super simple graphics with some polish in the form of shine and different particle effects. Not that they don't look great, but this is far more detailed.

Maybe I should catch up on reading the thread before answering this in case this is asked and answered but the "almanac" gets unlocked after like 2-4 or 2-5 ish - can't remember exactly but that is about where it gets unlocked then you can look up the various aspects of your plants and the characteristics of the enemies too.

Played for about 30min today, pretty fun TD game.

It is kind of boring in the beginning but it picks up after a while.

Could you please tell us which minigames are available in that section? And how many are there?

I would finish adventure mode if I had the willpower to. Up to 4-2 and it's just extremely annoying and boring. The fog just bugs the crap out of me, and you lag so much on the end levels. Takes forever to get through a level now due to lag.

and how laggy is it on the last levels?
the game is really laggy when there are too many zombies and plants
i hope they can make an update, Pigs vs Wolves is smoother ;)

this needs better frame rates and a survival mode. i'd really enjoy zen garden if they add it in a future update or dlc also.

I'm on a ipod touch 2g and I haven't had any lag and I'm all the way up to level 4-1.

Your ipod must be godly then... I have a ipod touch 2g and I'm up to 4-2... The lag is horrible, just plain horrible. I'm done playing for now that is how bad it is.

damn i would like some video proof of that considering my 2g was lagging even back in the latter stages of the very first level. pretty much any time when the screen gets filled with plants, zombies, and a crapload of ammo flying across the screen, the game lags very hard. you wouldn't be making an entirely pointless lie there, would you? because that would be sad and misleading. but mostly sad.

that said, i'm still loving this game as much as i did on my first run through on the PC. still addicting even to this day...but i can see why they nixed the survival mode. it was probably causing flat out crashes on non-3G units.

I just wish it was harder. Is there a hard mode after you clear it?

As it stands now, if it doesnt get harder, the only replay value is for my kids, who have actually failed levels (a few for my 8 year old, a lot for my 5 year old).

As for me, I am ashamed enough that I used a lawnmower or two.

How far are you? There are definitely levels I failed on my first play through. There are some big guys later that cause havoc....

I think it depends on the itouch - I have a 2g, am up to around 3-x (sorry can't remember exactly) and experienced no lag. In fact I didn't even THINK of lag until I saw some of these posts! Maybe it depends how much space, ram, memory etc you have free? Or if you restarted your itouch before you played? Dunno but not a problem with that for me.
